Dog Fest 2012-Gossamer Blue #4

Uh, hello April?  March where are you going so fast?  I am NOT ready for this month to be coming to an end.  I have too much to still do, that I usually have done by now!

This page is just a complete conglomeration (wow, I spelled that right the first try!) of my Gossamer Blue kits.  My nickname for it is a "hot mess"!  I totally LOVE it, but there are things I could change, but I am not going to.  It was great at the time I did it, I still love it and it's going to stay exactly the way I completed it!

I could have toned it down, by not using the orange background, but it made everything POP, so I went with it.  And I am not comfortable using those big journaling cards, so I think that is half of what I am calling "hot mess".
Gossamer Blue March Main Kit, Add-on Paper Kit, Bits & Pieces kit and Color Kit

Supplies in kit: Pattern Paper: Glitz (Color Me Happy/ Stripe, Bits and Pieces), Glitz-Color Me Happy 6x6 mini pad (adventure tag, woodgrain), Elle's Studio (Day To Day-Good Morning teal/white striped, Treasured Moments khaki under die cut, and Today teal/darker teal stripe), Echo Park (Photo Freedom Vol. 1 Everyday Moments (light blue polka dot and chervron arrow)), Fancy Pants (Hopscotch-Butternut/orange-white polka dot--Good Times The Good Life-teal/black and white striped), My Mind's Eye (My Girl-Kite Strings/orange) (Collectable-Memorable-Note (pink striped); Letter stickers-Basic Grey (Eerie), Glitz (Color Me Happy/of); Tags-Elle's Studio (Day to Day bits (round tags) Days/Tiny Tags (happy moments) Large & Medium journaling tags (yellow bracket); Wood Veneer-Freckled Fawn; Rhinestone Gem-Glitz (Color Me Happy); Stickers-Echo Park-Photo Freedom Vol. 1 (rectangle, blue/white banner, circles); Washi-Glitz (Color Me Happy); Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye (Boy Crazy); Black Doily-InkKit; Ribbon-May Arts

Supplies not in kit:  Pen-Sharpie; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives

Silhouette Cameo with the following cut file:

Design ID# 40192

The sharpie was giving out a little!  I had put it thru tracing the die cut and went straight to the journaling.  And I love that border strip.  I welded 3 or 4 together, I can't remember for sure.  This will get your the 12 inch length or close to it.

That cute little (big) rhinestone from Glitz and that "epic" wood veneer from Freckled Fawn up close.

Chances are I won't update before Monday, but I might.  Just been a little out of my routine this week.  I actually love blogging every day, but I do need to remind myself that it's ok if I don't!

Perfectly Imperfect-Gossamer Blue #3!

That's me!  Perfectly imperfect.  I just need to accept it, so I decided to journal about it.  As I have mentioned, I am trying to journal more.  I was asked to participate in a class over at Big Picture Classes, which I did not know at the time was a journaling class.  I have to say I am so HAPPY that I did not know.  Had I seen it was a journaling class, I probably would have hesitated.  But, since I had committed to it already, I took the challenge.

The class is by Stephanie Howell and it's called The Ties That Bind.  It actually made me realize it's ok to scrapbook about my self and tell "little stories".  I used my Gossamer Blue kit to make my layout.

I decided to add a little heart to dot my "i"!

Whew, that's all from me today.  BTW, writing this on Sunday and I have spent basically the entire day at the computer.  Can I take a day off?!  Have a great Monday!

The 2 of Us..Gossamer Blue

Let it snow, let it snow!  They are predicting about 3-7 inches for here.  I know that doesn't seem like a lot of snow, but since we haven't had any in a while, I am all for it.  Caught up at work as far as getting emergency meals out, so I am good to go for snow.

Sharing my second Gossamer Blue layout today.  I have had this one done for awhile, but just didn't get the pics taken of it.  And if it looks odd sized, well, it is.  I trimmed a little "too much" off of one side.  So, this one is an 11 x 12 page!  Hey, it works is my thought.

Gossamer Blue March Main Kit, Add-on Paper Kit, Bits & Pieces kit and Color Kit

Supplies in kit: Pattern Paper: Glitz (Color Me Happy/Chalkboard, Hearts, Stripe, Bits and Pieces), Glitz-Color Me Happy 6x6 mini pad (hello, cameras), Elle's Studio (Day To Day-Good Morning teal/white striped and Today teal/darker teal stripe), Echo Park (Photo Freedom Vol. 1 (light blue polka dot) Scoot (striped),  Glitz-Color Me Happy 6x6 pad (hello); Letter stickers-Basic Grey (Eerie), Glitz (Color Me Happy/of), Echo Park (Photo Freedom Vol. 1 (us); Tags-Elle's Studio (Day to Day bits (round tags) Days ), Glitz-Color Me Happy 6x6 mini pad (hi there); Wood Veneer-Freckled Fawn  Rhinestone Gem-Glitz (Color Me Happy); Stickers-Echo Park-Photo Freedom Vol. 1 (rectangle, border strip, arrow); Washi-Glitz (Color Me Happy)

Supplies not in kit:  Cardstock-American Crafts; Pen-Sharpie; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives; Punch-Martha Stewart

Close up of the wood veneer.  The little hook broke, so I backed the piece with some paper to make it a little more stable.

I cut the journaling strips at angles, but you can't really tell here.  And I loved a stacked title.

Ok, let's hope for a snow day at least on Friday!  Have a great Thursday!

Family Reunion...Cardigan Style/Gossamer Blue Sketch Challenge

Crazy, crazy, crazy around here!  I think I am slowly getting caught up...now if the housework would just magically get done by the elf that seems to disappear when it's time for it to work....

I managed to get the sketch done over at Gossamer Blue with my March kit.  I love Valerie's sketches and I have been in a little of a rut, so it was nice to just do the sketch and not try to place things.

This was during last November when Laura, Sheldon's breeder, was down for the dog show.  The pups are all from the same litter and Team Sassy and Laura (in the middle) finished their AKC Championship while they were here that weekend.  The pups were 10 months old when this was taken.  Mala and Johnny came up from Arkansas and brought Maddox with them.  We had quite the fun time that day after the dog show!

Gossamer Blue March Main Kit, Add-on Paper Kit, Bits & Pieces kit and Color Kit

Supplies in kit: Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye {Unforgettable-Happiness/Cheerful (flowers), Remarkable-Smile/Beam (yellow flowers)}, Elle's Studio (Day To Day-Today (chevrons), Echo Park (Photo Freedom Vol. 1 (light blue polka dot), Fancy Pants {The Good Life (Good Times (b & w striped), Hopscotch (Butternut-orange polka dot)}, Glitz-Color Me Happy 6x6 pad (elephants); Cardstock-Bazzill (teal); Letter stickers-Basic Grey (Eerie); Tags-Elle's Studio (noted journaling tag), Glitz-Color Me Happy 6x6 mini pad (I really, really and love this); Chipboard-My Mind's Eye-Collectable/Remarkable ( the best day and 3),  Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye (Boy Crazy); Stickers-Echo Park-Photo Freedom Vol. 1 (documented & good times); Black Glitter Circle-Unknown

This little black disc reminds me of glittery sandpaper!

Love this font I found on Pinterest...Riddle!

Ok, time to clean up the mess and head to bed for me!  I had some fun scrappy news happen today that I hope I get to share soon.

The Park & The Big Adventure

Anyone go to St. Patty's Day parades?  We did at the last minute on Saturday.  It was a little chilly, but not too bad.  I took a ton of pictures that I still need to edit.  Honestly, I don't edit until I am ready to print and scrap them.

I feel so behind this month.  I can't believe that it is already half over.  I just now got two of my Gossamer Blue layouts done (out of the four for the album challenge) and I missed a few of their challenges that I would have done. AND I haven't even done my Project 12 spread yet!

Sharing a layout I did at the weekend crop I went to. AND speaking of that, did you hear Scrapbook Generation's big news?!  They are expanding again to move into a full blown online retail site also!!  How fun and I wish them the best of luck.  Heck, we know I will be around there (probably helping!)  You can read all about it HERE.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-American Crafts (Ready Set Go Collection); Tag, Sticker and Ampersand-American Crafts (Ready Set Go); Letters-American Crafts (brown) & Green (Pebbles); Punch-Stampin' Up; Ink-Prima; Adhesives-Scotch & Scrapbook Adhesives; Font-Century Gothic; Sketch-Sketch Support

Journaling that I did after I got home from the crop.  When the I do a lot of  journaling, I would rather type it than handwrite it.  Less room for error!

Just a little close up of that cute fabric tag.

So, I guess I am getting a little more creative in my picture taking, because I am now laying on the ground without even thinking about it or looking at where I am laying.  Which might NOT be the best thing to do, especially at a park!

Have a great Tuesday!

Can I Share...or The Crate Saga

Anyone enjoying the nice weather?  It's supposed to be nice here on Saturday, so no telling what we might get into.  Maybe the zoo, I think they have a new baby giraffe there!

I snapped these pictures one night when Sheldon was being his normal stinker self.  He truly thinks that Higgins should share his crate.  Even when Higgins isn't in there, Sheldon will drag toys in to chew on them and then leave them like it's his little treasure chest.  Silly dog!

The pictures were not as clean and sharp as I like them, so I changed them to black and white to "hide" the things I didn't like about them. Make sure and remember that little tip.  These new Elle's Studio papers from the Day to Day collection were perfect with the photos!

Supplies: Pattern Paper-Elle's Studio (Day to Day); Tags-Elle's Studio; Home Sweet Home-American Crafts (Ready Set Go); Stamp-Laina Lamb Design; Washi-Bella Blvd.; Flair-{a flair for buttons} etsy shoppe; Wooden Hearts-Studio Calico; Letters-American Crafts, Jillibean Soup, Glitz Design; Punch-EK Success; Twine-May Arts; Pen-Sharpie; Ink-Memento; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac, and Scrapbook Adhesives

Laina's fun stamp, a little fun title work and some added journaling after I got home from the crop and I had a layout done.

I hadn't used any flair for awhile and I loved that this grey piece was perfect with the stars!

One more sleep and it's the weekend!  I will be back on Monday, hopefully.  Have a wonderful weekend and get a little creative!

If you follow me with Google Reader....

Hey short post tonight/today, it's been busy and I haven't gotten any pictures edited yet!

You may or may not have heard that Google Reader is being done away with.  You can see more details at this link HERE or HERE.  So, if you are currently following this blog thru Google Reader, it will not be an option after awhile.

I do have a Network Blogs follow button if you would like to follow that way.  For now, I will be looking around to see what is out there and what I will be doing to follow blogs!

And that is all I have tonight!  Well, let's just throw in a cute picture of Ella!!

416 S. Campbell...The Layout

Are you ready for a totally different layout from me?  The fabby stencil from Crafter's Workshop/Ronda Palazzari  is where this layout started from.  I knew I wanted to trace around some of those hearts and then I just went from there.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper/Chipboard-American Crafts (Dear Lizzy Neapolitan); Cardstock-American Crafts; Washi Tape-Bella Blvd; Letters-American Crafts & October Afternoon; Ink-Heidi Swapp Color Shine (Primrose); Stencil-Crafter's Workshop/Ronda Palazzari; Punch-Fiskars/Jenni Bowlin; Adhesives-Scotch ATG and Fabri Tac

I thought the heart went perfect with the stencil!

Just a different side view, or should I say the "washi" side view?!

Short post today.  Not much to say, which is really rare!  Have a wonderful Wednesday.

I Was Here First Sheldon

I still have a few layouts to share from the crop I went to.  I think there are about 3 or 4?  I am in a weird kind of mojo place right now.  Usually I tire of a paper line after a layout and possibly a card.  It doesn't matter if I have not used everything at least once, I just get bored.

But here lately, I have been using my stash up!  It could be I am waiting on new releases, hee hee.  But it's a good thing that I am waiting, since it is causing me to use my stash!

I took this picture with my iPhone one night.  These two were being so goofy on the couch, I couldn't resist.  Jetson made his way up onto Carleen's lap and he wasn't budging for anyone.  I edited the picture with an app called PicsPlayPro.  LOVE it for editing and it has become my go to app for editing pictures.

Tip:  Some companies have decorative border strips that you cut off and can save to use.  Well, I liked this one right where it was, so I just cut off the other end to make my paper 12x12.  Easy peasy!
Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Pebbles (Seen & Noted); Cardstock-American Crafts; Tags-Elle's Studio; Ticket-Maya Road; Flair-{a flair for buttons} Etsy shoppe; Punch-EK Success; Letters-American Crafts, October Afternoon & Doodlebug Designs; Adhesive-Scotch ATG & Scrapbook Adhesives; Doily-Wilton; Pen-Sharpie

Just a closeup of the journaling.  I didn't want to ink edges, but the white strips were a little too stark, so I took the doodle around the edges route.  I am loving this look more and more!

Close up of the flair and the tag tucked underneath it.  I always try to cluster at the very least three different (or similar) embellishments to make an interesting, yet appealing look to the cluster.  I haven't perfected it yet, but I am working on  it.  I have found odd numbers seem to usually work better visually.

That's all from me today.  If you have any questions, please let me know.  If you are interested in my apps that I am using on my phone, let me know also and I may just do a blog post on them in the next couple of weeks!

A Fun Day at the Park...

With the whole "impromptu" blog makeover I didn't get my project pictures edited.  But, we did take time out for a park trip.  It was so nice Saturday, except for the wind!  I am just going to share a few pictures from the day.

I will be back tomorrow, with a project or two.  Man, I hate this time change.  LOL

It's Makeover Time!

Bear with me, I am doing a makeover on the blog.  I would love any feedback you would like to give me.  Since I am going a totally different direction than what I had, I am still trying to tweak and get things the way I want them.

Please post any suggestions in the comments and I will see if I can do them.

I am a GCD Studios Girl!!!!!

Last Friday, I was on pins and needles.  I was waiting on a call, a BIG call.  The "calls" were starting around 11:30 AM my time.  Around 11:20 my cell phone rang.  My cell phone hardly EVER rings!  I start getting excited.  Then, I see that it was my hair stylist needing a phone number from me!  Talk about heart attack!

THEN, my phone rang again.  AND it was the call I was waiting for.  Heidi Sonboul, the DT coordinator for GCD Studios was calling to tell me I had made the 2013-2014 team!  Check out everyone on the team and the new GCD issue of The PaperCut magazine!  And head over to the blog "In The Studio" also!!

Click on the image of the magazine to see all the fun stuff.

I cannot wait to start creating for GCD.  The new lines are super adorable and I love the color combos.  You know me, I am a color girl!!!

That's my exciting news for this week!  I will be back on Monday with another project to share.

Too Cute for Words/Laina Lamb Designs and a fun Announcement for April!

So, it's Thursday and sadly this weekend is Daylight Savings Time and we are all going to lose an hour of sleep.  This is NOT a good thing in my book.  Wait, there are those people in Arizona that don't....maybe I should move?  Nah, too hot!

SO excited about this.....

 photo Guest-Blinkie.gif
I will be guesting in April.  I love what Delaina, Izzy and Alicia do with their kits and I can't wait to play with them.

This is one more of the layouts I got done over the weekend.  I have NO idea where this design came from and I am on an angle kick.  The background got some gold Color Shine (Heidi Swapp) with a few drops of the teal Color Shine also.  I misted the doily with the gold, but it's a little hard to see. I decided not to journal on this one.  I am trying to be better about journaling and I am actually getting to where my layout does not feel complete without it.  If you are reading this...thanks Emily!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye (Collectable/Remarkable); Cardstock-American Crafts; Punch-EK Success; Chipboard/Stickers/Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye (Collectable/Remarkable and Noteable); Letter Stickers-October Afternoon; Chipboard Letters-American Crafts Thickers; Twine-May Arts; Hanger-Tim Holtz; Stamps-Laina Lamb Designs; Doily-Wilton; Mist-Heidi Swapp Color Shine (Gold/Teal); Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Scrapbook Adhesives and FabriTac; Ink-Prima Chalk Ink (Tin Roof)

Close up of the angles and the stamp.  I used grey ink since it was softer than a black.  Brown probably would have worked, but I wanted to play off the blues and greys.

I popped up the sticker, so that I could use the twine underneath.

Close up of the other stamp.  I am in love with this stamp set and kept trying to find ways to use them on here!  I added the stickers and the hanger to create a cluster.

I am out of here for today!  Be sure to come back tomorrow, there might be something fun on here!!!

We Point, Click, & Crop-An Hour Layout

So, at the crop this weekend there were three of us that had a contest.  We all had the same picture to scrap.  Then someone decided that we needed some rules which were the following:  1. At least three pattern papers showing 2. Had to have a heart on it 3. Title and subtitle (or long title) 4. Journaling.  And the other big rule was that we had an hour to scrap.  EKK, I am a slow scrapper!

So, I didn't win, but I love the page I came up with.  And I cannot believe that I did it in an hour!  Actually less than an hour, probably about 50 minutes.

I am not going to have a detailed supply list, because honestly, I cannot remember what I used.  I know there is My Mind's Eye (My Girl and the enamel dots), Echo Park (Photo Freedom), American Crafts (Soho Garden); Maya Road (tickets); Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Tinsel; Laina Lamb Stamp and Martha Stewart Doilies.

I fussy cut, sewed, misted and more!

These doilies are so cute!

Title, title and more title!

I did seven total layouts at the crop.  I need to journal on about 3 of them.  So, stay tuned for all of those coming up in the next week or so!  Have a wonderful Wednesday!

That Boy Whoo-Basically Bare and Nikki Sivils

I made this project a long time ago at the start of my term with Basically Bare.  It was to be used for a newsletter project, but since it wasn't, I am sharing it today!  It was up on the Basically Bare blog last week.

Supplies: Pattern Paper-Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker (Noah); Chipboard/Felt/Cardboard-Basically Bare; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Fabri-Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives

Love that the heart is big enough for part of the title.

If you have followed me, you know I love to dress up owls!

Some ink and puffy paint on the felt clouds to make them stand out.

I am so happy that I finally got to share this!  I had almost forgotten about it, until I was doing some cleaning out of files.  Thanks for stopping by today.
