Cards for Kindness from Scrapbook.com

Hey hey...it really seems like everything should be an April Fool's joke right?!  BUT, it gives us more time to create and that I am happy about.

I am sharing some cards today that use the new stamp set from Scrapbook.com called Cards For Kindness.  This is a wonderful, all around set that is great to make everyday cards with.  And this is also a card drive called "Cards for Kindness" that you can find out all the info on HERE.

I wasn't sure exactly what how I wanted to create my cards, but decided to try something I normally don't do and that was ink blending the fronts.  I was going to make shaker cards, but then I decided I wanted to keep them simple and easy for someone to recreate if they wanted!

I made the "Thinking of You" card first.  I started by blending a card front with some Distress Oxide inks.  For this card, I "think" I used Faded Jeans, Peacock Feathers and Fossilized Amber.  I do know, that I went back over the yellow area with Squeezed Lemonade, but it was not the original color I had picked for my blending trio.

I used the Nested Stars Die Set from Scrapbook.com to cut a star out of the top part of my panel.  I used my Misti stamping platform to line up the stamp with the star cut out.  I stamped directly on the pattern paper that I used for the background. Next, I used foam adhesive to pop the ink blended front up (this is where I opted NOT to make shaker cards!   I used the cut out star, plus a smaller one cut out of glitter paper and added them to the card front for a fun look.  This would be a great card for a boy or man in your life!

For my next card, I knew I wanted to go "girly"!  I ink blended Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar (with a little Worn Lipstick), Squeezed Lemonade and Peacock Feathers.  I used the Peacock Feathers to kind of "tie" the color schemes of the two cards together.   I don't like the line I can see between the pink and yellow, but the more I tried to blend it out, well, the worse it was getting, so I just left it.  I am not sure if it has to do with the weather and being humid here.  Our house is humid and we have to run a dehumidifier all year, so that could be the case for this one.

I used  the Nesting Heart Dies from Waffle Flower Crafts to cut out my heart center. I thought the "Hugs" sentiment was perfect for the color scheme.  The background paper is from the Pink Paislee collection "Lucky Us".  The colors matched perfectly and I love the flowers.

This card was made basically the same as the first, the differences being:  Ribbon tied around the card front; The card front is not popped up with foam adhesive like the Thinking of You card; and I added enamel dots to the heart die cut.

I love the fact that these cards "go together" but make a fun impact all on their own.  Now, I just need to perfect my ink blending!!

And don't forget to make some cards to donate to the Cards for Kindness card drive!  You can find all the rules for donating the cards HERE.

Thanks for stopping by and please....STAY HOME and STAY SAFE!
