Captured-Elle's Studio-Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop and GIVEAWAY!!!

It's the last Friday of the month, so I am back with another Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop post!  I was a little disappointed that I couldn't work it out to participate last month, I have grown to love doing this post and project!

There's a giveaway at the bottom of the post!  Be sure to check it out!

I am the first on the hop this time, so you are at a good starting point.  Just hop thru at your leisure and get inspired to use up your stash!  We know I have a ton of it to use up, that's not a joke!

It's kind of funny, I had forgotten about this Elle's collection and just happened to run across it when I was looking for something to scrap this picture with.  I think it works pretty well!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Stickers, Tags-Elle's Studio; Chevron Kraft Bag-Jillibean Soup; Doilies-American Crafts; Flowers-Pink Paislee; Enamel Dots-Doodlebug Design; Gold Foam Stickers-Crate Paper; Flair-A Flair for Buttons; Adhesive-Therm O Web

One thing about doing this is I actually will try things that I don't normally try or use.  I had these pink enamel dots and I just never pulled them out to use.  But they went perfect with the collection, so used they were!

And yes, the journaling isn't perfect, but my handwriting never is!  I always have mistakes, smudges, etc. And the cute little flair button from "a flair for buttons" etsy shop gave the layout a little more color, but was still sweet!

And speaking of flair....would you like a set of flair?!  Well, leave a comment by Tuesday, March 1 11:59 PM Central Time and I will pick a random winner for their choice of one set of flair from "a flair for buttons" Etsy shop!!  I will announce a winner on Thursday, March 3. Sorry, but I need to limit this to US only.  I will try to have an international included giveaway at a later time.

So, now get busy on the rest of the hop!

Be Original-Simple Stories and The Cut Shoppe

Hee hee, I love to go to the pottery shop and watch Carleen work her magic.  I feel awkward when I am there, because I am out of my element, but it's still fun to go.  She asked me if I wanted to go along this time and even maybe help her glaze some pieces.  Uh..ok!  Note, next time wear clothes that it will be ok if they get messy!

I took these pictures of her in action glazing some pieces that she had worked on here at home.  You can tell she is having some fun flipping glaze everywhere!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Chipboard, Enamel Dots-Simple Stories; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Silhouette Cameo with cut files from The Cut Shoppe

This was actually up on the Cut Shoppe Blog Friday.  I loved the "be original" title from the Girl Stuff file and knew it was perfect for this layout.

Simple Stories has been releasing a lot of fun little chipboard frames with their collections.  Not sure what to do with them?  Stack them up like this!

As I was looking thru cut files to use, I came across this one "Words to Live By" and knew it would be a cute one to use on this layout also.  I just backed it with some fun pattern papers.

So that's all from me today!  I actually loved playing with these older papers. Truly, they aren't that old!  We are just so used to collections coming out quickly that it just seems like it!  Have a great Monday!  Visit The Cut Shoppe on Etsy for your cut files!

Brotherly Love-Feel The Love Blog Hop with The Cut Shoppe

Welcome to the Feel The Love Blog Hop with The Cut Shoppe.  There are quite a few of us in the hop today and by commenting you have a chance to win free cut files from The Cut Shoppe! The cut files will all have a "love" theme to theme and we all have projects to share!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Tags, Letters-Fancy Pants Designs; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Silhouette Cameo with cut file

When we were setting up the blog hop, I knew that I wanted to use the "Love Struck" file. I just erased the other two "loves" and used one as part of a big title on my page.  This Fancy Pants Designs collection-Happy Place was perfect for this "lovely" layout!  HA!

I like to use lots of layers, which is pretty obvious!  LOL

I ended up creating an offset for the "love" because I really wanted to make an impact with it. And the contrast of the black with the red was perfect to do that with.

And sometimes, you just don't need a lot of journaling!  This little tag with the boys' names was a perfect fit with everything else going on in the layout.

So, I bet you are wondering what cut file you could win from my blog, right??  Well.....
I am going to give away the "Let Them Eat Pie" file!  I have used this in the past and there are four different cuts in here, so you can get a lot of use out of it!

So, be sure to leave a comment on all the blogs.  The Cut Shoppe blog has a free file for you also.  Each blog has a giveaway of one file, PLUS out of all the comments on all the blogs there will be a giveaway for 14 FREE cut files!  Giveaways will close on Feb15th at 11:59 PM CST.  Winners will be announced on Feb 16th.

Hearts A Flutter Frame with DecoFoil

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I am a lover of heart shapes!  And mixing hearts with DecoFoil from ThermOWeb sounded like a great idea. Add the fact that I recently got a laser printer into the mix and it was a home run in the making!

This was up on the ThermOWeb blog earlier this week.  You can see all the stepout photos and how this came together HERE.  AND if you love this little heart file, you can find the download link for it in my blog post over there!  It's free, so go do it!

Supplies: Pattern Paper-Crate Paper; Flowers, Resin Deer, Ribbon-Maya Road; DecoFoil in Aqua, Champagne and Pink Melon; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Chalk Paint; Old Frame

Here you can see the three different colors I used. I have a trick for getting those all foiled at the same time, just head over to the ThermOWeb blog to see it!

Originally, I was going to leave the frame as is, without the flowers or deer.  But after letting it sit overnight, I decided I needed to add a little more. Into my Maya Road stash I went! Since I left the glass piece out of the frame, it was easy to add things in.  Another little secret, I hadn't actually thought of the ribbon, but when I trimmed my paper, I accidentally marked the wrong spot to trim!  So, that ribbon at the top is covering up a seam.  It's a happy accident that I am glad happened, because I love how that scallop trim adds to the entire piece!

So be sure to download the file to use in your projects!  I would love to see what you do with it.  Link me up so that I can check it out!  Have a great day!

Love is a Four Legged Word-A Flair for Buttons and Jillibean Soup

I received a sweet little surprise in the mail a while ago, Jillibean Soup's Fur Fusion collection.  It is such a fun pet collection and actually a lot of it could be used for non pet themed layout also.  I paired it with some flair from A Flair for Buttons and instant cute layout!

This was up on the A Flair for Buttons blog earlier this week.  I have wanted to do a layout like this for awhile, I just didn't make it happen until now.

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Stickers, Wood Veneer, Sequins-Jillibean Soup; Flowers-Maya Road; Twine-May Arts; Flair-A Flair for Buttons; Punch-Martha Stewart; Cardstock-American Crafts; Silhouette Cameo with cut file

This fun piece of flair is from the Take A Picture 1 flair set. The colors went perfect with the layout colors and I wanted something to mount the bone die cut on.

I just added a little touch of the twine and flowers around the title die cut.

And every dog page needs a heart!  This is from the Just Hearts 2 set and it's one of my favorite sets.

I did my journaling with my Cameo, sketch pens and a cloud cut file. The "sky" area just looked a little too plain and I was looking for a place to add a "little" journaling!

So, head over to the A Flair for Buttons Etsy shop to pick up some fun flair! Have a great Wednesday!

Bob the Betta-The Cut Shoppe

Bob, I cannot remember if I have introduced you to Bob, my Betta Fish. I have had him for quite a few months now.  It started off as wanting a fish for my office at work.  I wanted a bubble-eyedgoldfish and I was going to name him Bob. Well, it's been quite awhile since I had a bubble-eye goldfish and they are quite expensive!  Plus, I was unable to find one locally, so I decided on a betta fish.  Then, my plan was after the  two week return period I would take him to work.  I grew attached and he is so social, that I just couldn't do it!  He is now a member of the household.

This layout was on the Cut Shoppe blog on Friday.  If you have a laser printer and a laminator, you have a brand new way to use cut files!  I have directions on the Cut Shoppe blog HERE on how to do this.  So go check it out!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Tags, Letters-Elle's Studio; Wood Veneer-Maya Road; Kraft Bag, Pinwheel, Letters-Jillibean Soup; Doily-Doodlebug Design; DecoFoil in Navy; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

I used the Retro Rectangles file for the background.  I cut a piece of pattern paper, printed my cut file on the paper and then foiled the cut file.  You can see the shine of the foil here.  It's so hard to photograph!

Bob is so pretty and I was happy that I could capture that in the pictures I used on the layout.  He swims around like this, with his fins out, quite often. He is a fish that you can drag your finger along the side of the tank and he will come to it and follow it.  He is also happier when we are home.  How do I know this?  He make a bubble nest!  The males take care of the eggs after the female releases them. The male fish makes a bubble nest to attract the female.  Basically it means he is happy or horny however you want to look at it!

So know you know about the new (well, not so new) addition to the household.  This week is a full week on the blog, so be sure to stop back by tomorrow!
