Aloha-Guest Designing for The Cut Shoppe

I am guesting for The Cut Shoppe today and I have a project up over on their blog.  I used the fun, new Baxter collection.  So head over there and check it out!  You can find the posting HERE.

I used the Prickly Pineapple cut file, which you can find HERE for both my layout for The Cut Shoppe blog and my card I am sharing here today.  I used a few of the same techniques for both, just a few minor changes.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye; Cardstock-American Crafts; Sequins-WeRMemory Keepers, Crate Paper, Unknown; Letters-American Crafts; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Gelatos-Faber Castell (Margarita Mix, Mango, Iced Chai, Orange Soda, Bubblegum, Lime)

And yes, I dug out the Gelatos again!  I cannot stop playing with them.  After I did my layout, I knew I wanted to make a card and the gelatos fit right in again!

I created an offset of the cut file to make the background for the die cut.

And I used the same technique, but folding the outer leave up just a bit for more dimension and added fun!   This also doesn't create a lot of bulk either!

So, you have seen it all here!  Head over and check out my layout that I did with that darn cute and lovable Jetson on it!  Happy Monday!

Her Calling Me Out Grumpy Face-Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop

We have 16 people that are participating this month in getting their stashes down...or at least using up some older product that is laying around!  I am starting to love this once a month, use it up, all paper is pretty don't let it sit, motivation to use some older things from my stash.  You probably arrived here from Juliana's blog.  There is a complete hop list at the end of my posting also!

There is a giveaway for commenting on my personal blog.  A few embellishments that I have a quite a few extras of, some Thickers possibly, many colors of twine and no telling what else I can come up with!  See details at the bottom of the post.

I combined this hop with the Scraplift Sunday over at Paper Issues.  I was short on time and just needed a starting point. I used the Pebbles "From Me to You" collection for this layout.  And everything, including embellishments, etc are older stuff I have held onto.  I have had doilies in my stash a long time....even though I use them all the time, they are a staple!  And I even dug out my Gelatos that I have had forever and had fun with them. These will be seeing more action in my projects, just fair warning!

Supplies: Pattern Paper-Pebbles; Stickers-Pebbles, Simple Stories; Envelopes-Pebbles; Letter Stickers-My Mind's Eye, Simple Stories; Wood Veneer-Studio Calico; Chipboard-Pebbles, American Crafts; Tag-Studio Calico; Canvas Tag-Canvas Corp; Ink/Paint-Faber Castell Gelatos; Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye, Teresa Collins; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Twine-October Afternoon

And the title is a little hard to read, but I didn't want to use anything bigger than these stickers.  There will be a shot of the journaling explaining the title a little farther down.

Here is a shot of the tag I used the Gelatos on.  I smeared orange, pink and yellow colors on the canvas tag and then brushed water on with a paint brush.  I actually did this a few times, because I couldn't get the blend just the way I wanted.  I love how it turned out!

And a closer shot of that journaling.  Yep, I get a little #hangry when I need (or think I need!) food!  And I asked and had her permission to scrap this pic!  LOL

GIVEAWAY-Open until Friday, June 5th 11:00 PM CST
To be entered for the giveaway, leave a comment on this post.  International is ok, just give me a little extra time to get it shipped!  It will be a random assortment of extras that I have of embellishments, Thickers and definitely multiple colors of twine.

Want to see more goodness and reminisce on older product that you might have laying around?!  Check out the other blogs on the hop!  You should go to Kelly Jean's blog next!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Higgins & His Shadow-CREATE Magazine

Note, I am loving the rain that is going on outside right now.  The window is open with the breeze blowing in that sweet rain smell.  Ok, back to our programming!

This layout is in the most recent issue of the CREATE magazine.  One of my assignments was the color challenge.  These are always hard for me.  I honestly think it's because I don't want to be limited to colors!  This one actually went fairly well, once I started digging in my stash for papers.  I pulled a bunch from my Gossamer Blue kits and then some Basic Grey papers I had.

Supplies are listed in the magazine, so I am going to leave that part out!

A little secret.  I just about messed this layout up once I had it done. I got the idea to "doodle" underneath the word "his".  Well, it didn't turn out quite like I had hoped and I started to panic. So, I decided just to make some heavy lines instead. They aren't too bad and actually kind of worked with the letters I had chosen for the title.

To tie those doodled lines in, I decided to trace the circles.  Of course, this was decided AFTER I had attached them to my layout with my ThermOWeb foam squares!  LOL  So, I very carefully traced around and was ok with how it turned out. I obviously did not plan well for the entire layout, but I am happy with the way it turned out!

And if you haven't seen the May issue of CREATE magazine you can download it HERE (and all the other issues!).  Have a great Tuesday!

Love Bubba-Gossamer Blue And A Maya Road Sneak

Still hoarding a few layouts to share with you on the blog from the crop.  Not intentionally, of course, but because I just haven't posted them!

Today is a layout with some Gossamer blue from their Gramercy Road collection and a file from The Cut Shoppe.

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Stickers, Die Cuts, Enamel Dots & Chipboard-Gossamer Blue; Punch-Martha Stewart; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Cut File-The Cut Shoppe

Let Them Eat Pie Cut File

I linked the cut file, because it would be hard to find just by looking.  I basically used the lower half of the file for my layout.  Embellished the letters with some enamel dots and added some journaling in!

Just a close up of the cluster!  I loved these soft colors, but have held onto the collection for awhile, because I just wasn't sure what to use it on.

AND, I am up on the Maya Road blog for the first time today HERE.  I would love if you would go check out my project.  Here is a sneak of it, using some Fancy Pants and DecoFoil along with Maya Road goodies!  I am so excited, because it feels like I am "official" now!  And yep, I glittered and liked it!

You & Me & Us-Fancy Pants Designs

Wednesday anyone?!  YAY!  Here is hoping I have a productive day at the paying job today. A deadline of Friday to get some stuff done and I ran into a snag that hopefully our software people can get me thru!

But, you didn't come for work related things did you?  You came to see another project!  And since I finally managed to get the Fancy Pants collection "Flutter", I decided to whip out a layout with it.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Buttons-Fancy Pants Designs; Doily-Unknown; Twine-May Arts; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

This layout has some major foam adhesive on it to create the shadow box effect!  So, I kept everything else to a minimum. I had a small "tear" in this top corner, so just embellish over it right?!

And this title just kind of came to me when I was looking thru the die cuts. I added the arrow at the last second.  And then I needed the butterfly!  LOL

Well, there is another layout in the books.  Or maybe in a pile, waiting to get into a book?!  How many layouts do you have stacked up?  Just when I think I have them all put away, I find more.  Have a great Wednesday!

The Tilt-Using Up My Gossamer Blue

As you can tell, I am trying to make a dent in my Gossamer Blue kits that I had let sit around.  I packaged up a few of them when I went to the crop a couple of weeks ago and tried to work with them the most.

And as I post this, I am noticing I have a thing for two picture layouts lately! Even ones that I haven't posted yet!  So, just fair warning, there may be layouts with two pictures on them a lot.  This one is from my October GB kit, I think.

"no supply listing, because I didn't note it when I was doing this"

I thought that little rub-on saying was perfect to work into the title and because of the pictures. And seriously, Jetson tilts his head like this all the time!

I sometimes debate about what to take detail shots of.  I know a lot of people like to read journaling. I may not do a lot of it, but if you cannot read it on the main project photo, I try to include a detail shot.

Alright, that's it for tonight (this morning, etc!)  Have a great Tuesday and I might just be back tomorrow with a Fancy Pants layout! Thanks for stopping by.

Adorable Moments-Crate Paper

So, I bought the Confetti collection from Crate Paper for an assignment coming up in the CREATE magazine this month.  After getting it home and looking at it a little more closely, I wondered what the HECK I was going to do with a pink giraffe?  This was seriously a joke with me and my friend, Lindsey.  I just kept asking her what the heck am I going to do with it.

Well, fast forward to the crop that I went to.  I was determined to make that giraffe work!  I remember that we had taken some cute pictures feeding the giraffes at the zoo here in the fall.  BAM, problem solved!

This also shows that you don't have to use a birthday theme for a birthday!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Chipboard, Vellum, Stickers-Crate Paper; Letters-American Crafts; Sequins-Unknown; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

And then I was trying to figure out how to work flowers into the layout.  I know giraffes probably do not eat actual flower leaves, but it makes for a great look on the layout!

Just a shot of the title area.  I actually just realized I didn't do any journaling on this layout. I may have to go back and add a little!

And since I have been "working for the weekend" all week long, I am a happy girl that it's Friday. Not a lot planned for the weekend, although I would love to get the front flower bed cleaned out. We shall see, since I have said that for a couple of weeks now!  Have a great one.

& We Wait-a Flair for Buttons, Gossamer Blue and Paper Issues

Whee, it's Wednesday and I am excited about that let me tell you!  Sharing a layout here on the little blog today based on a sketch from Paper Issues, but that also uses some {a flair for buttons} flair on it!

Which reminds me to tell you that I have another layout up over on the {a flair for buttons} blog. You can find that posting HERE.

This was a fun little sketch to work with and it worked perfectly with my pictures.  I knew I wanted these pictures to be smaller, just for the fact they aren't "great" pictures.  Toothbrush in one hand, iPhone in the other trying to take a pic in a dark hallway!

Gossamer Blue April Kit

And not listing supplies individually, because I didn't note them as I went along!  I know there is Crate Paper, Gossamer Blue, Simple Stories and of course the flair from {a flair for buttons}!

Close up of the journaling, done on my Silhouette Cameo.  I wish I could remember which font I used.  If I do, I will update my post here.

That's all for this Wednesday. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day and at least craft a little.  And since I am writing this Tuesday night, I am not getting any crafting done because Marvel's Agents of Shield season finale is getting ready to come on!

Let's Sleep In-Gossamer Blue and Paper Issues Crop

I still have a couple of projects from the Paper Issues online crop that I haven't shared yet.  This is one of them.  I "think" it is from my January Gossamer Blue kit. Quite frankly, I had stuff everywhere and I am not sure where I pulled things from!  So, no supply list for this one, just pics!

I think this was for an "inspired" by challenge.  I cannot remember and there are too many posts to go back thru to find it!

I know there is Simple Stories, Pebbles, October Afternoon in this for sure!! Just a little journaling, these two hardly ever cuddle together.

And yes, I actually think it was a Wednesday that I caught them doing this one day after work.

There is just something about this "today" die cut from Simple Stories that I love!

Thanks for stopping by and make sure to capture all those "little" moments if you can!

Maya Road Design Team Announcement and a Gossamer Blue Layout Share

I am so so excited that I cannot wait to share!!!  See below and head over to the Maya Road Blog HERE for all the details!!!!

I can officially say that I have actually scrapped with my April Gossamer Blue kit.  Sadly, the past few months my kits have kind of sat there and just hung out in their little place when the mojo was on vacation, along with the blog.

BUT, since the mojo has returned, along with some blogging, I am whipping out the layouts! Now, to whip out some cards.  I am feeling some cards coming on.  I am sharing a layout with you that I did at the crop this weekend.

I hoarded the Elle's Studio paper in the kit until I couldn't wait any longer to use it on a layout.  Then I even went on a saving mission and cut out the middle and backed with cardstock! And I still have the middle section, btw!

April Gossamer Blue Kits

Supplies: Pattern paper-Elle's Studio, Simple Stories, Crate Paper; Wood Veneer-Elle's Studio; Stickers-Elle's Studio, Simple Stories; Brad-Simple Stories

Not in Kit:  Cardstock-American Crafts; Envelope-Maya Road; Butterfly pin-Maya Road; Ribbon-May Arts; Doily-Doodlebug Design; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

Cut File by The CutShoppe
Wood You Be Mine

There was something about the wood grain cut file that I loved, I think it was the hearts.  I actually hand cut the pattern paper hearts, using the leftovers from my die cut as a cutting guide.  I just love the overall soft look of the entire page.

And this little polka dotted envelope was great to tie in the wood veneer and pink.  And of course, a doily, always a doily!

So that's all for this Wednesday!  I may be back tomorrow with another layout share.  But this chickie is calling it a night and heading to bed! (aka, blogging the night before!)

Hipster Hat-Gossamer Blue

Here with another layout from the Paper Issues crop and this one was based on the sketch during the crop.  Hipster anyone?!  I just cut a bunch of 3x4 pieces of paper and started layering. The fun began when I tried to stick everything down!

And....this is another one that I am not sure what papers I used, kits I mixed etc!  I also used some stuff from my small (heehee, not!) paper stash, since the colors went well with some of the things I was trying to use!

That flair piece is from {a flair for buttons}.  I do know that!  And the older My Mind's Eye papers are from Cut and Paste.  That's all I have got though.

These Thickers are so fun!  The funny thing is, this is the only layout I have used them on so far!

I did a little journaling with my Cameo and sketch pens.  Then I just created an oval around the journaling and cut it out.

Here is to a wonderful and happy day, and hopefully a quick one at work!  Come back later!

Beautiful Girl-Cocoa Vanilla Studio & Paper Issues Sketch

Crafty hangover anyone?!  Me, waving hand in air as high as I can.  I am typing every other word wrong as I am writing this blog post! I managed to get 7 layouts done at the crop, which is like a record for me in a two day crop.

I had a blast with old scrappy friends and a new one, Wendy!  Ann, Nancy, Kimx2, Tasha, Danielle, and Robin were a lot of fun.

Toward the end of the crop, I was getting pretty tired and didn't want to think too much, so I decided to play along with the Paper Issues sketch they had up for Saturday.  You can find out details about the sketch HERE.  And I pulled out the Sugar and Spice collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio that I hadn't had a chance to play with yet.  The colors are so feminine and pretty, perfect for this picture of Ella from our photo shoot with April.

Supplies-All Pattern Paper and Embellishments-Cocoa Vanilla Studios; Doilies-Doodlebug Design; Sequins-Teresa Collins; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

These little wooden butterflies are so darn cute, I almost couldn't use them. But since it went so well with the cluster, I did!

And I moved my circles from the top of the page to the bottom and then just decorated a few of them.

Alright, my little eyes are having trouble staying open.  Of course, that will change as soon as my head hits the pillow, I will be wide awake!

Have a wonderful Monday and come back for a visit tomorrow!

Days Like These-Maya Road and Jillibean Soup

Whee!  It's National Scrapbooking weekend and I am super excited!  Although, I don't need an excuse or "holiday" to scrapbook.  I am back today with another Jillibean Soup layout that was one of my submissions to the design team call for Maya Road.

These soft colors in the Summer Red Raspberry Soup collection were just the right look for the edits that I had done on my pictures.  I had played around with some presets in Lightroom and it wasn't just a normal edit that I did.

Supplies-Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Stickers-Jillibean Soup; Cardstock-American Crafts; Buttons, Flowers, Hanger, Yellow Paper Twine, Flower, Library Pocket, Stick Pin-Maya Road; Punch-Martha Stewart; Silhouette Cameo with Font; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

A sweet scrapbooking friend, Emily Pitts, send me some Maya goodies to work with, as I had a limited supply on hand and didn't have time to order!  She had included these two big organza flowers that are actually from a ribbon strand.  I cut them apart and used them to anchor my paper twine.

I love pockets just to decorate.  I took some of the sentiments from the 6x6 mini pad and cut them up to place on the inside card.  And a trick for those fun stick pins-stick them in foam adhesive and you are good for no sharp pointy edges!

SO, how are you going to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day or Weekend!?!  I am off to a Friday-Saturday crop at Scrapbook Generation.  Cannot wait to play with the girls there.  And SG has some challenges up if you are up for it!  Check them out HERE.  This will link your to the first challenge to get started.  AND you have until May 30th to play for prizes!!!  Have a Happy Friday!
