Totally Frog Dog-Gossamer Blue May Sketch Challenge

Epp!  I am the member over on Gossamer Blue's blog that got to participate in the sketch challenge for May.  I about fell thru the floor when Stephanie emailed me and asked.  Heather did a GREAT sketch and here is my take on it.

Supplies:  May 2014 Main Kit, May 2014 Life Pages Add-On #3, May 2014 Gossamer Blue Exclusive Paper, Digital Files for May 2014 Main Kit and Life Pages Kit.

I used a lot of the digital files that came with the kit also.  I need to make a point of printing them out and putting them with my kit, so that I use them.  They are too cute not too!KatrinaHunt-GossamerBlue-FrogDog-1000Signed-2

Love those flower shaped sequins from Lawn Fawn!

I did a title block for my title.  The striped letters didn't look right until I put them on this orange background.

So, want to see the sketch my layout is based on?  Head over to the Gossamer Blue blog and check it out HERE!

Imaginisce Sketch-Happy Birthday

This week on the Imaginisce blog is a sketch by Christine Meyer.  I wasn't going to do it, but then at the last minute decided to play along.

I used the new Little Princess collection that debuted on the blog a week or so ago.  I choose to do a card, because I was just in a card mood!

Coffee Fix with Gossamer Blue April Kits

Hope everyone had a great Memorial weekend.  We just hung around the house, and I worked on cleaning out some scrapbooking stuff.  I have new motto-6 months old or older it's going away!  Unless I truly, truly love it.  And the exclusive papers in the Gossamer Blue kits definitely stay!

Sharing one of my layout with the April 2014 Gossamer Blue kit.  I love the way this one turned out.  And I actually took these pictures on a whim, just because this is typical Carleen!

Graduation Season with Imaginisce

Can you believe it's May and graduation season is already here?  I can't!  And I know a certain someone that is graduating this year!  Time has definitely flown by

These cards were up over on the Imaginisce blog yesterday.  There are close ups over there, so if you would like to check them out, you can do that HERE.  Most of the time I think of graduation cards as black and white.  But, I figured out how to switch it up with the Perfect Vacation and Welcome Spring collections!

Supplies-Pattern Paper-Imaginisce (Perfect Vacation & Welcome Spring); Cardstock-American Crafts; Tags, Die Cuts-Imaginisce (Perfect Vacation & Welcome Spring); Punch-Fiskars; Letters-American Crafts; Wood Veneer-Studio Calico; Doilies-Wilton; Mist-Heidi Swapp Color Shine; Ribbon-Unknown; Adhesive-ThermOWeb

Silhouette Cameo with the following cut files:
Bloom & Grow
Design ID#58234

2014 Stack
Design ID#53653

A great guy's card with the Perfect Vacation collection!

And a sweet girl's card with the Welcome Spring collection.  The 2014 was stacked, but I added some cut lines and separated it, then welded it into a line instead.

Think about using your collections in different ways.  These both worked with the "fly" and "blossom" since that is what grads do…fly away and blossom into something wonderful!

Have a great day and I will catch you next time.  Thanks for stopping by today here on the blog!

Keep Calm and RAWR with Gossamer Blue March Kits

Because this picture was too cute NOT to steal off Facebook and scrap!  As soon as I saw this pop up in my feed, I was posting that I was going to steal it.

And the best part is the title came straight from the dinosaur's shirt!  LOL  Emma's smiles are hard to catch and this was so cute and happy.  Plus, the dino is pretty awesome!

Silhouette Cameo with cutting file and sketch pen.

I did the journaling on my Silhouette with a font, sketch pen and a cutting file for a banner.  I need to do this more often, because my handwriting has it's good AND bad moments!

I think I used all the banner stickers to make this across the page.  Hey, I might as well use them up!

I am up over on the Therm O Web blog today if you would like to take a look.  I am not sure, but there may be a giveaway involved!!  Here is a sneak of one of the projects!

That's it for Monday and I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Here is hoping I do aka did, (since I am writing and scheduling in advance)!

A Box Card with 3 Bird Designs and Silhouette Cameo

It's FRIDAY!  Yay for that!  And I have blogged almost everyday this week, which is a record considering the last couple of months!

So, as I was looking for a project for my 3 Birds posting today, I ran across these box type cards in the Silhouette Store.  I was intrigued and decided to try one one. Actually two, this one and the one that is over on the 3 Birds Studio Design blog.  You can see that card by clicking HERE.

The first card (over on the 3 Birds blog) took me about three hours to do.  Disclaimer:  I WAS at a crop and it WAS the first project I decided to work on.  Plus, I didn't really pay attention and put it together wrong when I started!

This card was much quicker to make, since I knew what I was doing.  It's a Lori Whitlock file and she has youtube tutorials on how to put them together, but I was distracted at the crop and was just not paying attention!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper, Chipboard, 3D Embellishment-3 Birds Design (Graceful Season); Stamps-3 Birds Design (Midday Medley); Adhesive-ThermOWeb; Twine-Doodlebug Design; Markers-American Crafts

This is a close up of one of the stamp/die cut combos that come in the Midday Medley Timeless Stamp kit.  Another disclaimer here, I am NOT really a person that colors in stamps, but these are pretty easy to work with.  I think I need to practice more!

Love the 3D Embellishments in the Graceful Season collection.  And there are more for the Midday Medley collection also!  The flower stamp is actually 4 different pieces. One piece for the flower, one piece for the center detail of the flower, 2 different leaf stamps and then 2 detail stamps, one for each leaf.

And just in case you were wondering how these are put together, here is a look inside the box part.  They fold flat for giving.  I have a picture over on the 3 Birds blog that shows how they fold down.

That is all today! If you are looking for 3 Birds Design products, head over to HSN right HERE.  And 3 Birds will be on HSN May 14th!  Be sure to check it out, they are showing new stuff! Have a wonderful weekend!

Love Her Sparkle-A CREATE Magazine Layout

Back again today?!  Whoop!  I thought I would share one of my layouts that was in the February 2014 issue of CREATE magazine.

I did this layout as part of the article I wrote on photo apps. If you would like to read the article, you can download the issue (and any others that you have missed!) HERE.  Feburary is Issue 2 with My Mind's Eye as the manufacturer focus for the month.

I love playing with photo apps and I knew as soon as I created this picture of Lauren that I was going to have to use it on a layout!  The Crate Paper "Flea Market" collection worked well with it!

Supplies:  Pattern Papers-Crate Paper (Flea Market); Flowers-Crate Paper (Flea Market); Bow-Crate Paper (Flea Market); Letters-American Crafts and October Afternoon; Sequins-Unknown; Adhesives-Therm O Web; Punch-EK Success; Silhouette Cameo with cutting file

Love that cute little bow!

And I just made a title block out of one of the tags and some letter stickers.  Lots of layering going on here.

So, if you haven't checked out the magazine I urge you to do so!  Lots of great inspiration by some amazing people and you can also have a chance at being published with the sketches that are featured each month!  You will want the current issue for that chance, which will be coming out sometime next week!

Have an awesome Thursday and it's only one more day till Friday!  I will be back tomorrow with a fun card using 3 Birds Designs and the new Midday Medley Timeless Stamping kit!

Shaved Ice with Gossamer Blue-January Catch Up

Ok, I "think" this is the last January layout that I have to share?  Dang, I have got to keep up better!  I took these pics of Carleen really quick right before we left the fair.  We had to get our shaved ice in though!

Gossamer Blue January Kit with Add Ons

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Gossamer Blue (Hexed *background and stripes brown black/Starry Eyed *yellow stars), October Afternoon (Daily Flash apple cider corn maze *blue plaid ), Pink Paislee (Hey Kid Double Dutch *red/white chevron and striped piece), Stars-Studio Calico; Tags-Simple Stories; Letter Stickers-Simple Stories; Flair-October Afternoon (Daily Flash Tin Pins); Glitter-American Crafts

Not in kit:  Cardstock-American Crafts; Pen-Sharpie; Adhesive-Therm O Web

Silhouette Cameo with the following cut file:
Design ID# 52883

I cut this banner out of with my Cameo.  I will admit, it was not easy to get off the mat!  My mat was fairly new and those little stars were tricky.  I covered a few of them in the glitter glue that came in the kit, just to make them stand out.  Plus, I though they went with the fair theme!

Just a shot of the layering.  These were mostly scraps that I had left from other projects and I just started stacking and moving them around to make them work.  I will say that I was (and still am) in love with that Gossamer Blue hexagon paper that was in the kit.  I wanted to hoard that paper!

And after the last few days, I could used some shaved ice.  It is NOT supposed to be 90 some degrees in May!  This stinks!

Cardigan Nationals and a 3 Birds Sneak

Last week was the Cardigan Welsh Corgi National Speciality.  This is a dog show that is for the Cardis only!  We only went up for the day and really didn't know if we were going to get to go, because of the ACL tear that Higgins did back in February.  He is just now getting around to walking and basically he is in rehab to build scar tissue.

So, on that note, we got him a wagon in case he got tired!  And he looks so darn cute it in.  He had the best seat in the house.  I thought I would share a few pictures from the trip.

Jetson was quite the character.  It's always up in the air with him, how he will behave.  He gets scared on walks around the block that he goes on every day.  But he has gotten braver and a little downright obnoxious since Sheldon came along.  He climbed up in this chair and promptly slid out the back of it!  But he just went around to the front and jumped right back up.  He perched on the chair for quite a while like this!

Ella and Sheldon hung out together, people watching and watching the dogs in the ring.  This was when Ella was not tired.  By the end of the day, she was having trouble holding that head up!

This is Laura, aka Memaw, who bred the litter Sheldon came from.  We don't get to see her much, but she is such a dear friend.  She was waiting to go in the ring to show a dog.

Then Jetson decided he wanted some cuddle time with Carleen, so up in her lap he went.  And he was quite happy and pleased with himself!  Pardon the green Jetson feet.  We gave them baths before the show, but it's rained a lot and the grass was freshly mowed at Purina!

So, on to the scrappy stuff!!  3 Birds Design is revealing a new goody today!!  Here is a picture of the cover.  Trust me, it's adorable!  And that pad is sized 12 x 12!!!!

AND 3 Birds is now on Instagram!!!  3birdsdesign  <<<<  Click there to follow them!

And I have a layout up over on the 3 Birds Studio blog today.  Here is a sneak of it and you can find my layout on this posting HERE.

Celebrate National Scrapbooking Day!  I am going to a crop this weekend, so I am planning on lots of scrappy happenings taking place.  That and a lot of fun!
