Wonder When The Next One Is??-Echo Park and Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop

It's hard to believe that it is time for another "Scrapping Our Stash" blog hop! I will have to say that the collection I used for this, I don't have much left at all.  Which I am happy about, but I do love the collection.

The hop starts at Cathy's blog and you may have arrived from Majken's blog, but don't worry if not, I will have the entire list posted at the end of this post.

This is based on a sketch over at Paper Issues.  I just flipped it basically and added more stuff of course!  You can find the sketch HERE that was inspired by Nicole Samuels and a project she did for American Crafts.

Best thing is I used lots of extras from my stash that I didn't know I had!  All those buttons are some old My Mind's Eye, the "wonder" part of the time is some old Heidi Swapp. I just started digging around in a basket to figure out what would work.   I need to do that more!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Flair, Arrows, Chipboard-Echo Park; Stickers-Echo Park, Heidi Swapp; Tag-Elle's Studio; Paper Bag, Pinwheel-Jillibean Soup; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Doily-Wilton; Dog Clip-Unknown (aka Juliana Michaels!)

So when Juliana came to visit, she brought me some goodies as a surprise!! That includes that cute little craft bag, dog clip and pinwheel. They fit just right and worked with my layout so well, I had to use them.

And this is a great way to use all those little phrase stickers that come on sticker sheets.  I picked out ones that would work with my layout.  I lucked out, since this collection is "art and creating" based.

That's all I have for you today! I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop.  We usually sneak our projects to each other, but I haven't seen a lot of them, so I cannot wait to see what everyone created. Have a great weekend!  Head to Sandy's blog now!!

And She #Roadtripped-We R Memory Keepers

Something exciting happened over the weekend.  Usually a crop is exciting enough, but at this crop I got to my one of my online scrapping besties in REAL LIFE!  Juliana Michaels made plans for a big old road trip to see her parents and included the crop and me in it!

She came in on Thursday and as soon as she pulled up in the driveway I was out the door to give her a big hug.  We all (Carleen included!) went out to dinner at a local Mexican restaurant here and then stopped and got Andy's Frozen Custard.  Honestly, it's like we have know each other forever!

We took this picture Friday morning at the crop and I ended up printing it so we could scrap it.  She will have her own version of a layout on her blog soon!
Supplies: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts-WeRMemory Keepers; Mist-Heidi Swapp; Ink-Prima; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

I started clustering embellies and I did use lots of foam adhesive here! But things would have gotten lost if I hadn't.  This isn't normally a collection I would have bought, but there was something about it that caught my eye.

Inking the "&" had to be done, because it just wasn't showing up.  I might have had blue ink everywhere!

And that's all from me today.  Juliana is super sweet and just as she seems online!  Hope we get to do it again sometime.  Until then Skype will have to do and phone calls!  Happy Thursday!

Throw Kindness Around-{a flair for buttons} & Jillibean Soup

Sharing a layout today that was up on the {a flair for buttons} blog yesterday.  I did this layout at a crop over the weekend and it came together quickly.  Which is kind of amazing considering how much I usually don't get done at a crop!
Supplies: Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Wood Veneer, Stickers-Jillibean Soup; Doily-Wilton; Crochet Heart-Bella Blvd.; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Cut File-The Cut Shoppe; Silhouette Cameo and Sketch Pens

That fun piece of flair from the "Love" Gold Foil Flair set is made with DecoFoil from ThermOWeb! So I had to have it to use!

Bittersweet day that this picture was taken.  And since it was the "end" of something this year, I thought the "this year" flair from the "Today Words" set was calling me to use it.  And that tag from Jillibean also!

That's all for this Thursday.  Stay tuned for more crafty goodness heading to this blog soon!

She Made Me Walk-Cocoa Vanilla Studio and a SOS Sketch Challenge

I don't know about you, but I think crops are a perfect time to create for challenges. I just got one done at this last crop, because of other things that were due, but I loved how it turned out.

This is a sketch challenge over at Scrap Our Stash (not to be confused with the blog hop I do at the end of the month usually, totally different!).  Audrey Yeager made the sketch and I fell in love with it. It also has a "bingo" type board to use three items in a row, across, down, diagonal, etc.  I choose the bottom row: Yellow, Wood Veneer, Mist/Paint.

I pulled out my Cocoa Vanilla, since it had all the requirements, except for the mist/paint.  Those are easy to add.
Supplies: Pattern Paper, Wood Veneer, Die Cuts; Sequins, Vellum Stars, Flair, Enamel Dots-Cocoa Vanilla Studio; Stickers-Cocoa Vanilla Studio & Glitz Designs; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Mist-Heidi Swapp (Navy); Silhouette Cameo with cutting file.

I started piecing my layout from the top down of this side. Frankly, this top section didn't change too much over the course of the layout!

If you follow me on Instagram  (@katrinahunt), you probably saw a sneak of this section.  And if you aren't following me, jump in and do it!  I post sneaks all the time of what I am working on, plus lots of cute pictures of the dogs!

And yes, I HATE to walk!  Part of it, I admit I am lazy.  The other  part is my feet sometimes hurt when I walk long distance.  GRANTED the parking garage was not long distance, I just was being lazy!

I have been hanging onto this collection to use for the dogs, but it worked so well with my picture I went for it!  And if you are wondering what "Cashew Craze" is, well that is for another post!  Happy Tuesday everyone!

Berry Sweet-The Rubber Cafe

Back on this fine Monday with another project for The Rubber Cafe.  By now, you have probably seen my other projects that I have done.  BUT if you haven't you can find them HERE and HERE.  The Rubber Cafe has a kit club called Creative Cafe and it has everything in it you need to make a lot of cards!  The Creative Cafe kit for August is called HomeGrown.

For this card, I played with only ONE piece of pattern paper!  I create a background with a single stamp, embossing and watercoloring.  This Zig Gansai Watercolors that I told you about a while back that I got, well I LOVE them!  I used them for this card!

Supplies: Creative Cafe Kit-The Rubber Cafe; Watercolor Paints-Zig Gansai; Ink-Versamark and Versafine; Embossing Powder-American Crafts Zing; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

I am mainly just going to show the detail pictures here, but you can find tips and tricks on my post for The Rubber Cafe blog HERE.

The main lesson I learned while doing this technique is DAUB, don't wipe!  LOL  I smeared a little of the green, but it was done so I went with it!

I had thought about repeating the word "berry" but then decided I liked it the way it was!  It would be cute that way also!

I have one more project for The Rubber Cafe, but not sure when I will share it.  But be sure to check out all the fun things their designers create over on their blog! Have a great rest of your day!

Jam Packed-The Rubber Cafe

Today, well it's Monday!  And it's my second post for The Rubber Cafe today.  Psst...I am starting to like coloring stamps!!!!!  I have a fun little card using a border punch and the same stamp set in different color variations.

I am going to let you grab all the details and my thought process on making this from The Rubber Cafe blog.  You can find that post HERE.  I talk about how and why I did some things the way I did!

Supplies: Creative Cafe Kit-The Rubber Cafe; Watercolor Pencils-Faber Castell; Markers-Zig Clean Color Real Brush; Ink-Versafine; Pen-Zig; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Punch-Martha Stewart

I loved the little basket of berries!  I thought they would be fun in a repeating pattern with different colors.  The middle basket is just stamped on khaki cardstock and then I shaded in the openings with a brown watercolor pencil.

The saying fit so well with the overflowing baskets, I had to figure out how to use it with my card!

So, this post was jam packed with pictures!  Hope you have a great Monday and I cannot believe that August is half over.  It's craziness!!!

Happy 12th Birthday and An Announcement!

Ella boo bear had her 12th birthday in July, so I had to take some pictures of her on the special day.  This is one of the funny ones.  Darn girl, kept closing her eyes!!

Using the Pinkfresh "Happy Things" again.  I had finished up the other layout and a card, so I decided to keep going with it!
Supplies: Pattern Paper, Linen Tag, Stickers-Pinkfresh Studio; Flair-{a flair for buttons}; Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Cut Files-The Cut Shoppe

Whichhhh...leads me to my announcement!  I am excited to say that I am joining The Cut Shoppe Design Team starting in September!  Check out the announcement HERE and all the wonderful, crafty people that will be joining me!

And now for some close-ups of my layout!  I added a couple of pieces of flair, because I needed a little something extra!

That little piece of heart flair went so cute with everything.  The "happy" banner is from the "It's My Party" set.  Those little hearts on the tops were begging for some twine to run thru them!

This is the cut file that started the layout.  I knew that this paper from the collection would be fun with the Spread Your Wings cut file.  I didn't adhere everything down, so that I could bend the wings up!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I think I will take a break for Friday this week.  I have some things I need to get done, but cannot show!  Have a great weekend!!

Play & Have A Lovely Day-Pinkfresh Studio

So, it's Wednesday and a week from now I will have a couple of days off work!  I cannot wait, because a scrappy friend is coming to town to visit and crop! Now, I just need to get all my crop packing done before she gets here!

Scrapbook Generation got in the new Pinkfresh Studios collection, Happy Things, and I knew I had to have it. Because, well, pink and it looked fun!

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Wood Veneer, Glitter Foam, Tag, Stickers-Pinkfresh Studios; Pen-Sharpie; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

I went pretty basic with this layout and didn't spend a ton of time on it. It actually sat on my table for a couple of days before I finished it. I think there is so much going on in the background paper, it didn't need a whole lot.

I love the little letter sticker in the collection.  And there are five colors that come in the pack!  Score!

And that's a wrap for this Wednesday!  And I WILL be back tomorrow with some fun stuff, so come back to check it out!

Smile with Maya Road

I am back today with my latest project for the Maya Road blog.  I decided to make a card, since I had done a couple of layouts and an altered project! Honestly, it's hard for me to decide what to make for my projects, because I want to use everything I have that is Maya!

Supplies: Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern Paper-PinkFresh Studio; Canvas Tag, Felt Flower, Kraft Embellishments, Transparent Butterflies, Trinket Pins, Clothes Pin-Maya Road; Enamel Dots-Freckled Fawn; Punch-Martha Stewart; Mist-Heidi Swapp; Gesso; Faber-Castell Gelatos; Ribbon-May Arts; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

This card measures 5x7 inches, but it gave me more room to play. I had a misting "accident", so I doubled up the ribbon bow and tucked those cute little pins in around the bows!

I just had a lot of fun clustering embellishments together and layering. And how fun is that pink color that I ended up with mixing three colors of Gelatos together!!

That's all today!  Hope you have a great Tuesday and remember "Smile"! I hope to be back tomorrow, but not sure yet.

To Plant a Garden-The Rubber Cafe Guest Design

Today is my first posting as the guest designer for The Rubber Cafe. I will have a total of four projects thru out the month on their blog.  You can find their blog HERE and their kits HERE.  They have what is called the "Creative Cafe" kit that comes out every month and includes everything you need to make several cards, include a stamp set. There is an additional stamp set that coordinates, that is an add-on.

Let's get to my card!  I went pretty easy with this, since it has been awhile since I have stamped. Actually I take that back, I have stamped, I just haven't shown it!

Supplies: Creative Cafe Kit-The Rubber Cafe; Watercolor Pencils-Faber Castell; Ink-Versafine; Pen-Signo Uniball; Shimmer Pen-Wink of Stella; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

I was sent the Farm Fresh kit, which is the kit for August to use. It includes a 6x6 paper pad from Echo Park, several different cardstocks, trims and more.  I just added my ink, watercolor pencils and adhesive!  Details, tips and tricks are over on The Rubber Cafe blog about how to recreate this look.

And the stamps are wonderful. They stamp beautifully on smooth cardstock, but also on watercolor paper. I played around a little before deciding on the direction I wanted my card to go, plus I wanted to play with the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers that I got!

Card 1_Rubber_Cafe_Katrina_Hunt_1000Signed-3 copy

This card is definitely a departure from my usual style, but it's good to step out of the comfort zone at times!

I will be back tomorrow with a project for Maya Road that is on their blog today.  If you cannot wait, you can find the posting HERE.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Awesome-{a flair for buttons} and Some Fun News!

Happy Monday, well as happy as a Monday can get!  As I write this post Sunday night, I wonder if it will be a good Monday or a bad Monday?!  One never knows until it starts.  I am hoping for a good one.

Thought I would share my layout that I did for the {a flair for buttons} blog on Friday. I love this new collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio and the photo worked well with the colors.  Add in a few flair pieces, a cut file and instant layout done.

Supplies: Cardstock-WorldWin; Pattern Paper, Die Cuts; Vellum Stars, Enamel Stars, Sequins-Cocoa Vanilla Studio; Adhesives-ThermOWeb; Silhouette Cameo; Cut File-The Cut Shoppe

This was one of the pictures I took when we had our photo session with April.  This was at the end, we were done, the dogs were done and I am sure April was glad it was over also!  I thought that "I shoot people for a living" flair piece was too good NOT to put on there!

The orange color in the "Linen Dots" flair set went so well with the collection colors. And I had a happy accident. The cut file I used is the same one that I used for my card I posted on Friday HERE. The accident was that I was going to back my cut file and I wanted to make it easier, so I dug out a circle punch that I thought would work to back the openings. I started playing around layering and came up with layering them on top, not behind.

And for my fun news!  I was asked to guest design for "The Rubber Cafe" for the month of August!  So, I will have a few posts using their August Kit "Farm Fresh".  You can see a sneak of the kit HERE and also jump in on ordering one if you want!

It's a busy week for me. We are retiring Ella and Higgins from pet therapy as they are older and it's getting to be a little much for them.  Ella and I will visit the peds floor at the hospital for the last time Tuesday.  The other team we go with will also be retiring her border collie buddy, Zodiac.  Bittersweet, but they have both given so much to make others smile.  I am definitely taking some pictures. And a haircut for me with hopefully some "fun" color in it!  Wait and see!
