It's a 3 Birds Day On The Blog!

It's a 3 Birds Design day on the blog today.  Which means I have a post over on the 3 Birds Studio blog that has a different project!  You can see that project HERE!  Go check it out and say hi while you are there!

As you can tell, I have been making a lot of my personal 3 Birds blog projects cards.  Well, I have decided that I can stockpile these and give them out at work!  We all have mailboxes and there is a birthday list that is posted.  So, it's my goal to give everyone a card on their birthday!

This card features the Midday Medley collection with the Nestable Festival Sticker set and a NEW sticker set that will be debuting on HSN in July.  Let me tell you, I am IN LOVE with it.  I went to a crop and I played with that sticker set almost more than paper!  And can you say "mini alphas"??  Yes!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-3 Birds Design (Midday Medley); Cardstock-American Crafts; Glitter Paper-3 Birds Design (Midday Medley); Stickers-Nestable Sticker Festival & Sticker Flair Kit; Twine-May Arts; Adhesive-ThermOWeb (3D Foam Squares-Mini Tape Runner-Zots (Medium)

Back photo of the card.  The paper wraps around the front.  This is one of the papers in the collection that I love!  I think it's because it's different AND it can go girl or boy.  More boy, but trust me, I can girl it up!

Closer look at the front of the card.  The sticker on the front is a frame sticker from the Nestable Festival Sticker collection that I just trimmed down to fit the card.  It need a little kick on the front since there was a lot of tone on tone going on.

AND, I got ambitious and did the inside of the card also.  The two stickers in the center are from the Sticker Flair pack that I was talking about.

Everyone have a great Monday.  Or as great as a Monday can be!  I will have projects on the blog all week!

The Gang Mini Album with Imaginisce and Top Dog Dies

When I guested for Top Dog Dies, I had a mini album up over on their blog.  Since it's been a week or so, I thought I would share it here!  Warning picture heavy!

Supplies:  Chipboard-WorldWin Papers; Pattern Paper/Die Cuts-Imaginisce (Welcome Spring); Letters-American Crafts; Adhesives-ThermOWeb (Foam Squares, Glue Stick, Mini Tape Runner); Ribbon-May Arts; Die-Top Dog Dies (Photo Mat)

I thought I would show a step out picture here.  I used the lightweight chipboard from WorldWin Papers as my album base.  I cut two pieces per page and glued together to make them a little more sturdy.  And this chipboard WILL cut in the Cameo, in case you were wondering!

I kept the basic design the same for each page area.  Just mixed up placement of things, etc.  This makes a mini go really quickly!

Dream & Enjoy-A Gossamer Blue May Kit Layout

Back this Monday with a layout from my May Gossamer Blue kit.  Usually I try to mix my layouts up with the paper/color combos, but this kit I was drawn to certain papers and colors.  Maybe it was my mood, or maybe I felt these combos worked better than others!  Or it just happened for no rhyme or reason, I think that is probably it!

Looking back on this layout after I got it done, I wish I would have done a hexagon photo.  So, I guess I will save that in my back pocket for another layout.

The "dream" was a little too long for the area to work, so I clipped it between the r & e to make that area shorter.  I also trimmed off the end of the m a bit.

I just loved the random tags.  I used a lot of the printable files that came with the kit on this layout.

Seriously Loud-Sharing April Gossamer Blue Layout

Just a quick post of a layout I did with my Gossamer Blue April kit.  Yes, I like my music loud in the car.  Maybe not quite this loud, but loud.  When I plug in my phone, I have to turn the volume up a lot more than when it's just on radio or cd!

I thought the fun, bright colors went perfectly with the subject theme.  Plus, they just make me happy!

Guesting for Top Dog Dies

Whee!!  I am guesting over on the Top Dog Dies blog today with a project, but I have a project for my personal blog here also!  AND there is a designer giveaway also, but you have to go to the bottom of the post for that!

You can see my project for Top Dog Dies blog RIGHT HERE.  But I have a card for you today on my blog using the Imaginisce My Baby collection.  I was sent two different dies, a photo mat and then this onesie card.

Top Dog Die

You might notice that there is a slight crease here.  Well, I do not have the extender plates for my Cuttlebug and this die is a long one.  I was able to cut my paper the length I needed and use washi tape to hold the paper in place on the die.  Then I ran it thru my Cuttlebug twice, flipping around to the side that didn't have the extender plate, but placing the B plate back underneath and on top of the side that didn't cut.  It worked!

Family Picture with Gossamer Blue March Kits!

Meh, it's Monday and I definitely am not feeling the work vibe today!  (note-writing this Sunday night, so hopefully things change!).

Sharing another catch up layout with my Gossamer Blue kits.  This is from the March kit again. Thought it was appropriate to share, since Father's Day was yesterday and these are pictures of Sheldon, his daddy Cooper and sister Sassy.

Gossamer Blue March 2014 Main Kit and Add On(s)

Note again:  No supply listing, but I can tell you it's a lot of Teresa Collins, My Mind's Eye and Gossamer Blue papers.

So, from left to right:  Sassy, Cooper and Sheldon.  See the family resemblance?!  Sheldon is actually looking more and more like his daddy than he does here.

Just a quick little journaling to go on the page.  I have been trying to get the month and date for sure.  Not so good on the days, but I can work on that later.  Baby steps with journaling for me!

Quick post today.  Tomorrow I will be guesting with Top Dog Dies, so come back and see the fun. Plus…there could be a giveaway involved!  Have a great rest of your Monday, thanks for coming by!

A Pet Therapy Date Night Layout with Gossamer Blue's March Kit

Since I am playing catch up, I thought I would go ahead and post another layout from the March kit for this Friday the 13th.  WHOOOP!  Have I mentioned that I LOVE Friday the 13th, yep, I do!

So, from reading the blog, you probably know that we do pet therapy a couple of times a month.  One of the visits is to the peds floor of a local hospital.  Ella goes on this visit and we meet another team to tag along with.  Nicki and Zodiac are the team.  Luckily the lobby was cleared out and I snapped this picture after our visit one night.  Zodiac and Ella make quite the striking pair, don't you think?!

Supply Note:  I did not happen to write these down as I was working.  AND because I waited to late to post this, I cannot remember for sure everything.  So, I am just listing the kit and the month!  Sorry!

I thought the ticket sticker would be cute, although, it really should say "two" now that I am looking at it!  LOL  Oh well!

And this was a challenge at a crop.  Someone had this butterfly die cut and challenged me to use it on a layout.  I just inked them gold and threw them on here!  I think they worked out pretty well.

All I can say, is that I am glad it's Friday!  Have a FANTABULOUS weekend and I will be back next week!

Card and Envelope with 3 Birds Design

Today I am up over on the 3 Birds Studio blog with a gift bag, card and envelope set.  There is also a tutorial on how I made the gift bag.  BUT, I am only revealing the card and how I did the envelope here on my blog.  You will have to head over to 3 Birds to see my gift bag!  You can find that post HERE.

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Chipboard, 3D Embellishments-3 Birds Design (Graceful Season); Stamp-3 Birds Design (Midday Medley); Punch-Martha Stewart; Cardstock-WorldWin Papers; Ink-Prima Chalk Ink; Adhesive-Therm O Web

Silhouette Cameo with the following cut file:
Decorative Square Envelope
Design ID #42058

Close up of the card.  I used Therm O Web 3D Foam Squares to pop up that top border and then the fun chipboard from 3 Birds.

So, to make the envelope, I opened the the cut file and resize it to fit my 4.5 x 4.5 card.  I actually made the inside square 5 x 5.  I just moved the image around until I could see on the guides that the inside square was sized at 5 x 5. Then cut this out of cardstock, or whatever paper you like.

After you cut the file, then you are going to use the eraser tool to erase the extra lines that you don't need.  I just picked the biggest round eraser and went to work.  Leave the top part of the envelope and the score lines for the top part.  Anything else, erase, erase, erase.  This also helps you save paper.  Once you have everything that needs to be erased done, cut your file again, using a coordinating paper.
Your strip will look "funny" if you resize, because it will mess up the proportions of the piece. LOL

Then pull off your mat and use your trimmer to trim at the score lines.  I then trimmed a little more off the top, so that I could use the cardstock as an accent at the bottom of the scallop.

So that's it!  That is how you alter the file to create a custom envelope!  How fun is that.  I have actually used this twice now and plan on using it more.  Thanks for stopping by today.
