Spring is In The Air-Scrapping With Liz

So, I am going to be brave and post my first full digital layout.  Yep, you read that right!  And NO this does not mean I will quit playing with paper, glue and all things touchy, feely.  It's fun to be able to just sit down, play and learn new things. Also nice to be able to do this if we are out of town at Carleen's dad's...just pack the laptop and EHD and I am scrapping if I want!  Some may not know this, but I actually started scrapping digitally and then went the paper route!  But, let us not look at my first few layouts, those are for very few eyes only!

One thing that is weird is I have no "close-up" shots to share!  That's the drawback with digital, basically one picture and done.   But easy thing with digital is that you can use a template and learn a little at you go along.  Main thing is just working with one layer at a time.

I am already discovering a few favorites in the digital world that are becoming my go to supplies:  Scrapping with Liz templates (she is who got me started again!), Just Jaimee (love her stuff!), Mommyish (fun stuff, plus fun styles and actions), Fiddle Dee Dee Designs (she has some some fun templates also!), Amber LaBau (so excited, she is collaborating with Fancy Pants and will have printed collections!!!) and One Little Bird...to name a few!

So here's my layout!  I used a Scrapping with Liz template that I will link below so you can take a look at it.  I honestly, was going to do this with paper, but didn't feel like printing out pictures, so did a digital layout instead!

This was done with a kit from Mommyish called "Spring Has Sprung" and this Scrapping with Liz Template-Papers are Fun,  Here is a peek of all the templates in the kit.  I want to do them all in paper, because there are so many possibilities!!

Those layers on the right sided pages.  EPP!  Love!  So many fun things to do with these.  There  are some amazing layouts in The Lilypad gallery using these.  Yes, most of them (if not all!) are going to be digital, but they are so neat to look at!

Ok, that's all from me today!!  Have a great Tuesday!!!

Friend Cards with Taylored Expressions and Therm O Web

Last week, Therm O Web and Taylored Expressions teamed up for a little product swap on their company blogs. If you don't know about Taylored Expressions, they make some adorable products (stamps, dies, embossing folders) for card making.

I had fun with the Quick Critters stamp and die combo along with the Bead Board embossing folder.  I have step out pictures and instructions over on the Therm O Web blog HERE.  Be sure to check them out on how I made my cards!

Supplies: Pattern Paper-Basic Grey; Stamps, Die, Embossing Folder-Taylored Expressions; Sequins-WeRMemory Keepers; Ink-Memento; Ribbon-May Arts; Adhesive-Therm O Web; Cardstock-American Crafts

I started with my three dog card.  I guess you could call it a three dog night card?!  Sorry, bad bad pun and I couldn't help it!

Aren't they cute!!!

Then I challenged myself just to do a card with the embossing folder and the stamps that came with the die set.

There were not dies for the sentiments, so I just hand cut those out.

So some fun cards to send out and a fun company to get goodies from.  It's a win win!  Have a great day!!

Moments Captured-Just Jaimee Hybrid Layout

So, I am not sure what happened over at Shimelle, but if the post goes live I will let you know!  Sorry about that, I am waiting to hear back.

I decided to jump into the Just Jaimee Storyteller challenge over at The Lilypad this month.  The challenge was a large photo with pops of color using the May Storyteller collection.  Well I have been wanting to scrap a large photo for awhile and what a fun idea!  Here is my take on the challenge

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Digital Elements-Just Jaimee May Storyteller; Ribbon-Unknown; Stapler-Tiny Attache; Adhesive-Therm O Web; Pen-Signo

Baby Sheldon!!!!  I just put the elements I wanted into my Silhouette software, traced them.  Then printed and cut!  Well and glued!!!  LOL

It's fun to add little touches to the digital elements once they are printed out.  I added white dots on random letters for the title. I also folded and bent some of the edges of the papers, just for fun.

Here is a shot of my page of elements after I printed, but before I cut.  The main thing is once you print, DO NOT move anything on your screen.  The cutter bases the cutting lines on the registration marks, so if you move an element on your screen, well, it will not be cut right!  And don't place elements in the area where the registration marks are on the screen.  It will mess up how the marks are read and you will end up with cut lines everywhere, but where you want them!  I will go into more details if you want.  Let me know!

That's all from me today, but I am up over on the Scrapping with Liz blog sharing how I resized a template to work with a paper layout.  You can find my post HERE.

& Awesome He Took My Crate-Jillibean Soup/The Cut Shoppe

Hope everyone has recovered from InterNational Scrapbooking Weekend!  LOL  Me, well I didn't get to play as much as I would have liked, but it's ok, because I was doing some other fun stuff!

Sharing a layout that was up on the Cut Shoppe blog last Friday using the And Love cut file.   And you know I love a good and funny title.  Mix a funny title and this cut file and I come up with the layout below!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Bow, Tags, Stickers-Jillibean Soup; Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye; Letters-American Crafts, Jillibean Soup; Flair Button-A Flair for Buttons; Adhesive-Therm O Web

Here is a look at the "And Love" file that I used

I added a flair button and some die cuts that were in the Jillibean Soup collection to the cut file and also created an offset for the file.

And those adorable felt bows in this collection, well I had to use one.  And, of course, a doily!  Who could forget a doily!

Well, that's all from me today for this Monday.  Which, btw, is a Missouri holiday...former President Harry Truman's birthday!  Ok, you have had your history lesson for the day!
