Too Cute To Spook-Happy Halloween!!!

So, I think this is the last of my stockpile of Bella Blvd. layout from the DT call.  But I wanted to post it for Halloween, so I hung onto it!  This is Carleen's cousin's little girl and she was just adorable!

Paper Bakery-Hello, What's Up?!

I am up over on the Paper Bakery blog today with this layout.  I snapped these pictures at the mall when the cousins were down one weekend and I had to get this cute face on a page!  I used the October Scrapbook Kit-Pumpkin Latte for this.

Katrina-Hunt-Paper-Bakery-October-Pumpkin-Latte-Hello-1000PB

Just a close up of the title and how I embellished that area.  I also used one of the printables that come with the kit.  I just printed it on photo paper.

I had a pretty big area to fill here, so I decided to do some typed journaling to fill the space some.  And you can see above, I still had some room, so I add the fun gold rub ons at the bottom of my journaling to take up some space and to even things out.

Alright, my job here today is done!  Check back tomorrow, because there is going to be a spook on the blog!

Pumpkin Carving with Silhouette!

Warning, no layouts and picture heavy post!

So, don't think I am nuts, but I have never carved a pumpkin before Saturday! I know WEIRD, right?   I don't know what I was thinking the experience would be, but I had fun.  We still have one pumpkin to carve yet, it was getting to be a little late to start another one at the rate I carved!

Carleen started the process for us, plus she wanted to roast the seeds to snack on later.

Carleen1

So, I had this brilliant idea to use a cut file from Silhouette for my pumpkin!  Cut it out of cardstock and then trace on my pumpkin.   Here is the cut file.  It's Design ID #50298 by Simple Stories.  Sn@p! on! is the name of the file.  And no, that is not a typo, it really is a @!

I knew I needed heavy cardstock to hold up to the beating it was going to take.  I pulled out my Textured Twill from WorldWin Papers and used it for the cut file.  Then I was trying to figure out how I was going to get it to stay on my pumpkin so I could carve it.  WASHI anyone?!  We all have a ton of it, so why not use it!

Snap1

It was a beautiful afternoon, but I was too busy trying to carve my design.  I probably "should" have not picked out something this detailed for my first pumpkin carving experience!  I am not sure how long it took, at the very least about 2-3 hours.  Thank goodness for Carleen's pottery tools or I would have thrown in the towel.  And I "might" have broken one, so I owe her big time!

Katrina1

Carleen finished hers in record time and she even carved the back of it!  Here they are drying out so we can get them cleaned up a little more!

Pumpkins1

Hee hee, that cardigan backside!

Then nighttime came and we finally got to see our results!  And these are with my iPhone, I didn't have a tripod to take them with my regular camera.  The iPhone seemed to work great!

Thanks for stopping by today aka this evening!!!  I will have a layout up late tomorrow for you.

November Memories-A Not Perfect Layout

I had thought about not posting this layout, because it's not one of my favorites.  It's not the pictures, just the overall design.  But I decided to go ahead and post it, because maybe I would figure out exactly what and why I don't like it!  I was limited on paper to use and that could be part of it also.  I like a full collection and (sadly for the house) two sheets of each pattern, so I have lots of play!  LOL  This is actually one of my submissions that I had done for Bella Blvd.

I do love the clusters that I did on the layout.   And this tag was fun to create with my Cameo.

So, now that I have shared a "not perfect page" I need to go make one that I like better!  I will be back on Monday!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Pumpkin Latte Treat Boxes for Paper Bakery

This is my week for tutorials it seems!  I was up over on the Paper Bakery blog on Monday with this one.  I thought I would go ahead and share it here too.   These were made with the October Pumpkin Latte Scrapbook kit.  I loved all the papers so much, it was hard to cut into them!

Katrina-Hunt-Paper-Bakery-Altered-Treat-BoxesFS1000PB

1. Select your papers and cut them.  For these I cut the following sizes: Eat Box (8.50 x 5.50 inches), Yum Box (7.00 inches by 4.50 inches), Good Stuff Box (7.50 x 5.00 inches)

Paper1

2. Apply adhesive to one short side and one long side, see picture below.

Glue1

3. Roll each piece of paper into a tube, rolling from short side to short side.

Tubes1

4. On the long end with the strip of glue, pinch together the end of the tube.  When you are done with this step, they should look like this.

Tubes2

5.  Then apply some adhesive dots to the inside of the open rim of the tube.  I used Zots, because you can place them on there and they still have a protective cover over the dot, so it makes it easy to still add treats.  Then close the tube diagonally from the opposite end.

Seam1

6.  The container should look like this when closed.

Seam2

7.  This step is optional.  You can run the ends thru a paper crimper for added detail.  OR you could tie a bow around one end.

Seam3

And then decorate you boxes with what you have laying around!  I had some left over chipboard pieces from the Pumpkin Latte scrapbook kit, which worked perfectly on my containers!

Fairy Wand with Therm O Web Glitter Dust

Here is a fun and quick Halloween idea with Therm O Web's Glitter Dust Spray!  I had this tutorial up over on the Therm O Web blog yesterday.

AND let me tell you, I don't do glitter.  And if I do, well I get it everywhere!  Therm O Web's Glitter Dust Spray is GREAT!  Glitter that doesn't spill AND stays put without flaking?!  Sign me up, I would use glitter more if every glitter was like this!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye Sweet Caroline; Ink-Prima Chalk Ink; Flair-Paper Bakery; Ribbon-various sources; Washi-Target; Vellum-WorldWin Papers; Doilies-Hobby Lobby; Wand-unknown; Adhesives-Therm O Web

Cover the base of your wand with Zots Singles Jumbo.  If a wand is not available, cut a shape out of cardboard and glue a stick on the back.  Cut the Zots as needed to fill the shape of wand.  Cover with pattern paper.  Sand and ink edges of shape if desired.
Zots1

Run ICraft Adhesive tape around edge of shape and then attach ribbon.  After ribbon is attached spray wand with Glitter Dust Spray Pink.

Tape1

Layer doilies and adhere them together with Zots Jumbo.  Spray with Glitter Dust Spray in Silver.  After they are dry to touch (about a minute or so) attach them to the back of the wand with Zots Jumbo.
Dust1

Use the 3D Foam Squares to add detail to the front of the wand.  Spray individual elements that are added with Glitter Dust Sprays in Gold and Iridescent.  Layer elements for desired look.
Squares1

Wrap wand handle in washi tape and add ribbons at base of wand as desired.  Wired ribbon works well to get curls in the lengths of ribbon.  I cut the butterfly out on my Silhouette and then sprayed it with the Glitter Dust in Gold.

Today Was Truly Awesome-An American Crafts project

I still have a few American Crafts projects to share from my guest design, so I thought I would share one of them today.

This was the first layout I did when I started working on my projects.  The unique thing about this is that most of the layers are from the Cut and Paste 6x6 mini pad!  I just cut the sheets of paper in half and layered them on each side of my photo.  Great way to use those pads up.

And I loved using the fun rub-ons to put on my picture!  They worked like a charm and I wanted to add more!

I just created a cluster with one of the wooden tags to make a title for my page.

WorldWin Papers and Inspired By Stamping Blog Hop!

Winner of my American Crafts Giveaway is:
Jill B!!!!
Congrats I will be contacting you for your mailing information!  Now......

Hi there!  Welcome to my stop on the hop!  If you did not get here from the beginning of the hop at WorldWin Papers' blog, please start there!  Here is the order of the hop and you will want to hop in order,  because you will be picking up a letter at each blog as you comment!

Worldwin
Katrina Hunt-You Are HERE!

Inspired by Stamping
Rose Miller
Shea Marshall
Tina Hale

You will have thru Sunday night to comment and grab your letters.  The winner will be announced on the Inspired By Stamping blog on Monday morning.

I made a treat bag and a card for the hop.  We were graciously given three sets of holiday themed stamps.  As soon as I saw the little banner stamp, I knew I wanted to make a tag for a treat box!  The box is made from WorldWin's Kromekote paper.  They all have a sheen and come in a variety of colors and textures.  This is a smoothed textured one and works great in my Cameo! The tag is the Totally Tan color in the Original ColorMates colors.

Katrina-Hunt-WorldWin-Christmas-Box1000Signed

Next up I made a quick Christmas card.  This would actually be a good design to send thru the mail, as it is not bulky at all.  I used WorldWin's Petallics in Beargrass as my base.  Then I used Medium Berry Red in the Original Colormates.  I embossed the red with a Lifestyle Crafts embossing folder.  I stamped my sentiment on ColorMates Textured Twill in the Natural Twill color using some Prima inks.  Added a doily, jute, sequins and called it done.  I love the how the elements play off of each other!

Rockin' Those Boots with Bella Blvd.

Welcome to Tuesday, peeps!  Here is another Bella Blvd. layout.  The inspiration for this came solely from the those fun rubber boots.  Heehee, yes there is a pun intended there!

This layout is from the "Kiss Me" collection.  Not listing supplies, because I am:
1. lazy
2. tired
3. don't remember the rest!
