Hello My Name Is....Scrap Our Stash October Guest Designer

After participating in a sketch challenge over at "Scrap Our Stash", they asked me to guest design for the month of October! So, I am sharing my layout here on my blog and their blog today for one of their October Challenges!

Hello_AARP_Scrapbook_Layout_Jillibean_Soup_Katrina_Hunt_1000Signed-1
Supplies: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Chipboard Letters, Stickers, Wood Veneer-Jillibean Soup; Letter Stickers-October Afternoon; Twine-May Arts; Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye; Keys-Fancy Pants; Stencil-Studio Calico; Modeling Paste; Adhesive-Therm O Web; Pan Pastels; Ink-Studio Calico, Faber Castell Gelatos

They have a few different challenges and this one was to use an item in your stash for each of the following letters:  I.N.K.S.  You think it's easy, but I was stumped for a bit! I really wanted to use something other than "ink" for I, but I just couldn't figure anything else out!

So, here you can see I used the following-Ink (I), name tag for part of my title (N) and then I used a stencil (S) for my background.  NOTE: This was the first time Carleen used her AARP discount!  We went to see Jurassic World.

And I just attached some gold keys (K) from the Fancy Pants collection "Office Suite" here as an accent. And that little flair button from {a flair for buttons} was too adorable not to use. That space needed a little something and it fit right in there.

Crazy, I cannot believe it is October 1st?!  But that means-cooler temps, colorful leaves, and FALL!  Plus "Pets and Pumpkins" is coming up in a couple of weeks and we cannot wait to take the dogs.  We have a blast and they do too.  Happy Thursday and make sure to play along!

Boo Crew-Therm O Web and Crate Paper

Ok, every year I make a Halloween layout of the dogs and I always think it's my favorite. Then the next year comes along and nope, THIS is my favorite layout! This one, I will say took me a lot more time than previous ones, because I just kept adding to it.  It's a fault I tell you...and a sickness!

This was on the Therm O Web blog yesterday and I have a lot of DecoFoil goodies on here, with different techniques and different looks. This Crate Paper collection was my favorite Halloween collection that came out this year, but it definitely needed some color!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Wood Veneer, Vellum, Chipboard-Crate Paper; Cardstock-American Crafts; Letters-Crate Paper, American Crafts; Twine-May Arts; Adhesives, DecoFoil-Therm O Web; Tag-Crate Paper, Maya Road; Embossing Folder-Lifestyle Crafts; Silhouette Cameo with Cutting Files

I first added a touch of color here, by using gold DecoFoil for the lid of the wood veneer jar. I actually used two different foils here, the gold and opal.  I used the liquid DecoFoil adhesive on my wood veneer and then just covered each area with the color of foil I wanted to use.  Super easy, super quick...you just have a little dry time for the liquid after you put it on.

Here is where I added some major color with purple DecoFoil!  Again I used the same technique as above, but instead of just rubbing the foil with my finger to adhere it to the glue, I burnished it with a bone folder.  Notice, it's shiny, just a different kind of shiny!  I loved the purple color for this piece and area of my layout.

And the bats!  These are my favorite part of the entire layout!  I used the DecoFoil Hot Melt adhesive and a laminator to make these.  If you aren't familiar with the Hot Melt, it is similar to fusing that you can use in sewing.  It's double sided adhesive.  I took a piece of cardstock the same size as my Hot Melt sheet and adhered the Hot Melt to my cardstock by running thru a laminator.  Once you do that, then you can die cut your cardstock/hot melt just like you would cardstock.   Then remove the protective top layer on the adhesive, add foil and run back thru the laminator!  After foiling, I then embossed a couple of the bats!

That's all I have for you today!  Hope I didn't drive you "batty"!  Heehee, I couldn't resist.  Have a great Wednesday and I will be back tomorrow!

6 Favs-Fancy Pants Designs and CREATE

Have you checked out the new issue of CREATE yet?  Well, get going if you haven't! I thought I would share a layout today that I made for the journaling challenge for this issue.

The challenge was to use an interview as your journaling.  So, I did a little different take and did a "current favorites" interview and listed them all on journaling tags around the layout.  I love how this turned out. And it's a great way to use those fun tags that Fancy Pants had in one of their embellishment packs for Office Suite!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Letters, Tags-Fancy Pants Designs; Twine-Maya Road; Cut File-The Cut Shoppe; Pen-Sharpie; Silhouette Cameo; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

And on this tag, I still have half of it to use! Great way to stretch your supplies.  Although, I could probably use a few "less" supplies and more projects done!
6_Favs_Scrapbook_Layout_Fancy_Pants_Designs_Katrina_Hunt_1000Signed-3

Lots of fun with this title work.  Run out of room, just stack your letters on top of one another slightly!
6_Favs_Scrapbook_Layout_Fancy_Pants_Designs_Katrina_Hunt_1000Signed-2

The gold on those tags makes them stand out, don't you think?!  I was just lucky that the one tag was long enough for her favorite food!

AND, if you are local or want to road trip, Scrapbook Generation is having a warehouse sale at the store here this Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Watch their Facebook page for more details!  I don't even know any more than that!

Have a great Tuesday!

Waiting for Mom-Scrapping Our Stash Hop & WeR Memory Keepers

Hey there! It's like I checked out for the week.  BUT I had a good excuse, I was on a deadline with a pretty big project that I will be able to share soon.  So, I had to get it done!  I wasn't sure I was going to participate in the hop this month, but managed to squeak out this layout at the last minute with some of my OLD stash!

You may have arrived from Majken's blog, which is great!  But if you didn't, I will have the entire hop list at the end of my post. We have a small one this month, so it would be great to grab a cuppa and hop thru in a short amount of time!

I pulled out some old WeR Memory Keepers for this one and I am not even sure of the name of the collection. I actually have only made a card from this, so this layout was fun to do. I do remember that the collection came out back when the chalkboard phase was first beginning, if that helps any!

Ella had her checkup with Dr. B a couple of weeks ago. I had opened my hatch on my Element to put Ella in and the bag of food we had gotten and Ella was waiting for Carleen to finish up paying the bill. I had snap a quick pic of her with my phone, because she was just so darn cute!

One of the fun things about the stickers that came with the collection, is that they are somewhat embossed. I just tucked some things in here and there to make my little corner!

Love these chalkboard tags from Maya Road.  I just used a white marker to make some dots on it.

Ok, here is the complete hop list for this month.  Head over to Cheryl's blog and see what she has up her sleeve!  And take time to go thru the hop and get inspired!  I will probably be doing that on Sunday.  Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Selfie-The Cut Shoppe and Cocoa Vanilla

Whee!!  Friday I am ready for you this week!!  And I am so excited to share this layout also, it's up over on The Cut Shoppe blog today.  If you want "details" I am going to head you over there to grab the scoop.  You can find the post HERE.

Here let's just share the good stuff!  The project and the close ups!  Love this girl!  Jessica is a wonderful soul and has a wonderful family.  They came down here and we all went out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. I got her to snap a selfie with me really quick before they headed back home. And watch for pics with the kids too!

Funny thing about this picture.  Well, not quite this picture, because I had to retake it. I took my project pictures and didn't decide to edit them until later that night. As I pulled this project up, when I got to this picture there was a green clover bug on the letter "f"!  Then I got to looking and he was in every shot I had taken.  So, I had to do a retake the next day!  Darn bugs.

I love this collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio. Actually there isn't a collection that Zoe has put out that I don't fall in love with immediately.  I am waiting on the new ones to get here and I cannot wait to play with them.

If you are wondering about the cut files I used, here they are.

Hello Autumn with The Cut Shoppe/Simple Stories and a Maya Road Peek!

Just a quick share today of the card I made for The Cut Shoppe and Simple Stories swap that is going on this week.  There are prizes to be won, so make sure you check out both blogs for the week!

I created this with an older cut file that I had, not realizing it was not available anymore.  BUT it gives you an idea of something else you can do with cut files!  Create shaped cards. I just did an offset and then welded the two triangles together. Added some decorations to the front and BAM, instant super cute card!

Just a close up.  You can see how I popped up the layer on the card front. It's a great way to give some depth to your projects using cut files.

Hello Critter Patrol-A Flair For Buttons and Crate Paper

This new Crate Paper collection "Wonder" I wasn't sure about getting.  I really "wondered" about it.  HA!  But then there was just something that made me go ahead and pick it up!  And it worked perfectly with my new {a flair for buttons} project that was up on the blog yesterday!

Supplies-Pattern Paper, Chipboard, Tags-Crate Paper; Stickers-Crate Paper, Pebbles, Chickandiddy Crafts; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Ribbon-Unknown; Flair-{a flair for buttons}; Silhouette Cameo with cutting files

I used a couple of different flair sets on this. I love to mix and match the flair, so easy and so fun!

Hello_Critter_Patrol_Scrapbook_Layout_A_Flair_For_Buttons_Crate_Paper_Katrina_Hunt_1000Signed-2

Flair is a great way to anchor places on your layout, like the tag above.  I also thought the ribbon strip was a little naked, so I lined the flair up across it.

The two flair sets I used were: Sunburst Brights and Today Words sets.  Here is a look at both sets!

And that is all from me today!  Stop back tomorrow if you like!  It's a busy week here on the blog! Happy Thursday!

The Cut Shoppe and Simple Stories Team Up-Adventure Is Out There

The Cut Shoppe and Simple Stories are teaming up this week and I was lucky enough to get in on the fun!  I created a layout and card with the Simple Stories "Pumpkin Spice" collection.  I am going to share my layout here today and you can see the card and layout over on The Cut Shoppe blog!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Stickers-Simple Stories; Twine-May Arts; Doily-Doodlebug Design; Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye; Cardstock-American Crafts; Silhouette Cameo with The Cut Shoppe cut file; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

I used this cut file from The Cut Shoppe for my layout and you can find the file HERE  to purchase. There is also a giveaway over on both The Cut Shoppe blog and the Simple Stories blog, so you are definitely going to want to enter on both!

Adventure_Is_Out_There_Scrapbook_Layout_Simple_Stories_The_Cut_Shoppe_Katrina_Hunt_1000Signed-2
I just sized it down to fit my picture in an area where there was a lot of open space. Not something I usually plan for, but it worked this time! And ThermOWeb Sticky Dot Sheets work GREAT for these types of cuts!

I also used the Borderlines cut file, and I have used this one before. I love to take the "hello" and play with color combos!

So that's all from me today on this little ole blog!  Be sure to check out both The Cut Shoppe blog and the Simple Stories blog for your chance to win! Happy Wednesday!

Fall Cards with ThermOWeb and DecoFoil

Sharing a couple of fall cards here today that were on the ThermOWeb blog last week.  I used the fun DecoFoil, along with Hot Melt Adhesive sheets and embossing folders to create these.

My first card has some fun Imaginisce embellishments and uses the Decofoil in Pumpkin.  Add an embossing folder from We R Memory Keepers and you have a fun, bright card!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts-Imaginisce; Cardstock-American Crafts; Twine-May Arts; Adhesive and DecoFoil-ThermOWeb; Embossing Folder-WeRMemory Keepers

The Pumpkin color of DecoFoil is one of my favorite colors in the line.  I could use it for just about everything if it would work!

Next I tried to do a different color take on a fall card by using some pink/rose/gold colors.  Not sure if it worked, but at the very least, it's fun!

I will be back tomorrow for our monthly "Scrapping Your Stash" blog hop.  No telling what I will use out of my stash this time!
