Hello #BFF-A Flair for Buttons, Jillibean Soup and The Cut Shoppe

It's Friday, It's Friday!  Can I get a YAY for it?!  I have a fun little card share today, but first I think we have a giveaway winner to announce!

I wrote the names down and pulled one out (hey, I am old fashioned in some ways!) and the winner is:
Mary Holshouser!!!

Please email me at with your mailing info, so I can get your package of flair out to you!

Now, on to the business of the day! I have a layout up on the {a flair for buttons} blog today and you can find that post HERE. That layout uses a cut file and my card here today uses the same cut file in a different way, along with a fun piece of flair from {a flair for buttons}!!

Supplies: Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern paper, die cuts-Jillibean Soup; Flair-{a flair for buttons} Etsy Shop; Adhesive-ThermOWeb: Silhouette Cameo; Cutting file-The Cut Shoppe

All the circles in the cut file, along with the die cuts, worked perfectly for me at add a little flair piece to the card.  The flair is from the Best Friends Flair Set.  You can find that set "here".

The cut file is from The Cut Shoppe and it's called Give It A Whirl.  That file can be found "here". I just traced the edges of the circle and then welded the two circles together to make a foldable card. And the flower/dot combo worked with the cut file also!  Remember, this is the same file that I used for my layout over on the {a flair for buttons} blog!

Ok that's a fast and colorful post for a Friday! Have a GREAT weekend and I will be back next week.

Hello-Heidi Swapp and Card Kit Monday by Daniela Dobson

Hee hee, I posted so much last week, I had to take a break!  Don't forget, I still have a giveaway going and on and you can enter HERE!

Today I am sharing a card made with another "Card Kit Monday" free cut file by Daniela Dobson.  You can find the cut file over on her blog HERE.  It's free, so run over and get it!  I will tell you a little about how I used the kit in my post.

Supplies:  Cardstock-Bazzill; Pattern Paper-Heidi Swapp; Twine-May Arts; Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye; Sequin-Unknown; Adhesives-ThermOWeb; Pen-Signo Uniball; Silhouette Cameo

The main thing I did was add layers to the die cuts.  So, I cut the bird twice and the wings twice.  I cut the circle twice, with one smaller than the other one. I popped the layers with foam adhesive, to make them stand out more.

I die cut the "hello" sentiment twice also.  That is actually the same paper for the "hello" and I cut it at the same time.  I just created a copy of the word and used the "flip horizontally", place them side by side and cut at the same time.

So, head over to Daniela's blog and get your "Card Kit Monday" kit! Trust me, this is a fun one and this card went together quickly.  The hardest part was picking which papers to use!

Surprise Party-Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop and a GIVEAWAY!

Last month I did not get to participate in the Scrapping Our Stash blog hop, so I made sure I got a project done in plenty of time this month!  You probably came here from Christine's blog and if not, no worries, I will have the entire blog line up at the end of the post!  AND I have a giveaway for this hop also!  Details are at the bottom!

I have had this Fancy Pants Design collection since it was released and never even used it. And I have been hanging on to this picture of Carleen's surprise party at the pottery shop for her birthday week.  Bam, instant combo for a layout!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Buttons, Letter Stickers-Fancy Pants Designs; Twine-May Arts; Doily-Wilton; Wood Veneer-Gossamer Blue; Heart Clip-Maya Road; Adhesive-ThermOWeb Designs

The way I did the title left a hole where something need to go. I started to put just the camera up there and then started playing around and ended up making a layered cluster to go there. It balances out the big "memory reel" at the opposite bottom corner.

There is one thing I know for certain, if I can make a doily fit on a page, I will do it! I really didn't need to add one here, but it just looks so cute, I couldn't stop! And then, of course, the pocket needed some extra embellishing also!  The "like" clip from Maya was the first embellishment and then I just started adding!

Wondering about the giveaway?!  I have a collection of flair (we are talking a sandwich baggie practically full!) that I got when I was on a kit team.  Since I am on {a flair for buttons} it is just sitting here and should go to a home where it will be used!  So, you have to leave me a comment about what you favorite embellishment is!  I will leave the giveaway open until Thursday, July 30th at 12 pm.  I will announce the winner here on Friday, July 31st.

Ok, from here you head to Majken's blog!  And if you just jumped in, the entire blog listing is below!  Thanks for stopping by this Friday.  Have a great weekend!

Hello Life-ThermOWebm, Cocoa Vanilla Studio and The Cut Shoppe

You know I love Cocoa Vanilla Studio, so I had to get her two new collections.  I am in love with both of them and couldn't wait to play.  Since I had a ThermOWeb project coming up, I decided to dig into the new Hello Lovely collection to play. And it works perfectly with DecoFoil in Gold!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Embellishments, Wood Veneer, Stickers-Cocoa Vanilla Studio; Twine-May Arts; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Toner Sheet; Foil-DecoFoil; Sequins-Unknown

The Cut Shoppe Cut File
The Say Anything File

With all the gold that embellishments and collections have now, DecoFoil is fun to add into your projects.

I used a cut file from "The Cut Shoppe" as my title and foiled it with DecoFoil in Gold.  I foiled my entire die cut first and then used the ThermOWeb Sticky Dot sheets to adhere the patter paper to my letters.

A few tips on working with DecoFoil:
  • Take your time!  It's not an exact science, which for me can be hard!
  • Make sure your laminator is heated completely.  I let mine heat for at least 20 minutes before I run a project thru it.
  • Practice and have fun! Once you get the hang of it, you will be hooked and trying to figure out how you can use DecoFoil on everything!

And you can see here, how I tied one of the gold embellishments from the Cocoa Vanilla collection in!
And that is all I have for you today!  Tomorrow is the "Scrapping Our Stash" monthly blog hop. We moved it up a week, since some people had prior commitments later in the month. Be sure to stop back by!

Say Hello To Kennedy-{a flair for buttons} and Simple Stories

If you have been around for awhile, you know I love gnomes.  Yes, some people think they are creepy, but I think they are adorable! I don't buy a lot of them, but I do like to add to the flower garden every once in awhile.

We were walking thru Target on a Friday night (whoohoo, Friday night fun!) and this little guy was sitting on the clearance shelf.  Hello, gnome and on clearance?  Score!  He jumped in the cart and I brought him home.

So, he was perfect to scrap with the gnome flair I had from {a flair for buttons} for my design team project.  I used several different sets on this layout and you can find the details and links for them over on the {a flair for buttons} blog, HERE.

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Stickers-Simple Stories; Chipboard-Simple Stories, American Crafts; Flair-{a flair for buttons} Etsy shoppe; Twine-Maya Road; Buttons-My Mind's Eye; Adhesives-ThermOWeb; Pen-Sharpie; Silhouette Cameo with cutting file

How cute is that gnome flair?!  Pardon my Zinnas in the picture, sadly the slugs got to them before I realized it!

I love how Shelley's flair you can mix and match seamlessly.  My "friday" button I have had since before I was on the team, but it works perfectly with my newer flair!

That's all the "flair" I have for you today.  Haha, get it?!  I am funny, right?!  Stop back by tomorrow, I will have a new project for ThermOWeb using some DecoFoil!

Hi-I Love Unicorns -Maya Road, CREATE and Pink Paislee

It's been a bit since I shared a card, so I thought I would share the card I did for the card sketch in the CREATE magazine this month.  Plus, honestly if I was going to blog everyday, I needed a filler project! Hey, I am just keeping it real!

I am so happy with how this card turned out and there are so many takes on the sketch in the CREATE issue. I used a lot of Maya Road on this and was in a "playing around with goodies" kind of mood. So, it pretty bulky and I would only give it to someone pretty special!

Supplies: Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern Paper-Pink Paislee; Chipboard-Pink Paislee, Maya Road; Trinket Pin, Twine-Maya Road; Doily-Doodlebug Design; Embossing Powder-WOW; Ink-Versamark; Sequins-Unknown; Adhesives-ThermOWeb

Just a close up of the middle details. Lots of clustering and lots of foam adhesive! But it makes for a fun and pretty centerpiece!

That was just a quick share for today!  I will be back with a {a flair for buttons} layout tomorrow using the Simple Stories Summer Vibe collection.  Have a great Tuesday!

Except Bathtime-We R Memory Keepers & CREATE

Happy Monday!  The picture on the layout I am sharing today, is kind of how I feel on Monday mornings.  Well, unless I am off work!  This one appeared in the latest issue of CREATE for the We R Memory Keepers feature.

I managed to snap this picture, much to my amazement, without the dogs moving before I could get to the closest camera, aka my phone!  They just looked so disgusted and forlorn how could you not take a picture?!  NOTE:  Higgins was in the tub at the time!  LOL

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Cork Embellishments-We R Memory Keepers; Wood Veneer-Studio Calico; Cardstock-American Crafts; Doily-Wilton; Washi Tape-My Mind's Eye; Enamel Shapes-We R Memory Keepers, Prima; Resin Flowers and Owl-Unknown; Letters-American Crafts; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

I thought the "enjoy the little things" was too funny not to put on the layout! I will admit this one was a hard one, because I don't normally work with these colors. Funny how you get into a routine and then when you try something new it seems a lot harder to do!

Loved making this cluster. I tucked that silver polka washi tape in at the last minute and knew it had to stay.

I am going to try to blog everyday this week, so you may see a couple more CREATE projects, along with ThermOWeb and {a flair for buttons}.  Have a great Monday!

Fun In The Sun-October Afternoon and Paper Issues Sketch

Let's talk allergies for a minute?  Do you have them?  You don't want them, trust me!  I have never really had allergies until this year.  The pollen counts were really high and we have had a ton of rain. Mix that combo together and apparently it is not a good thing for me.

I had a horrible episode about 1.5 months ago, where I had to call to get an inhaler to get over my cough.  After about a week of the inhaler that took care of everything.  Fast forward to this past Wednesday.  Raging headache in the middle of the afternoon.  By the time I got off work, ran a couple of errands and got home, my throat was not feeling the best.  I popped some nighttime cold meds.  I was awake half the night with the drainage (gross I know!).  I have drank 3 cups of coffee and 3 cups of peppermint tea (both hot) and it's 90 degrees with heat index of almost 100.  Plus ice water.  I have narrowed it down to the mold count being high from all the rain.  Yippee, not!

Ok, on to my project.  I did the sketch over at Paper Issues, just because I didn't want to think about anything. That turned into a bigger thinking project than I care to admit. I am horrible at geometry and this layout proved it all over again!  I played with the new October Afternoon Summertime collection and a few things from my stash.   If you want to see the sketch and play along, you can find it HERE.  You have until the end of the month, I think!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Stickers, Journaling Tag, Lace Trim-October Afternoon; Buttons-Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker; Doily-Doodlebug Design; Crochet Doily-Prima; Graph paper bag-Unknown; Acrylic Speech Bubble-Unknown; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

I really wanted to add more to this layout, but just couldn't figure out how to do it and make it look good. So I just played a little on the journaling tag.

Some of the stuff I have had in my stash for awhile.  Might at well get them on a page also!

Ok that's it, I am outta here for tonight.  I am hitting the bed early and hopefully getting something that resembles sleep before the morning!  Have a great Friday!!!

Love Dogs-CREATE Magazine and Seven Paper

Well, the project I wanted to share for this post, I didn't get the pictures taken.  So, I am opting for a project that I have in the latest issue of CREATE magazine.  Hey, it's a project and it's new!  I am all for that.

If you haven't seen the magazine yet, first of all, why not?!  Second of all, you can download the issue HERE.  Third, what are you waiting on?!  Go! Go! Go!!

This layout was for the layout sketch part of the magazine.  It was an extra project for me, but I loved the sketch, so it wasn't too hard for me to want to do!   I love how this turned out and I even got crazy with splattering mist.  I am SO NOT good at that! Carleen cringes everytime I get the mist out, if that tells you anything!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper, Vellum Hearts, Puffy Stickers, Wood Veneer, Die Cuts-Seven Paper; Mist-Heidi Swapp; Sequins-WeRMemory Keepers; Foil-DecoFoil by ThermOWeb; Adhesives-ThermOWeb; Flair-{a flair for buttons} Etsy Shop; Doilies-Doodlebug Design; Silhouette Cameo with cut files

I had just gotten some of the new DecoFoil colors from ThermOWeb and since they went so well with my layout, I had to use some! This is the Pumpkin color and I used the DecoFoil Foam adhesive with them.  I just ran the foam thru my Silhouette (you can also use a manual die cutting system) and then covered with foil!

And these are the Teal and Pink Melon colors.  The doily is one of the mini doilies from Doodlebug Design and I just cut it in half and shaped to fit the area.

That's all today! Oh...and let's play "Where's Waldo aka Ella?"  She is in the pictures, can you see her???

Hello Summer ,Let's Go-Maya Road and Simple Stories

It is still crazy to me that I am on Maya Road's team and get to play with such fun stuff!  Honestly, it is such an honor to represent them and make projects for them.  And it's so EASY too!  The hardest part is deciding what NOT to use, because I want to use it all!

This time I paired up Simple Stories Summer Vibes collection with Maya goodies and I am loving how it turned out.  AND I also used some Maya Road cut files that are available for FREE!!  Maya Road has a card/mini album kit blog where you can pick up fun card and mini album kits.  Bonus, sometimes there are cut files!  You can find the blog with all the info on the kits HERE.  And if you are on Facebook you can join the Maya Road Kit Chat Group HERE.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Simple Stories; Stickers-Simple Stories; Doily-Doodlebug Design; Embossing Powder-Wow; Ink-Versamark; Cut Files, Wood Veneer, Chipboard,  Butterfly Pin, Journaling Tag, Geo Love Clip, Leaves-Maya Road; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

Here I took the scalloped frame, covered with Versamark and then embossing powder.  After heat setting, I decided I wanted a thicker layer, so I did it again.  I covered the center piece with that fun pattern paper that was actually part of a tag/pocket filler.  Tuck a kraft butterfly pin, a couple of leaves and a doily, bam, cute little embellishment cluster!

I stapled the geo love clip onto the journaling tag and tucked behind my pictures.

That ticket is one of the cute cut files.  I added the wooden snapshot token in the middle of it.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I am hoping to be back for Thursday.  I will have to see if I get my layout done!

Celebrate-Card Kit Cut Files by Daniela Dobson

I have a fun card share for you today!  One of my fellow scrapbookers (who I adore her style!), Daniela Dobson, has created a FREE card kit cut file that you can download on her blog HERE.  All the shapes, etc were created by her and she bundled them into this fun little kit.  This has so many possibilities and she has done quite a few variations over on her blog.

I told her I wanted to try it out so she sent me the files.  I slightly enlarged everything to fit my 5.5 in. square cardbase.  And I doubled up on the balloons.  This card came together so quick.  The hardest part was picking from the Fancy Pants Designs papers that I was using!

Supplies:  Pattern Papers/Colored Cardstock Papers-Fancy Pants Designs; Twine-May Arts; Cardstock (card base)-American Crafts; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

Silhouette Cameo with Card Kit by Daniela Dobson

I love these balloons!  That was my dilemma, deciding what paper to make them!

The word "celebrate" is Daniela's handwriting and I am jealous!  Mine would NOT be legible!

This is a great basic card kit cut file that could be used for a variety of cards, just by switching things here and there!  Go over, grab it, and let Daniela know that I sent you!  It's free, so what do you have to lose?!

Happy Tuesday and stay cool.  Heat indexes are over 100 degrees here this week.  This girl will be staying in the house creating!

Love This Altered Frame-Maya Road

Thought I would pop in and share the altered frame I shared a sneak of for Maya Road a couple of weeks ago.

I found this fun chickenwire backed frame at JoAnn's.  I painted the wooden frame with white chalkboard paint and was ok with the fact I didn't do it perfectly and some of it wound up on the chickenwire!

I used the Cocoa Vanilla Sugar & Spice collection for the paper parts that I did need.  Almost everything on here is Maya and I cannot wait to figure out where I am going to hang this.

Supplies: Pattern Paper-Cocoa Vanilla Studio; Enamel Dots-Teresa Collins; Doily-Doodlebug Design; Sequins-WeRMemory Keepers; Chipboard Butterfly, Sun Clip, Canvas Flower, Chalkboard Tag, Kraft Camera, Twine, Clothes Pins, Trinket Pins-Maya Road; Glitter Pen-Wink of Stella; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

I loved this canvas mum and knew I wanted to use those fun trinket pins with it.  I ran a Wink of Stella pen in white over the chalkboard tag and then layered a sticker and sequins on top of it.

These butterflies come as layers that you can use together or separately.  I covered the bottom part with pattern paper, so that it would peek thru.  The top part, I just painted with some acrylic paint.

These fun shaped paper clips from Maya can be altered to match your projects, with just some supplies you have on hand.  Here I used some VersaMark and embossing power to make my sun a true yellow!  You can also paint them, color them with alcohol inks or pens, etc.

I am hoping to get some new projects that I can post for you done and photographed.  We are in a series of rainstorms and flooding!  Nothing has happened here thank goodness, but when the rain comes it come hard, fast and a lot.  Have a great Tuesday and craft something pretty!!!!

Guesting for Paper Issues and the July Swag Bag

Hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th here in the US.  We went to my step-sister's and had a great fish fry but left before the fireworks.  Poor Mr. FluffyPants, aka Jetson, was limping.  We think he probably sprained his paw or leg, so he is on restricted activity and crate rest for at least a week.

So, I am guesting for the Paper Issues blog today with the July Swag Bag and a few of my own goodies thrown in to make a fun layout.  That is a "little" patriotic in colors and stars at least!  Head over to the Paper Issues blog to see it and a few tips on creating layouts that are not your regular size that you work with!  You can find the posting HERE.

And here is a sneak of my layout, make sure to come over and say hi!!!

That's all for today, hope you have a great Sunday.  Thinking about heading to the nature center here and taking a hike possibly!
