Scrapping Our Stash March Blog Hop-17turtles and American Crafts

Welcome to the monthly "Scrapping Our Stash" blog hop!  When I found out about this group, I was super excited.  Why, you may ask?  Well, it's a way to motivate me to dig out those older collections and use them.

It's a relaxed type of group and hop.  Participate if you can, if not no worries!  It happens on the last Friday of each month and enjoy all that stash that you are hoarding and not using!

You should have come here from Wendy's blog.  I cannot wait to hop to see all the fun projects that everyone has created!

Here's my project and I am teaming the American Crafts Shimelle "Pretty Paper" collection along with a 17turtles cut file.  This layout honestly was not planned and I spent way too much time getting things the way I wanted on it!  But I had a ton of the collection and figured I need to at least use some of it!

And this "Shine Bright" cut file was perfect to use 6x6 papers from the collection to back the die cut with!  Double bonus!

I love that the cut file comes with that circle (the polka dot paper cut) behind it already made!  No need to do an offset, just size the circle with the size of your die cut!  Just a little added touch to the wood veneer.  The papers are so muted and I love bright color, so I just gave it a little pop of color there.

Foam adhesive ROCKS in my book!  I don't ever make a layout without it, seriously not kidding!  I love that ThermOWeb has strips and squares in different sizes.  And adding pattern papers to your die cuts hides that foam adhesive, giving your die cut more dimension and "focus" in your project.

I laid out all my banners and figured out color/placement/length before I started gluing things down.  I usually don't glue until the very very end.  I have been known to take a picture, so that I know where to put things back to!

So that's all from me for the hop!  Next stop is Suzanna.  Hope you enjoyed this fun 17turtles die cut combined with something "from my stash!"  Happy Friday.
