Well, CHA has wound down and so has my vacation sadly.  Monday is back to work and I can honestly say I am not really ready yet.  What the heck happened to my week???  Huh????  Where did it go??? Oh yeah....camped on Facebook watching for CHA updates!  LOL LOL

I did have some exciting news during CHA, one of my projects for Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker was the hit of her booth!  The ladies from Creating Keepsakes (I KNOW...right?!) fell in love with my banner that I made.  I was so excited!!!  And it ended up on CK's "I Spy" game they played on Facebook during CHA.  Ok, so it's not a published thing....but hey, I was pretty psyched!
Speaking of Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker here is a look at her new Christmas line "Happy Holly Days"

I have a sneak peek of a Kiki Art project I have going up on the Kiki Art blog on Tuesday:

So, cute paper up there huh????  Well, Kiki Art is featured in Scrapbook Magazine this month!!!  There is a paper pack in there called Sunny Bay!  So, run DON'T walk, to your favorite store to get it and if you can't get it there you can order it HERE.  How cool is that?! paper pack with the mag!

CHA Madness has begun!!! And a Card....

Hey everyone...are you enjoying the CHA madness??  I know the updates just are not coming fast enough for me!  LOL  I see there is a new SLICE???  Well....I have a Slice, but I could always use a new one.  :)  The new one, from what Making Memories said on their blog is supposed to cut thicker material..twice as thick.....soo...are we talking chipboard?  Not sure on that one, chipboard is pretty cereal box?  maybe!  I have been "working" on something with my Slice......I won't be showing it for another month,'s a secret.  And I need to perfect it!

If you wanna hear me "talk" instead of just read....head on over to my good friend Sarah de Guzman's blog, Red Oak Lines.  She had me do an audio post over there to update her blog tonight.  HA HA  I highjacked it!

So, this is my first easel card.  I saw one of these over on the Unity site somewhere....and decided I HAD to make one!!!!  I also have joined...SplitCoastStampers....ekkk...ha ha!  Only THE biggest stamping site on the net!  This is something I wish I would have made to go to instead I made it DURING CHA!  lol lol

Supplies: Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker Blueberry Hill Collection and Buttons,
Ranger Distress Inks, Offray Ribbon, Bazzill Cardstock,
Offray Ribbon, Glue Arts Adhesive technically it is day 2 of my week vacation....and I still haven't scrapped!  LOL I hate it when I make plans and then just don't follow thru.....darn CHA and Facebook updates!  I got an email that my Unity package is on it's way to me!!  Whoo hooo...I can't wait to get it and get to playing!!!!

Weekend Fun! and a little Lily Bee in the mix!

Sadly, one of my favorite scrappy peeps is moving to Michigan.  I am going to miss her.  Sarah is so fun and just off the wall comedy.  She makes me laugh every time I am around her.  GONNA MISS YOU GIRLIE!!!!!  I think I am going to have to scrap this picture real soon! tears...:)  On to scrappy stuff!!!

So, as you know..I am on VACATION this so need this!  Even though no CHA, I am going to keep busy scrapping and watching the net for all the wonderful updates from everyone.  Maybe even one of my scrappy friends that is there...(cough cough...Sarah de Guzman) might call me just to chat.  HAHA...I know everyone will be busy!!  ;)

So, I went and did a little scrappy shopping yesterday...and paper??  Just some cardstock!  I have some "fab" ideas for some cards, you know...since I joined that kit of the month from Unity, I gotta be making me some cards!  LOL

And then this morning I decided I was just going to scrap all day!  I whipped out this Lily Bee layout in record time...well for me anyway.  I asked Miss Julie Tucker-Wolek how long it takes her amazing talent to whip out a layout....15-30 mins?!  What the heck...I am the poster child for 2-3 HOURS!!!  hee hee....So, this one only took me about an hour.....but I was trying to be really careful with my paper use, since I don't have a lot of this line left!

Supplies: Lily Bee-Hello Sunshine Collection, Fabri Tac and Glue Arts adhesive,
Martha Stewart Border Punches, Ranger Paint Dauber in Lemonade, Twine, Sharpie Marker
How cute is this?? And Lily Bee chipboard is so FUN to layer!!!

Then I was having some fun with the twine!  Decided it needed another flower in that corner!

And those rub-ons are THE BEST I have ever used!  I do have trouble with rub-ons, so I don't use them much....I do like them though!

Well, I am off here to get a little work done/errand running and then some more scrappy goodness!!!  Working on a SECRET...that I will be able to tell you about soon!!!!

Love this time of year!!!!! Well, twice a year!!!

Hey everyone!!!  Nope didn't disappear, although I feel like I did.  We had company and I have been busy creating CHA stuff that I can't share just yet!  I love the fact that new scrappy stuff is coming out and that everyone gets so excited as the anticipation builds!  I am the SAME WAY!  I can't wait to see all the new goodies.  I have enough supplies to probably last me forever, but I like new stuff too.  :)

I do have news to share on the Kiki Art front!!!  Kiki thought it would be fun to the let our fans name our newsletter!  I am on the newsletter team, so I am going to be in on the ground floor of it.  We are working on making it fun, inspiring, informative, and want our fans to be involved.  :)  So head on over to the Kiki Art blog or our Facebook Fan page and leave a comment on one OR both!!  We will be picking our favorite after the end of the month.  You also need to sign up for the newsletter!!!  The sign up space is right on the blog.  You know who might have some neat stuff coming out in it!  hint hint!!!

And I have been holding off on showing this card, but I decided to go ahead and show it now!  I feel like I haven't really shown any Kiki Art, but I have been having to "hang on" to stuff before I can share anything I have been doing!  This card just "fell" into place and design!  have I told you....I LOVE Unity Stamps??? Ha ha...that bicycle was just dying for me to use it on a card.
Supplies:  Kiki Art Jardin Line, Ranger Archival Ink, Core-dinations cardstock, Unity Stamps
May Arts ribbon, Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher, Glue Arts Adhesive.

I know it seems like I have been making a lot of cards, but they are something quick that I can do to show, while behind the scenes I am working on layouts!!!  I do have a layout that I can show you though.  As you know, we had Nikki Sivils Day at Scrapbook Generation last week.  Thanks to everyone that came out, we had fun....sorry I had to leave early.  Poor Jetson was limping, so I wanted to come home and check on him.  At least I got to play most of the day!  You already saw the card I did from the Blueberry Hill Collection, so here is a layout!  Whooo hooo....let's get back on the layout showing!  ;)
Supplies:  Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker Blueberry Hill Collection,
Martha Stewart Border Punch Around the Page, American Crafts Thickers,
Sharpie Marker

This was a pic that Steph (hi Steph!!!) took at Scrapapoolza.  We were trying to get a group pic and just messing around.  Someone said it was like a group of cheerleaders trying to build a pyramid.  HA HA, Debbie didn't know anyone else had captured this on their camera until I posted it on Facebook.  Whoooppies!!!  Anyway....everyone's clothing colors went with these papers and I was searching for a pic to use....Voila! Layout!

And I will have more to share soon!!!  Debby at "the heArt of Scrapbooking" is getting ready to go live with the site this week.  I am so excited that she allowed me to participate in helping her.  :)  Debby just reminds me of  an Auntie!  Go watch her videos, you will see what I mean!!  Love ya Debby!  Here is a "sneak" of something that I did for can't see it until I get the ok!!!!

Ha Ha, that's all your are going to get for now!!!

I know I have promised a giveaway, but I just haven't gotten around to getting the blox together yet.  I promise soon!!!

There is a sketch over on the Kiki Art blog that you all need to check out and play along with!!!  Our fab design team member, Lynda Lindley is great with the sketches and I haven't been able to participate in a while, so I was excited about getting to.  Here's the card I created.

Sneaky!!!!! And some fun going on if you are in the Spfld Mo Area!

Whoo is almost the weekend and I can't wait!!!!  Although as soon as work is over tomorrow....CRAFTY madness begins!  Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker Day is Saturday at Scrapbook Generation here in town.  We partnered with them back in January and it was so much fun they asked us back!  It will be the "world" premiere of TWO of the six lines that will debut at CHA later in the month.  The shipping of the product was delayed a few days, so we are going to be creating like crazy to get some samples done!   So come join us in our fun!!!

I have a love for Unity Stamps.  I know I have raved about them before...but these are amazing!!!!  LOVE them...really restraining myself from Kit of the Month!  LOL  After the car payment is gone, it might just be on my list though!  So here's a sneak with a little Unity and a little Kiki Art.

It's the first time I have tried to use markers on the stamps to do different colors.  I don't think it turned out too bad!!!!

So, I got a little sumthing sumthing to play with today, but have to wait to find out what I am playing with and why!  Sorry, that's just the way it is!  I am such a meanie!!!
It seems like things just won't slow down anytime soon.  With the "bill paying job" the "scrappy creative stuff" some visitors coming and my love of sleep, well, I just don't have enough time!  And I get easily distracted with things.....mmm...could I be a little ADHD??  maybe!!!  LOL LOL

Recovering from the 4th...and just a card today!!! And a secret!!!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe 4th.  Me...well, I ended up with a headache and decided to skip my plans.  (hey it happens and I really really REALLY didn't want to have a migraine come Monday morning).

Look what we got from our container garden!!!  How fun and yummy do these look??  And we have TONS more of the Romas.

There is a pasta salad that is so so yummy with fresh tomatoes.  I LOVE making it and it's super easy.  It's on the back of the Kraft Italian Blend grated cheese found in the cooler section.  Try it, you will love it!

On the scrappy front, I was lucky enough to get in on a "secret" project that Debby Lewis from Creative Dream Studios and Debby's Dare blog .  I am so honored that she let me in on the secret and let me play along!  Sign up for her newsletter to be notified of what is coming!! And while you are visiting her blog...check out her videos.  LOVE this lady, she is so fun to watch and listen to.  And very informative I might add!!! I can't wait till I get to share her secret with you....yeah...I know another one of those "wait, I can't share it" things!  LOL LOL

I (clearing throat here...uhm uhm) straightened up my scrappy area with Carleen's help.  It's amazing how it "grows".  I used to crossstich, but paper seems to multiply like rabbits!  LOL LOL  And we won't talk about border punches!!!  hee hee...

I was able to make a couple of things.  One is the one above that I can't show you yet and here is one I can.  I won a prize from Lily Bee Design, back before I went on my trip for work.  I finally got around to getting to scrap with some of it!  I made a card...I know...what is up with my card making lately?!  I think I am getting a little better!  And this one didn't take me near as long.  I get caught up in the "it's too small to add stuff to" frame of mind!
Supplies: Hello Sunshine Collection (including pattern paper and chipboards)-Lily Bee Design,
American Crafts Thickers, Glue Arts and Fabri Tac Adhesive, Offray Ribbon

I LOVE Lily Bee's chipboard buttons!  They are so cute and fun, I couldn't stop using them!  The decoration on the inside is from one of their die cuts.

And we have a birthday girl in the house this week.  Miss Ella will be 7 years young on the 10th.  It is so hard to believe she is that old.  She came along and fit right in the household at the time.  Heck, I still kept calling her a puppy until she was about 4!  I refused to believe she had grown up!  So, I think I am going to post a pic a day of her!!!  Well, as many times as I blog this week!!!

And on another personal note, please support ALL your LSS's.  I know that you may have your favorites, but EVERYONE in the scrappy world needs to support each other.  I was blessed to have two stores here in town, but sadly the one that I cropped at has now closed.  LUCKILY, she still has a shop about 40 minutes away...but there is the drive it takes to get there.  I also have one that is about 5 minutes away.  I will continue to support both stores any way I can.   They are both very different stores, but they are stores where you can touch, feel, drool (as long as you don't get it on the paper!), and get great inspiration.  Or just a scrappy fix.  Especially as a manufacturing team designer, if the stores aren't here to carry the products, then I don't get to have the fun of creating for a manufacturer.

I promote the manufacturer's that I design for in ANY WAY I can (at any stores that I can), that is part of the job of being a designer, especially a manufacturer's designer.  AND I LOVE IT!  I love seeing people's faces when they see the new stuff, or you teach them something they hadn't thought of.  This is MY opinion and does not reflect on any teams that I work for or may work for in the future!

Ok, I am off here for now!!!  Stay tuned.....I am planing a giveaway this week!!!  Remember I said I straightened my scrappy area....well, that also means purging some stuff out.  There may just be some Kiki Art, Nikki Sivils, Sassafrass, American Crafts and Cosmo Cricket up for grabs!  How about them apples?  Or maybe I should have said tomatoes!!!
Have a scrappy kinda day!!~~Katrina

Happy 4th!

Just a quick post to wish everyone a Happy 4th.  We are so lucky to have the freedoms we do.  This is a time to celebrate that, but also remember everyone that serves our country, past and present.  I am just going to post some pics I took in Cabool, MO. yesterday.  They had a traveling exhibit of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall that resides in Washington.  I can say it definitely moved me in a way I didn't expect.  Each of the bigger walls had around 130 names on each panel. This half scale replica took up almost the entire length of the football field at Cabool High School. There was also a celebration on Main St.  We took it in (what was there!)  At least I had a (somewhat) willing participate in some photo fun.

A little Imaginesce Card!

Well, I am so trying to do cards better!  It is the one thing I have talked about on here that I can not do well!  Practice makes perfect right?! hee hee

My online BFF, Sarah is on the design team at Imaginisce.  I happened to visit her blog today (and you should check it out too!) and she had a card sketch up that Imaginisce is hosting a challenge for.  I don't usually do challenge blog things, because I just don't have the time to do them.  But I was in the mood tonight!  So I pulled out the Scooter's Vacation line and started playing.  I am pretty happy with what I came up with!
Here is the sketch that I used, it is by Tammy Wark from the Imaginisce design team:
And here is what I came up with!  I am pretty happy with it, considering all the trouble I have doing cards. :)
Supplies:  Imaginisce Scooter's Vacation Line, Glue Art Adhesive, Cored'inations Cardstock,
Making Memories Slice with Travel USA Design Card

And you know me...I like to make things my own.  I was surfing around the other night and I happened across some different card sites (and I for the life of me cannot remember where I saw this idea at) and they talked about decorating the inside of your cards.  Well, I thought that was a SPLENDID idea, so I did on this one!  (and if someone knows of the blogs/sites I am talking about, please leave me a comment telling me where....I want to give credit where credit is due!)  How cute is that!?!  If you want more details about playing is a link to Imaginisce's blog!

So, I did get a little scrappy tonight.  I have MAJOR exciting news...but I can't spill it yet.  It will be a couple of months before I can.  AFTER CHA, I can tell you that.  I see lots of  "*****ng in my future!  That is the only hint you are getting.  :)

I am thinking of having a giveaway soon.  I have way more paper than I need or can use.  What do you think, should I????

Have a Scrappy Kinda Day!!~~Katrina
