A Little Paper Bakery Altered Project

A fun little tutorial over on The Paper Bakery blog today by me using the digital print files that came with the April kit, Lemonade Stand.

I am sharing one of my projects that is up over there.  A fun little gift card holder/tag for a quick gift.  I started with a manila tag and then just layered some things on top of it!

A Fun Little Owl for Whoooooo!!

I didn't share this the other day with my other Paper Bakery projects, so I thought I would before I forgot!  And I am up over on the WorldWin blog today if you would like to stop by!!

Just an adorable little owl treat bag that I cut from my Silhouette.  I think it's a girl owl!  Doesn't she look like it?

This is perfect to put some treats in for a teacher, daycare worker, co-worker, etc.  I will give you a tip-use wet glue to glue the sides.  My ATG tape did not hold them and I ended up going back over them with Fabri-tac to make sure they stuck.

This would be so cute in a variety of pattern papers!  I will warn you that the owl in it's original size takes up a good portion of the 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock.  Thanks for stopping by!

New Beginnings Gossamer Blue #2 for April

Back today with the first of my Gossamer Blue layouts.  For some reason, these pictures just called for an 8.5 x 11 page.  I am loving this size more and more.  So I am giving you fair warning!

I decided to do a page about my new place of work.  I absolutely love working here and am so glad that I am .  The seniors are wonderfully fun, crazy, and sweet all at the same time.  The agency I work for is GREAT and I love everyone there.  I immediately felt like family.

Shocker, no Silhouette files on this one!  I did add in some of my own goodies and as usual, I will list what was in the kit vs. what I added.

That die cut frame was just a little too orange for my layout, so I sanded down the edges to soften it up a bit and make it blend more.

I misted the canvas butterfly about three times, letting each misting dry in between coats.  I actually hit it with my heat gun, since I was in a hurry!

Do you have plans for National Scrapbooking Day?  I will be chatting online Saturday for Scrapbook Generation and giving away prizes!  They have a lot of fun challenges that you can do to win all kinds of fun goodies.  I will also be involved in a blog hop here on my blog.  Just a small one, so you should join in!

We Got to See Dr. B-Gossamer Blue Layout #1

Well, I couldn't wait to share this layout.  It's from my Gossamer Blue kit and is based on their sketch over on the blog.  I love Valerie's sketches and this one just screamed at me to do it!

We took Sheldon and Jetson for their yearly check up on Saturday.  I took my big camera, but there was just too much action in the room!  I dug out my iPhone and snapped a couple (maybe a lot!) of pics.  The look on Jetson's face when Dr. B is examining him just CRACKS me up!  I got a big kiss from him after I snapped that pic...Jetson, not Dr. B!  LOL

That cut file that I made and backed the words with washi tape.  I loved the camera, but didn't like the big card, so I just cut out around it.  The twine was a last minute addition, but that camera was begging for a strap!

I might add journaling up near the title tag, but I just couldn't decide for sure.  Better to leave it off and decide later!  Good thing about the blog, I usually post the story about the layout on here.

Until next time.....

A Little Paper Bakery Fun Today

I was up over on The Paper Bakery blog yesterday with a few projects from the April kit, Lemonade Stand.  I am sharing a couple of them today with you.

C and I took these pics at the mall.  I wasn't about to pay 20 bucks for those glasses.  But I actually took these pictures before I got that flair that only came in the kit, so I knew I wanted to use them with it!

A Few Sneaks and The PaperCut

Back on this Monday with just a few sneaks of what I have been working on this weekend.  Dug into my Gossamer Blue April kit and got three layouts done, but I didn't get pictures taken.  Darn migraine set in before I could get them.

And a new issue of The PaperCut by GCD Studios is out.  This is the first issue with the new design team and they all did wonderful.  No project in there for me this time, but probably the next one!

I have some cute pictures from the weekend I can't wait to scrap.  We took the younger boys to Dr. B's on Saturday for their yearly check ups.  Everyone did great and is at a good weight!  I took pics at the vet's office on my phone.  Then we made an unplanned pit stop at the park with the two of them.  They were excited and luckily I had thought to bring my big camera along!

Alright, since I am writing this on Sunday night, I am going to head to bed!  Have a great Monday (or as great as possible!!)

Happy Cards for My Creative Scrapbook!

Today I am sharing the two cards that I made for my April guest design at My Creative Scrapbook.  I did a tutorial over there.  I may share it here later, but if you would like to see it now, head on over to their blog.  You can find the tutorial HERE.

And then I made a fun quick birthday card.  The most time-consuming thing on this card was the fact that the paint had to dry!

A closer look at that Art Anthology dimensional paint.  Looks like frosting!

Thanks for coming by today.  It is spring here, but yet we are talking freezing temps!  This is why I have learned to cure my urge of planting flowers and pretty things until at least mid May.

Enjoy the Now

I had this layout also that posted over on the WorldWin blog on Friday.  I played around with some of my favorite things...GCD, Paper Bakery, Laina Lamb Stamps, and WorldWin!  It was fun to combine them all!

This layout uses the Colormates cardstock.  I can tell you that both the Petallics and the Colormates cut wonderfully in any die cutting machine.

I used the Medium Coffee Brown, which is a great kraft color, for my background.  Then I used White for my center strip and to stamp on.

Supplies: Cardstock- WorldWin Colormates in Medium Coffee Brown and White; Pattern Paper-GCD Studios Nostalgia paper collection; Flair-Paper Bakery Flair (You've Been Geotagged); Stamps-Laina Lamb Designs Stamps (Right This Way); Letters-GCD Chipboard Letters, American Crafts Thickers and October Afternoon; Doily-Wilton; Twine-May Arts jute; Adhesives-Scotch and 3L Scrapbook Adhesives; Ink-Prima Chalk Ink (Tin Roof); Punch-EK Success

Silhouette Cameo with the following cut file
Design ID #38761

The Colormates cardstock stamps great!  I used a chalk ink to stamp and it gave more of a distressed softer look, which fits with the layout.  And that little Paper Bakery flair geotag flair was a perfect addtion to the stamped saying!

Here you can see how cleanly the Colormates cut in my Cameo.  I just layered some pattern paper behind my openings to break it up some. I love the GCD Nostalgia collection a LOT.  So far it's my favorite!

Whew, I think that was a long post.  Or at least it took me a long time to type it up.  I get a little distracted, to say the least!  Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Celebrating Spring with the Nostalgia Collection

Ekk, it's my first GCD Studios project for the GCD Studios blog and I am super excited.  This layout uses the Nostaglia collection.  I love the softness of it.

Supplies:Pattern Paper-GCD Studios Nostalgia Collection; Glitter Epoxy Dots-GCD Studios Happiness Collection; Chipboard Alphas-GCD Studios Fun & Funky Collection; Punch-Martha Stewart; Ink-Prima Chalk Ink; Cardstock-American Crafts; Stapler-Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Scrapbook Adhesives and Fabri Tac; Pen-Sharpie

These Glitter Epoxy Dots are from the Happiness collection.

I popped a few of the pictures up for dimension and a different look than just a flat collage.

Just my title work!

Hope you have a wonderful day!  Get out there, take some pictures, and make something pretty!

Hello Spring with Worldwin Papers

This posted over on the WorldWin blog on Friday.  This was my first WorldWin posting as a design team member.

I whipped up a shaped card made with the Petallics collection.  The first time I used the Petallics cardstock I fell in love with it.  The sheen and just the elegance of it made me swoon!

Supplies: Cardstock-Worldwin Petallics in Autumn Hay, Beargrass, Gold Ore, Petal Pink, Spring Larch; Flair-Paper Bakery Flair (Oh Happy Day); Letter Stickers-Doodlebug Designs; Washi Tape-Bella Blvd; Adhesives-Scotch and 3L Scrapbook Adhesives; Embossing Folders-Provo Craft and Lifestyle Crafts Embossing Folders, Cuttlebug

Silhouette Cameo with the following cut file
Design ID #20377

I embossed  the flower layers and left the leaves just as they were.  I wanted my flower to stand out more than the leaves.  That Paper Bakery flair in the middle of the flower made it pop, plus it went with the washi tape!

I used the Autumn Hay color for my card base.
The top layer is the Beargrass color that I embossed.

That's all from me today!  Hello spring, or at least I am hoping so.  Have a great day and get crafty.

You are Awesome-The Paper Bakery April Kit Lemonade Stand

So happy to share my first layout for The Paper Bakery.  It is with the April Kit, Lemonade Stand.  I love all the papers in the kit so much, I had a hard time cutting into them!

The Paper Bakery has started a sketch challenge that will happen twice a month.  This is based on the first sketch for April.  Our sketch guru is Juliana Michaels.  I love her work in the first place, so to have her be on a team with me creating sketches is just like icing on the cake!

BTW, the blue/white chevron was made by using a file on my Cameo and one of my sketch pens.  Then I just cut out around it.

That super cute boy flair, I had to put on there!

My non perfect stamping, that I am growing to love.  Or at least live with!

Ok, that's it from me!  Be sure to check out the sketch challenge.  You have until the 20th!!  Have a wonderful day.

Call My Number-My Creative Scrapbook

Back with another My Creative Scrapbook project.  Another layout.  At work, well those people like to play games.  One Friday, I decided I would just play along with them.  They had been asking me since I started, so I thought it was about time!

I took this picture at work on Friday when they talked me into playing bingo with them.  I ended up winning a box of tissues!  The funny thing is, I took this right before I got my kit and saw the papers.  It worked out perfectly!

Supplies in kit:  Pattern paper-Bo Bunny (Surprise); Chipboard-Bo Bunny (Surprise); Stickers-Bo Bunny (Surprise); Red Crepe Paper

Supplies not in kit:  Cardstock-American Crafts; Pen-Sharpie; Adhesive-Scotch, Fabri Tac, Scrapbook Adhesives

I didn't like how tall the balloons were, so I snipped them and then matched them up.

To make those letters stand out more, I outlined them.

Short post today.  I have been busy with things I can't share and scheduling post.  I will be back on track later in the week!  Have a great day!

Here's Looking at Seventeen-My Creative Scrapbook

Here is part of my project reveals for my guest design at My Creative Scrapbook.  I will share a project here and there over the next week or so!

Supplies in kit:  Pattern paper-Bo Bunny (Surprise); Chipboard-Bo Bunny (Surprise); Stickers-Bo Bunny (Surprise); Yellow Ribbon (unknown); Yellow Gingham Fabric Tape

Supplies not in kit:  Cardstock-American Crafts; Pen-Sharpie; Punch-Martha Stewart; Twine-May Arts; Adhesive-Scotch, Fabri Tac, Scrapbook Adhesives

Silhouette Cameo with the following cut file:
Design ID# 31520

Font
Cooper Black

You know that curling ribbon that you use to wrap packages?  Well, I had this yellow in the kit and it was fun to create some dimension on that cake layer with it!

I wanted the "party" splash to stand out more, so I cut card stock just a little bigger and then outlined with a black sharpie.  I outlined the banners also, just to tie everything together.

And I cannot remember the font I used for this.  I am pretty sure it was a very basic font that is on all computers.  I know I didn't "look" around for one, like I sometimes do!

Here is the kit that I was given to work with.  It's the Creative Kit and it's jam packed with all kinds of Bo Bunny and fun embellishments/trims.  You can pick up the kit over at My Creative Scrapbook, here!
