Lily Bee Design 16 Paws & 4 Feet Guest Design

The month of August and blogging projects has flown by.  This is my last guest design project and posting for Lily Bee Design this month.  Please stop over on the Lily Bee blog and say hi and goodbye since it's my last post. I would love it!

This photo is one that is from our photo shoot with April Turner of UTurn Studios.  I knew going into the photo shoot that I wanted a picture like this.  I didn't know where we would take it, but I knew I wanted it!

The theme at Lily Bee this week is "Living Large", so I went with a large picture.  Well, as large as I could print at home, heehee!

Sweet Shoppe (Lemon Drop 12 x 12 Paper-SSP284, Strawberries & Cream 12 x 12 Paper-SSP293, Sweet Shoppe Circles & Tags-SSS341)

Pinwheel (Sprinklers 12 x 12 Papers-PWP307, Ice Cream Truck 12 x 12 Paper-PWP310, Kite Strings 12 x 12 Paper-PWP306, Pinwheel Label Stickers-PWS316, Pinwheel Chit Chat Stickers-PWS318, Pinwheel Circle & Tag Stickers-PWS341, Pinwheel Letter Stickers-PWS317)

Destination (Destination Circle & Tag Stickers - DSS341)

Other supplies (Photo credit UTurn Studios/April Turner)

I dug out the typewriter that I bought over a year ago and typed my journaling.  Uh, typing on a typewriter without mistakes is HARD!  So, I decided to embrace some of the mistakes and just type the correct letter over and over to make it darker!

And this title popped in my head the first time I saw this picture!  So, I knew I wanted to use it and that space in the corner of the picture was a perfect place for it!

I hope you have enjoyed my guesting at LilyBee.  I have had so much fun with these projects and am still in shock that I was asked to guest design.  Thank you LilyBee, I had a blast!!

More Cards from my Lily Bee Guest Design

Here are a couple more cards that I created with the goodies that LilyBee sent me to guest design with.  I was sent Sweet Shoppe, Pinwheel, and Destination collections to work with.  I cannot pick a favorite out of them!

Supplies: Sweet Shoppe (Pink Mint 12 x 12 Paper-SSP290, Lemon Drop 12 x 12 Paper-SSP284, Sweet Shoppe Circles & Tags-SSS341), Destination (Atlas 12 x 12 Paper-DSP323), Pinwheel (Pinwheel Label Stickers-PWS316)

I added foam adhesives to all my layers except the brown one.  This is still very mailable and compact!

This one "could" be mailed, if you were to flatten down the balloon, but I think it is a perfect "in person" card to give!

Just a quickie post for today!  I will be back later in the week, have a great Tuesday.

Oh Happy Day with Gossamer Blue-Layout #4

It's Sunday and I am pre-writing this post for Monday.  I need a do over for the weekend!   Sharing the last of my four pages out of my Gossamer Blue kit for July.  This is so "not" a me page, but I think I want to do more like this!  There is a LOT of white space, but I kind of dig it!

That woodgrain paper didn't want to be covered up.  These pictures were taken when we were moving the living room all around for the new (more streamlined) computer desk that we got at Target.  Ella was blocked in on the loveseat by some things we had moved and I had to grab the camera and take some pics of that happy little face!

Gossamer Blue Main Kit and some Add-Ons

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Elle's Studio (Saltwater-Pinwheel *woodgrain/Confetti Text *striped border strip/butterfly/green text strip), Gossamer Blue (Diamond Lines *yellow butterflies), Fancy Pants (Wonderful Day *chevron and yellow hearts),  My Mind's Eye (Kate and Co- Cambridge Court May flowers *flowers);  Vellum-Elle's Studio (this day)Empherma (Clouds/Title)-Fancy Pants Wonderful Day Pack; Chalkboard Stickers-American Crafts Remarks;  Chalkboard Tape-Fancy Pants; Cork Shapes (hearts)-Fancy Pants; Geotags-Skipping 5 Puffy Things; Pen-Uniball Signo

Supplies not in kit:  Cardstock-WorldWin Papers; Punch-EK Success, Martha Stewart; Stapler-Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher; Star Paper Clip-Two Peas; Heart Background-Cricut Cartridge Paper Lace (cut at 5.75); Adhesive-Therm O Web

I thought those hearts were super cute underneath her picture and I loved using the chalkboard tape for my journaling strips.

I added that star paperclip at the last minute, but it fit over the heart on the clouds perfectly.  I loved that the geotags look like little heart raindrops.

So, what's on your agenda this week?  It is looking like a few scrappy projects to get done, possibly picking out some colors of paint for the living room and definitely working for that three day weekend that is coming up!

Hope you liked my page and thanks for stopping by!  I will be back tomorrow with some cards that I had up over on the LilyBee Design blog a couple of weeks ago that I forgot to post!

Talk To the Paws-Guesting at Lily Bee Today!

It's Thursday, which means for the month of August I have another project on the Lily Bee Design blog!  This time I did a layout and used some rolled paper as a fun technique on my layout.  This is a total mix of collections, so the supply listing is a little crazy!

I have had so much fun guesting for Lily Bee this month and I am sad that next week will be my last post, but I think it's the best one!

Supplies:  Destination (Luggage 12 x 12 Paper-DSP322, Destination Letter Stickers-DSS336), Sweet Shoppe (Pink Mint 12 x 12 Paper-SSP290, Lemon Drop 12 x 12 Paper-SSP284, Gumball 12 x 12-SSP283, Sweet Shoppe Letter Stickers-SSS298), Pinwheel (Lemonade Stand 12 x 12 Paper-PWP302, Picnic Basket 12 x 12-PWP305, Ice Cream Truck 12 x 12-PWP310, Cart Wheels 12 x 12 Paper-PWP312, Pinwheel Letter Stickers-PWS317, Pinwheel Label Stickers-PWS316, Pinwheel Circle & Tag Stickers-PWS341); Adhesive-Therm O Web; Punch-EK Success

I rolled a few strips of the pattern papers to make a focal point under the largest photo.

And then there is my love of a big title!

Thanks for stopping by today!  And head over to Lily Bee and say hi!

Sketch Week Layout Reveal with a little My Mind's Eye Cut and Paste

It is Sketch Week over on Allison Davis' blog and I had time to play for the reveal this month!  I really wanted to change this up, but I just did some little changes here and there.  I will admit, I went a little wild with all the layers and patterns, but I love how it turned out!

Here is the sketch we were given.  AND if you want the full sketch with measurements, go to HERE and get the FREE download!  Be sure to check out Allison's blog all week for different takes on this sketch.  I know there are a few of us playing along!

I told you I was in love with the Cut and Paste collections from My Mind's Eye right?  Well, here is the Adorbs collection.  I couldn't wait to use it.  The colors rock my socks!  And I still have lots of this one left!  Was that enough of a warning?

Supplies: Pattern Paper, Embellishments, Washi Tape-My Mind's Eye (Cut and Paste Adorbs); Ink-Prima Chalk Ink (Tin Roof); Pen-Sharpie; Punch-EK Success; Adhesives-Therm O Web Adhesives; Sketch-Scrapbook Generation Free Sketch Download for Week of August 19th 2013)

I did make some changes, though they are very minor and just moving things around.  The title I moved up along with the journaling.  I had a blank space that was throwing the entire design off.  I luckily had picked up the journaling cards that My Mind's Eye had for this line.  I usually don't!  And one of the cards fit RIGHT where I wanted it to.  I did tuck a line or two under my picture, but I was pleased when that last piece of the puzzle came together!

Honestly, I do not stare at a sketch while I am working on it.  I will look it over before I start and usually decide which direction I want to do it and then how many pictures am I using.  After that, I will not really look at it again.  I laughed when I started this post, because the sketch uses hearts and I truly did not do hearts on purpose at all!

Scrap a Different Size-Paper Bakery Fun

So, I am not going to get into a lot on this post, warning PIC heavy!!  Three layouts, three different sizes!  Try it, it will get you out of a rut and you might just find a new favorite size to scrap.  These were up over on the Paper Bakery blog last week.

Kicking it off with a 12 x 12
Supplies from the Paper Bakery August "HELLO YOU!" Scrapbook kit

I used one of the cuts outs and just flipped it over to add something to my cut out area.

I loved tucking things in here and there.

Now, here is an 8.5 x 11 page.  I truly love this size and I find myself wanting to scrap it when I need to jazz up my routine.

Just a pic of Carleen and the dogs when we were out walking at one of the parks on the trail.  (THAT went on and on and on and on...well, you get the picture!)

Easy title out of my Cameo.  This is an actual file in the Sil. store.  I am not linking stuff on this post, since I don't have much time.  If you want to know the exact file, shoot me an email and I will get you the design ID#.

And then the FUN 6 x 12 size!  Love love love this size and as I was doing this, realized that it is perfect for all those instagram pics!

Just remember to keep all your elements sized down.

The photo app is "rhonna designs" photo app.  I don't know if there is an android version or not.  I will tell you, it takes a little playing with to get it exactly right.  I find I want to do it when I have time to kill, not if I want to upload a pic quickly.  For quick edits, I like PicsPlayPro.

Tomorrow I will be back with a layout for Sketch Week over on Allison Davis' blog!!  It is a free sketch download!

My Mind's Eye Altered Composition Book for Therm O Web Adhesives

I told you I am in love with My Mind's Eye Cut and Paste collection, right?!  This is  up over on the Therm O Web blog for my take on a back to school project.

I love to altered these composition notebooks.  And I love it when they are on sale and super cheap!  With the glasses as an icon in the Flair collection of Cut and Paste, I thought it was the perfect selection to alter a notebook with.  This is made mainly of scraps from my layout the other day.

I used the Zips Craft adhesive lines to cover the main part of the notebook.  Then I used the Sticky Tape Mini Runner to add some of the embellisments.
My-Mind's-Eye-Therm O Web-Altered-Book-Katrina-Hunt-FSTW

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye (Cut & Paste Flair collection); Embellishments-My Mind's Eye  (Cut & Paste Flair collection); Flair-Paper Bakery (Project Life set); Doily-Hobby Lobby; Adhesive-Therm O Web (Zips Craft Lines, Sticky Tape Mini Runner, 3D Foam Adhesive Squares, Glitter Dust Photo Corners)

I had these chevron strips leftover from my layout and luckily hadn't thrown them away.  With a little snip, they were the perfect length to put on the front of the book.  I popped the top layer up with the 3D Foam Squares and added the Glitter Dust Photo Corners in pink after trimming them down.

I knew this card needed a little extra something, so I dug thru my Paper Bakery flair!  I found this "my stuff" flair that goes perfectly with the theme.  And bonus, the arrow was pointing the right direction!

So, pick up some of these books on sale and get to making some fun little notebooks!  I know I am going to stock up on them.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a wonderful and creative day.

Lily Bee Guest Design-School Rules Card

Today is my third (wow, really?!) guest design post over on the Lily Bee Design blog.  This week is all about "Back to School".  I chose to make a card that you could give to your kiddo heading back or to your kiddo's teacher as a welcome to the new year card.

Sweet Shoppe (Lemon Drop 12 x 12 Paper-SSP284, Cotton Candy 12 x 12 Paper-SSP285, Sweet Shoppe Label Stickers-SSS297, Sweet Shoppe Letter Stickers-SSS298)

Pinwheel (Flip-Flops 12 x 12 Paper-PWP311)

Twine, WorldWin Papers Cardstock

Silhouette Cameo with cutting file
Design ID# 30675

The cutting file calls for cut outs where the twine is, but I wanted a bow somewhere on the card and I had this black jute twine that was perfect for it. I used those cut outs as lines on the pencil instead.

And that adorable owl?  Carleen made him!  I was getting ready to take my pictures and remembered that he was sitting in the house.  So I went in and grabbed him! He will be making an appearance in my Therm O Web post also!

Thanks for stopping by today and I would love if you came over to the Lily Bee Design blog and to say hi!

Gossamer Blue Bug Love Layout

Happy Monday! HA!  I needed a longer weekend, that is a definite.  But at least the work week seems to go quickly by and then next weekend will be here before I know it.

I went to a crop a couple of weeks ago and only got 2.5 layouts done.  This was the first one!  This is my second layout with my Gossamer Blue July kit and I fiddled and fiddled with it until I was finally happy with it.  It was one of those days.

These are some pictures from the past St. Patrick's Day parade here.  They had a entire collection of Volkswagens...from bugs to vans!  I loved this pink one and the eyelashes on it!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye (Find Your Wings and Fly- Sky's the Limit No Limit *polka dot, Kate and Co- Cambridge Court May flowers *teal stripe/Spring Showers *flowers/Stripes *yellow stripe); Cork Circles-Studio Calico (Atlantic); Empherma (balloon heart flowers)-Fancy Pants Wonderful Day Pack; Chalkboard Stickers-American Crafts Remarks;  Phrase Stickers-Simple Stories (I {heart} Summer); Cork Shapes (hearts)-Fancy Pants

Supplies not in kit: Pen-Uniball gel pen; Letters-American Crafts; Doily-Hobby Lobby; Houses Stamp-Cocoa Daisy; Pattern Paper (for houses)-Simple Stories (Vintage Bliss); Ink-Memento; Punch-EK Success; Twine-The Twinery; Arrow-Freckled Fawn

I am loving making clusters more and more.  It is almost a challenge to see if I can create one that I fall in love with!  This was one.  It started with the black chalkboard sticker and the phrase sticker.  It grew from there!

I thought these black Thickers in my stash went great with the car theme.  And I can tell you that the Uniball Signo gel pen in white is THE BEST white pen around!

Well, here is to hoping that Monday goes fast and that the week goes faster!  (Can you tell I am writing this on Sunday night and not wanting the weekend to end?!)

Snapshots with My Mind's Eye Cut and Paste Flair

Watch out, it's a weekend update!  I couldn't WAIT to post this page!  I have to say that I {heart} the Cut and Paste collections from My Mind's Eye.  They are my colors and I have been in a polka dot kind of mood, so this paper was calling for me to use it!

These were just some random snapshots of Sheldon chewing on a stick out in the backyard.  I have some shots of Ella doing the same thing that I need to scrap.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper, Title element, Brad-My Mind's Eye (Cut and Paste Flair); Stars-Studio Calico; Cardstock-World Win; Punch-EK Success; Doily-Hobby Lobby; Adhesive-Therm O Web

Silhouette Cameo with the following cut files:
Design ID #6462

Chevron Background
Design ID #25439

I honestly have been hoarding these Studio Calico wood veneer stars since I got them.  I haven't really used them on much, but why let them sit around?!  And they were the perfect size to mix with the smaller enamel dots!

I didn't journal any on this layout and I am actually feeling a little weird about it.  Scary?!  The title pretty much says it all, but I may add Sheldon's name in there somewhere.

Be sure that there will be more Cut and Paste layouts on the blog soon!  Have a great weekend.  We did a little errand running, so hopefully I can play the rest of the weekend!
