Therm O Web Layout - Mini Golf Stars

My first post for Therm O Web Adhesives was up over on their blog yesterday.  There is a bit of a tutorial on my post over there if you want to check it out.  The post is HERE.

Our product focus was the Zips adhesives and they were perfect for this.  I could cut strips the length I needed and then just left the backing on until I got my placement the way I wanted.

These pics are from last summer and I had no idea how to scrap them, but I saw the palm trees and the layout grew from there.

Here is a close up of the Glitter Dust Photo Corners in Gold.  If you know my blog, I don't have a lot of glitter anything, so these were fun to use as an accent on my picture!

And I used my Silhouette with my sketch pens to journal.  Then I just placed a shape around my journaling and cut it out!  Wheeee!!    And I used the Therm O Web Foam Squares to pop up the cut and then to also pop up the stamped chevron.  Love that neon Hero Arts ink!
Have I made  you want to play mini golf now?  Or at least maybe scrapbook?!  That's all from me today.  Get busy and make some pages!

Gossamer Blue Love Ya Like A Sister and a Sneak Peak!

Had a little fun at a crop this past Saturday.  We loaded up us, the dogs, suitcases and my scrap stuff and headed up to Carleen's dad's for the weekend.  We left after work on Friday and took our time getting up there.  We ended up buying another dog crate, because it had a side door and was a good price!  Don't ask, we are dog crate poor around here!

The crop was a fund raiser for a church that had burnt down last year.  I cropped with C's sister in law, Beth and we had a great time.  I was worried she was going to tease me about how much stuff I brought, but by the end of the crop, she was covering two tables with hers!  I managed to stay on my one table, but don't ask me how. I can't wait to do it again.

I mainly worked with my July Gossamer Blue kit that I hadn't had a chance to play with.  I have gotten three layouts done so far.  I was going to work on my fourth tonight, but decided to do some blog posts instead.

This is Sheldon and his sister, Sassy.  Laura brought Sassy down for the dog show and stayed at the house.  Sassy ended up finishing her AKC Championship and is now on her way to her Grand Championship.

I was pretty sure I wouldn't use the anchor cork piece, so I just backed my sticker with it for some more layering.

Loving that Signo Uniball white pen.  I definitely intend to pick up more of these!

Just a very simple cut out, that I spruced up with those arrows.  The pack has so many, I didn't feel bad using this many on my layout!

And for the sneak, I am up over on the Therm O Web Adhesives blog for my very first design team project.  I would love if you would come over and say hi!  Here is a little peak of what is over there......

Weather Forecast with Paper Bakery

This little goodie was up over on the Paper Bakery blog last week.  This layout was challenging and NOT because of the products I had to work with.  Try more that I had a misting DISASTER!  My original background was the Lemonade card stock from Bazzill that comes in the kit.  BUT I thought I would mist something up in the corner and didn't think it all the way thru.  If you look you can see a misted heart over on the right hand side, toward the middle of the page.  Yep, mistake!  So, I ripped that background off and used the Patina cardstock instead.

Paper Bakery July Boardwalk "Scrapbook" Kit

Supplies in Kit-Cardstock-Bazzill (Patina color); Pattern Paper-Lily Bee (Sweet Shoppe “Marshmallow”   hear paper), Simple Stories (I {Heart} Summer -Hello (background), Daydream (stripes), Crate Paper The Pier Heatwave (woodgrain); Vellum pieces-Studio Calico (Atlantic 51-Piece Die Cut-arrow/map); Wood Piece-Studio Calico (Atlantic Burnished Wood Veneer Circles-heart/geotag); Stamps-Paper Bakery; Washi-Paper Bakery; Flair-Paper Bakery exclusive to the kit

Supplies not in kit: Doily-Sunny Side Up Bakery; Alphas-Jillbean Soup (yellow); Journaling Tag-Chic Tags (Vintage Note Stamps); Twine-May Arts; Ink-Jenni Bowlin (Spice Tin); Embossing Powder-American Crafts (clear); Watercolors; Stamp-American Crafts (Amy Tan); Pen-Sharpie; Adhesive-Therm O Web Adhesives

My go to embellishment, bow with something in the middle!
A close up of the pie chart stamp and the flair in the kit.

I loved the weather stamp so much, that I had to work it into my title!

I am hoping to get back into my regular blog postings 5 days a week.  Time has just slipped away from me this past month.  I have no idea how it got to be the end of July, but yes, it is!!  Thanks for stopping by today!

My Last Layout for GCD

We got news this week that GCD Studios was shutting down the design team end of things.  So sad, as I love a team atmosphere and I will miss it.  Here is my last layout that I did for them.  It was supposed to appear in the magazine this month.

These are some pictures from the second shoot that we did with April at her house.  Higgins and Ella are quite the pair, probably because they have grown up together from puppies.  It's hard to believe that Higgins will be 11 and Ella just turned 10!

Supplies:  Just a mix of collections.

I loved the tickets and I punched holes in them with a paper piercer to give the look of perforated tickets!

Just a close up of the title.  I love how subtle it is.

So, that's all from me today.  I will have a post up tomorrow of a couple of my Paper Bakery projects!

You Are My Happy Place-Photo Session Pictures!

We have had our pictures back from our photo shoot awhile now, but I just hadn't had a chance to scrap any of them.  I went to a crop a few weeks ago and managed to get a few of them on layouts.  Well, two layouts to be exact!  We got the package that had all the images from the two sessions that we did, so there are some outtakes and pictures that you wouldn't normally get in a package.  These are PERFECT pictures for projects!

If you follow my blog at all, you know Higgins is a camera ham, to say the least.  Well, he was NOT happy during our sessions, because everyone was getting their picture taken, not just him!  These were some pictures of him trying so hard to get April to take pictures of just him.  These just crack me up!

BTW, I think he thinks April is his girlfriend!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper and Stickers-Echo Park (Here and Now); Adhesive-Therm O Web; Pen-Signo; Punch-Jenni Bowlin/Fiskars

Pictures taken by April Turner of UTurn Studios  All Rights Reserved

Wow, that was a short supply list!  LOL  That's what happens when you use a collection kit and are at a crop!  I cut out these clouds from one of the papers in the collection and popped them up.

Just a shot of the banner pieces that I decided not to use as banners.  Some of them were different shaped, but I just used the Jenni Bowlin/Fiskars banner pennant punch to reshape them.  I REALLY wanted to put my journaling on the left side of these, but when I tried to cover up the chalkboard paper, it threw the entire feel of the layout off.  I literally sat on this for a couple of weeks because of the journaling.  I finally gave up and just added it underneath that title strip.  I am not totally happy with it, but it will have to do!

I am hoping to get a couple more posts up this week for sure.  I had a few CHA projects that were due this week for the show, so I got those done and out of here!  Then I have a fun little thing coming up in August that I need to get busy on this week.  Have a happy  Wednesday!

C&K-Gossamer Blue #4

Stressed, stressed and stressed!  That describes how I have been the past couple of weeks.  Finally last week, I just decided that what I could get done would get done and not to worry about the rest.  I felt like a little weight was lifted off my shoulders some by taking that stance! Let's see how long it lasts.

Here is my 4th Gossamer Blue layout with the June kit.  It has been done for over two weeks, but I just got around to getting pics and getting them edited for the blog.  I cannot believe how little I did to this and I actually like it.  Well, I feel like it needs more, but I couldn't figure out what!

June Gossamer Blue MainMain Add-OnAdd-on Paper, and Exclusive Paper

Supplies in Kits:  Pattern Paper-Lily Bee Design (Sweet Shoppe-Cotton Candy *pink w/red swirls Starburst Exclusive for GB *smile card), Crate Paper (The Pier-Surf Shop *kraft/brown chevron, Ferris Wheel-blue flower/striped, Heatwave-hexagons, Splash-stripe/kraft dotted), Basic Grey (Mint Julep-Naomi *blue flowered, Carolina *pastel flowers);Emphermea-Crate Paper (The Pier-pink/gold frame, doily square); Label-Lily Bee Design (Sweet Shoppe-black/white rectangle); Gems-Prima Marketing

Supplies not in Kits:  Pen-Signo; Flair-The Paper Bakery (Oh Happy Day Set); Adhesives-Therm O Web; Tag-Chic Tags (c/k)

I went really minimal on the entire layout.  Well, for me anyway!

Love how the Signo pen writes!  I thought a random pic, called for a random title!

I am hoping to get back on track with blogging here this week.  The last couple of weeks the blog has taken a backseat somewhat to other things.  Part of it was because I was stressed.  I tend to just hang on the iPad and play games when that happens!

Maxi Skirt Love with The Paper Bakery

Have you seen the new look over at The Paper Bakery?!  LOVE it!  Fresh, fun, clean and some new products in the store.  I think I am starting to like sequins. Shhhh...don't tell anyone!

This layout was up over on The Paper Bakery blog on Wednesday.  It's with the Boardwalk Scrapbooking kit for July.  I have fallen in love with wearing maxi skirts, so I wanted to do a page about it.  Plus since my skirt is navy and white, it when along with the nautical items in the kit!

Supplies not in kit:  Adhesives-ThermOWeb; Journaling Tag-Elle's Studio; Pen-Sharpie;  Letters-Heidi Swapp (skirt); Stapler-Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher

Close up of the journaling tag and the fun compass flair!

I loved this little vellum saying and knew I had to work it into my title!

I used my hole punch to make holes for my twine to run thru on the acrylic letters.  Then I also used a Zot cut in half on the backside of the letters in the orange to hold them down to my layout.  Then I stapled the other letters!

Plan on me being a little quiet at least over the weekend and the first of next week.  I am trying to finish up some deadlines, one of which is some CHA projects for WorldWin.  But, I will have lots to share so be ready!  Thanks for stopping by today!

A sunny layout calls for a cute sun!  And then I felt like it needed a little sparkle, so I added those glitter enamel dots!

Fun with Flags, I mean Fun with Fonts!  (if you watch Big Bang Theory you totally got that!).  Just playing around with the title.  I knew I wanted to use that ampersand in my title.  So that gave me a lot of room to play on both sides of it.

And the other side of the title!

That's all from me today!  Come back again!

Happy 4th of July with a GCD Layout

Happy 4th of July!!  This layout was up on the GCD Studios blog yesterday and it's the perfect layout to share here with you today.

This is with the Special Delivery collection, which has a lot of red, white and blue.  You can read the journaling, but these pictures were from when we went and saw The Wall That Heals, which honors our veterans that served in Vietnam.  It's a traveling 1/2 sized replica of the actual wall in Washington D.C. If you get a chance to go see this, do!  I am so happy that I did.

Supplies: Pattern Paper-GCD Studios (Special Delivery); Cardstock-WorldWin; Stickers-GCD Studios (Special Delivery); Letters-GCD Studios (black) & American Crafts (white w/black); Adhesive-Scotch ATG and Scrapbook Adhesives; Pen-Sharpie; Ruler-Tim Holtz

Silhouette Cameo with the following cut files:
Star Border
Design ID #11246

Star Backgrounds 4x6
Design ID #38451

Files by Juliana Michaels

I loved that I could include this little card that is in the collection.

Just a shot of the journaling.  I am going to tell a little secret on myself.  I messed up on the word emotional.  And since I was writing directly on my background, it just can't be "thrown" away and started over.  I just rewrote the word on a scrap piece of paper and then popped it up.  Then I decided to go ahead and do the name of the exhibit also, just to tie things together.

And a shot of those stars at the top!  Juliana Michaels made a file and was kind enough to let me use it for this layout.  Here is the link for her blog to get the file!  P.S. It has more than stars!!

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have a safe and fun 4th.   Please take time and thank a veteran for their service.  It will make their day and yours.

Camera Ham-Gossamer Blue June #3

We are just going to call this layout an attempt that may or may not have worked out!  I was truly going for an entirely different look on this, but this is what I ended up with.

I still have quite a few pictures from the pet modeling shoot that I haven't scrapped, but the pile is getting smaller.  I am not going to scrap the ones that are similar, just some of each of the backgrounds, different faces, etc.  I miss that Jetson only had a couple, so I need to get out in the yard and take more shots of him.

This is my third layout with my Gossamer Blue June kit.  I have all four done, but the last one needs a few touches here and there.  Also, journaling!

June Gossamer Blue Main, Main Add-On, Add-on Paper, and Exclusive Paper

How cute are those cameras?!

Alright, I am lucky I got this done!  I am off to bed and I will be back later in the week.  Whee, three day work week, with one day down!

You Light Up My Life with GCD Studios

Katrina here with a layout from the collection, Special Delivery.  This was up over on the GCD Studio blog on Friday.  I challenged myself to use the map paper and I am pretty happy with how my layout turned out!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-GCD Studios (Special Delivery collection); Cardstock-WorldWin Papers (white/black); Paperclip-GCD Studios (Special Delivery collection); Twine-May Arts; Sticker-GCD Studio (Special Delivery *piechart); Letter Stickers-GCD Studios (Special Delivery *black), October Afternoon (red); Chipboard Alpha-American Crafts; Adhesives-Scotch ATG and Scrapbook Adhesives; Pen-Sharpie

Silhouette Cameo with the following cut files:

TwoPeas Files:
Lightbulb (FREE FILE)

Silhouette File:
Love Borders
Design ID #31068

Delikatessen (

I just adore this globe file and wanted to use it.  I did use an offset to make it stand out a bit more.

On the light bulbs that were just the shape, I wrote each of the dogs names.  So funny, this was NOT planned!  I just noticed that it would work as I was finishing up my layout.

I tucked the family paperclip in after I tied a bow on it.

You know me, I love to play with my titles!  I also loved how the Sketchbook Thickers looked with the combo of the lightbulbs.

That's all!  Challenge yourself to use paper you normally are scared of.  You might just make a layout that you love!  Thanks for stopping by today!
