Yummy Sweet Treats with 3 Birds Design

Hey there Monday, please treat me well today!  I am back today with a 3 Birds Design Graceful Season layout.

We received the Quilled Cardmaking Kit after we got our original product to work with, so I wanted to play with it for my posting over on the 3 Birds Studio blog today.  I made a card with quilling on it and you can see it over there.  Ekk, I know, quilling right?  It's easy!  Go check it out!

While I had the cardmaking kit out, I came up with the idea for this layout.  The kit includes a precut template that shapes into a shadow box.  Whichhhhh, is perfect for a quilling projects, but I wanted to use it on my layout!

I just love this little 3D tag!  I paired it with the banner and the just added a small ribbon knot to set the combo off.

Here is the shadowbox and I used it to pop up my picture.  I admit this is a bulky layout, but I don't mind!  Then I just embellished around and on the box.

The foil paper cuts so pretty in the Cameo. And this is a small word!  I really want to do something bigger, I just need to figure out which project I want to use it on.

Love is a Four Legged Word….Imaginisce

Well, the whirlwind of the birthday/Valentine's Day has passed, so I am hoping to get back to a regular blogging schedule.  I think I just "check out" right after the holidays until after the birthday is over!

This layout was up over on the Imaginisce blog last week for Valentine layouts.  There are some adorable layouts over there that you should check out!  My posting is up HERE.

Once again, I used a photo from our photo shoot with April Turner from UTurn Studios.  You can tell here that Higgins is still a little miffed that he is "not" the center of attention!

Valentine's Arrow Set

I had seen (and bought) a canvas at a local home goods store that had this quote on it.  I knew I wanted to use it for a layout title.  Since the picture is of all four of them and shows them standing, I thought it was perfect!

I used some of the leftovers from my Silhouette as extra embellishments on my page.  Here I just layered and popped them up with foam squares.

Hope your Valentine's Day was a sweet one!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Wag More & Bark Less-Gossamer Blue January Layout

Wow, I have had all my January Gossamer Blue layouts done and posted in their gallery, but I just haven't shared them here yet.

It seems like I haven't done any layouts of Jetson in awhile, so I wanted to show him some love! Truthfully, the only picture on this layout that was even good enough to scrap is the one in the bottom left corner.  BUT, I took the series of shots and decided that they told a story, so I need to include them.

Gossamer Blue January 2014 Main Kit and Paper Add On

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Gossamer Blue (Hexed *background and stripes brown black/Starry Eyed *yellow stars), October Afternoon (Daily Flash apple cider corn maze *blue plaid and yellow/gray flower/Apple Cider Bonfire *grey chevron background), Pink Paislee (Hey Kid Double Dutch *red/white chevron), Cardstock-Brown; Tags-Simple Stories; Letter Stickers-Simple Stories; Flair-October Afternoon (Daily Flash Tin Pins)

Supplies not in kit: Washi Tape-Queen and Co.; Adhesive-Therm O Web; Pen-Sharpie

Yes, barking is his favorite thing, so I thought the days of the week around the page were necessary!

Getting ready to bark in this picture, so that flair button worked there! And if you noticed, I added a little "bit" to every square. I also added lots of layers under the pictures, just to add some interest.  I alternated papers for different, but similar looks on each square.

That's all from this girl.  I will be back tomorrow with a card or a layout?? I cannot remember what I pre-scheduled for my post!!  Have a great day!

A Quick Hello Card-Imaginisce

Just popping in to share a quick card that you could make for someone.  I love a quick card.  This isn't saying I don't like the ones that take some time!  This is a good card to make after finishing up a layout and you have some scraps hanging around on your table!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Imaginisce (My Baby & Welcome Spring); Die Cut Tag-Imaginisce (Welcome Spring); Bling-Imaginisce (Welcome Spring); Cardstock-American Crafts; Letters-American Crafts.

I like to have these type of cards around, in case I need to quickly send a card out.  I added some dimension by roughing the edges of my layers.  And the die cut tag make a quick place to place my "hello"on.

You can tell from this view that I popped up that third strip of paper that is in the middle.  I also popped up the die cut tag.

Think about making a card with your scraps from your layouts.  I didn't use to be much of a card maker at all, but once I got in the habit, I found it is pretty painless!

Do More of What Makes You Happy-3 Birds Design

Monday was NOT like we had planned at all.  We had planned to have a lounge day around the house, but then it started with AT&T checking the lines for the internet connection.  When the guy got here, Higgins injured his leg in all the commotion and we had to take him to the vet.  Chances are he has torn his other ACL on his back leg, but it's a wait and see thing for a week before we can be totally sure.  Here is hoping that we can do the crate rest remedy and not surgery.  BOO.

Today I am up over on the 3 Birds Design blog with an altered canvas using a quote.  You will need to head over there to check it out.  You can find the posting HERE.

But, I also did a layout using the same quote that the canvas had on it.  I challenged myself to use the some of the purple items in the Graceful Season's collection.  I don't scrap with purple much, but I loved how this turned out.  And isn't orchid the Panatone color of the year?!  LOL  Maybe we will see more!

Supplies: All supplies (pattern paper, chipboard, stickers, 6 x 6 mini pad)-3 Birds Design Graceful Season collection; Punch-Martha Stewart; Adhesives-Therm O Web

Silhouette with the following cut file:
Basic Grey Stems
Design ID 46747

I threw a little of the salmon colored paper in to offset and highlight the purple.  The branch stems were an after thought, but I love how they look with the butterflies.  Warning, the cut file is welded all the way, check the leaves at the bottom of the stem.  Luckily, I needed it shorter, so I just cut off the part that wasn't welded!

And here is the quote.  I love the pop of black on my pages lately, and i knew I had to do it on this one.   I did pop the quote up with some Therm O Web 3D foam squares just to add some dimension.

Thanks for stopping by my little ole blog today!  And make sure to head over to the 3 Birds blog to see my canvas!  Have a great Tuesday!

True Love with Therm O Web and Authentique

I had this card up on the Therm O Web blog last week for a swap with Authentique.  I forgot I hadn't posted it, but I would say this is the perfect week!

If you would like to see step out photos of how I created the card you can find them on my post on the Therm O Web blog, HERE.  There is also a giveaway until the 14th at that link!  Be sure to enter for some fun Therm O Web goodies!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper & Die Cuts-Authentique (Smitten); Cardstock-WorldWin Papers; Photo Corners-Therm O Web Glitter Dust Photo Corners; Twine-May Arts; Adhesives-Therm O Web (3D Squares, Sticky Dot Mini Runner, Zots Roll Bling)

I loved the silver photo corners with the red and pinks in the paper.  And to hold that bow exactly where I wanted it, I used a Zot from the Zots Roll Bling size and it worked perfectly!

Added some dimension with the foam squares for the die cuts and the top layer.

Tomorrow is my first 3 Birds Design post!  I cannot wait to show you how fun the goodies are to play with.  And I need to check the Olympics schedule!  I am a junkie, I admit it!

Cuddles with Gossamer Blue

Just a little late Sunday night update on the old blog.  I actually felt like writing a bit, so I thought I would take advantage of it.  Few things coming up this week.  The second issue of the CREATE magazine will be out sometime tomorrow, so be watching for that.  I will have my first 3 Birds Design project up this week and probably some other goodies as well.

I seem to create these 8.5 x 11 layouts randomly, but I always love them when I get them done.  It does present a challenge for me in the "space" department.  I like lots of space, so that I have lots of room to play!

Sheldon is just so darn snuggly.  I cannot help but take pictures of him when he is on my lap or laying on the couch with me.  Here, he was curled up in the back of my knees in a ball.  I love, Love, LOVE that he is a cuddle dog!

Gossamer Blue December Kit and Add-ons

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Carta Bella (Wildflower), Webster’s Pages (Recorded); Tags-Gossamer Blue and Chic Tags; Star Banner-Basic Grey (RSVP); Tape Strips-Basic Grey (RSVP); Doily-Wilton; Pen-Sharpie; Button-Webster’s Pages (Recorded); Fabric Circles-Pink Paislee (Color Wash); Adhesvies-Therm O Web

This layout came together around the star garland that drapes down the page.  I started with that and then just worked around it.  I loved this little arrow that was in the kit, so I had to put it somewhere!

Just a little spot for some journaling. I wish my handwriting was better, but it is what it is!  And I try so hard too!  LOL

I will be back sometime late Monday with a link for the new issue of CREATE.  What are you plans for the week?  I need to make a Valentine box and it needs to be a good one.  There is a competition at work!  Oh, and I need to make my Valentine's for work also.  I think the Cameo will help me with those!

Popping in for a 3 Birds Design Giveaway Link!

Hey everyone!  Honestly, I have been in a blogging slump.  I am going to work on that this weekend to get over it!  I go thru this every once in a while.  This time I think it's because I have been staring at a computer screen with spreadsheets at work all day!

You can find out more about the giveaway over on their Facebook page and you can get to that by going HERE!
