Here and Now-Hybrid Layout

I am just going to say it.  It's hard, so hard for me to blog right now. I know it will get better, but honestly, I am forcing myself to do this blog post.  Just to have some normalcy and some routine would be good for me I know.  We miss Higgins terribly, but in the meantime we are worried about Ella and her back issues.  We are now waiting on a cart to get here for her to help her get around better once we can get to that point.

I had a crop to go to this weekend, along with projects that were due and needed to be done.  I didn't want to go, but I did.  I had a few pictures printed before packing for the crop and these were a couple of them.  I just cannot do a layout or post one of the dogs for this post.  Too hard.....

The June Storyteller Challenge for Just Jaimee was to use our choice of a template for a layout.  Score, I can do that and it was perfect since I really wasn't in the mood to think about anything.  I love how this layout turned out.
Supplies: Digital Kit-Just Jaimee Storyteller June 2016 VIP subscription; Cardstock-American Crafts; Paper-Epson Premium Presentation Paper; Silhouette Cameo with Print and Cut; Adhesive-Therm O Web

The June Storyteller collection from Just Jaimee over at The Lilypad was the perfect kit to scrap these photos of Lauren graduating from high school.  Honestly, when I looked at the pictures after I took them, I was trying to figure out how the heck I was going to scrap them and what I was going to scrap them with.  Even though the theme is a little nautical for the kit, it works!  And the blues/reds mesh well together!

I have a hard time using 3x4 cards on my layouts.  If you want to know the truth, I think it's because I like to pile stuff on my layouts and the cards just don't seem to fit in the mix!  BUT, doing hybrid I can shrink those cards down to a size that will work!!  That's what I did with this "here and now" card.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  Also thank you for the condolences on Higgins.  And if you just weren't sure what to write or say, I totally get that too.  Bring on Tuesday.

Higgins 10/2002-6/10/2016

You were the bestest boy we could ever have. You came into our lives when we thought we didn't want a puppy, because Fannie was older. You (and Marla) proved us wrong. It took three weeks and you had Fannie chasing you around the yard and showing you the ropes of living here. You stole our hearts and souls with those blue eyes and funny ears. "look Mom, the dog is wearing a hat" is one of the most favorite things I have ever heard said about you when the boy was talking about your ears.
Some thought you couldn't be a therapy dog, well they were wrong. You were so great with the Alzheimer's patients and kids.
Agility, well, you wanted that on your terms and for fun...screw that competition stuff and rules.
Lawn mower, you thought the mower needed help by herding it around the yard. The mower needed to be shown were to go and you were leading the way.
Scrapping buddy, the best of them. You knew how to keep momma company with all the paper and even get into her storage to tell her she didn't need more, that you needed that for your space!
Costumes, bring them on. They were fun and you loved the attention you got wearing them. You would get so mad if we brought one home and did NOT put it on you. You did everything to please us, and you didn't even have to. You had our hearts from the very beginning and will always have them no matter your absence.
There are so many other things, things we are too upset to remember, things we want to just keep close and things you will continue to teach us about how to enjoy everyday.
Fly with those Batman wings and cape, run free and tell Fannie and Toby about how you kept us all in line and helped heal hearts in the process. We love you sweet boy and will see you again soon.

Old Friends-Scrapping With Liz June Blog Challenge

Hey there!!  The June blog challenge is up over at Scrapping With Liz and YOU need to go grab the template and play along!  This is a fun template and a great one for your to practice with or even attempt to do a digital layout if you want!  You can grab the template HERE.

I did another hybrid layout with a kit from The Digital Press designer creashens called "Found".  I just love the whimsical feel to her kits!

Supplies: Digital Kit and Elements-creashens; Letters-American Crafts; Enamel Dots-Doodlebug Designs; Punch-Martha Stewart; Adhesive-Therm O Web

I love how easy Liz's templates are to use.  I didn't really change it up much at all, just added some more stuff than it had!  I traced the arrow in my Cameo software, filled with a pattern from the digital kit and then print and cut!  BAM!

I love this picture I managed to snag of Higgins and Cooper. It's like they are telling secrets!

Cooper is 11 and Higgins is our old boy at 13.5 years.  Cooper is Sheldon's dad and we have known him since he was a pup and has been a visitor here at our house several times. We just love his sweet nature!

Aren't all those elements in the kit adorable!?!  I love these little butterflies/lightening bugs!  They remind me of both!

So go over, grab that template and start creating!  Make sure you link up, so that you are in on the giveaway!!!  Have a great Tuesday!!!

Class of 2016-The Cut Shoppe and Shimelle

This is my next to last project for The Cut Shoppe.  I decided that I wanted to delve into some stuff just for me and it was time for someone to jump on board and rock the cut files!  The new DT will be announced soon and I cannot wait to see who made it.

The Graduate cut file set came at just the right time, since I know two girls that graduated this year! This is the layout for the first one. I didn't get to go to her graduation, because we were out of town, but managed to get to her party. The lighting was neon orange behind us, so I edited the photo quite a bit to tone it down and then just had to go with it and find paper that worked with it!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Stickers, Die Cuts, Chipboard-American Crafts; Flair-A Flair for Buttons Etsy Shoppe; Doily-Wilton; Enamel Dots-Simple Stories; Kraft Envelope-Maya Road; Adhesive-Therm O Web

And here's the image of the cut file I used
The Graduate

I just backed that cut file with some fun colors of pattern paper so that it would work with the photo better!

Then I found a flair button that just seemed to fit with some of the colors and I loved the way it looked when I laid it on the page!

And this top corner just needed some things to balance out the page, so I did a little cluster of goodies up in it.

That's all from me today.  Be sure to watch for my last post for The Cut Shoppe later in the month.  Have a great weekend!

Work Selfie-Maya Road

So, there was a day at work I was just being silly.  I actually think I took this selfie for some online crop that I couldn't participate in at the time and it was the only way I could!  You cannot really see it, but there is a TRex located in the bottom of the photo.  I might be a little TRex crazy right now!

This was up on the Maya Road blog mid month and I went totally opposite of how I usually scrap. I did a clean and simple (well for me) layout along with not a lot going on.  WHAT, you say?!  LOL  Hey, a girl likes to keep it interesting!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Stickers-Basic Grey; Enamel Dots-Pebbles; Banners, Flower, Resin Frame, Arrow Clip, Kraft Tag, Hello Flair-Maya Road; Twine-May Arts; Adhesive-Therm O Web

I love the new little acrylic tokens that Maya Road has.  It just fit perfect right where I put it with a little tabbed label underneath it.  (look close, you can see Tuesday the TRex!)

And then I just made a little cluster over the "today" tag.  Not too much to it, but it took me forever fiddling with it to get it just right!!!

It's almost Friday people!  And that means the weekend it coming, and after having three days off last week, I am going to need another weekend.  Happy Thursday
