Just A Quick Update With Some Snow Fun!

This is just a quick update.  Once again, I am procrastinating getting ready for a crop this weekend!  I need to pack and print pics out.  Not necessarily in that order!  HA!  This is probably the last update I will do until Monday.

A fun thing happened to me yesterday.  My "True Love Rescue" layout was picked over on the Crate Paper blog for the Crate Paper/Gossamer Blue contest.  I was totally shocked and I am super excited.  You can see that post HERE.

We have had some winter weather with snow FINALLY!  I was able to get home and shoot a few pictures of the dogs out playing.  This is Sheldon's first real snow and he was having quite the time.

Here are a few that I managed to catch.  Let me tell you, the picture with Sheldon just standing by Higgins was the ONLY time Sheldon was not on the move.  These are NOT some of the best pictures I have ever taken, but I wanted to catch the moment.  So, I am just going with it!

Ella bossing the boys around!

Sheldon's tongue is so darn long.  And Jetson had snow on his nose that fell off right before I got the shot!

Leaping short dogs anyone?  I have a LOT of these!

Alright, I am officially calling a "blogging break" until Monday!  Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Dream It Create It-My Birthday Present!

If you are into Photoshop at all, you have probably heard of the drawing tablets that you can buy. I didn't really start wanting one until I got my Silhouette.  Then...I started thinking more about them.  Well, Carleen surprised me for my birthday this year and got me one!  I am still trying to figure it out, I just haven't had the time to sit down and play with it.

I snapped this picture because I knew I wanted to scrap the moment I brought it home.  I have two confessions about this layout.

1. The date in the corner is NOT the day I got it!

2. I used all older product on this layout, except for the little mini envelope that is under the flower.  I have a ton of the American Crafts/Amy Tangerine Sketchbook collection and I thought this was a perfect collection to use for this.  Honestly, I just have a hard time cutting into this collection, because I love it so much.

Supplies: Pattern Paper-American Crafts (Sketchbook & Ready Set Go (envelope); Embellishments-American Crafts Sketchbook; Letters-American Crafts Thickers and October Afternoon; Pen-Sharpie; Ink-Memento; Stamps-Laina Lamb Designs; Roller Stamp-American Crafts (Ready Set Go); Adhesive-Scotch ATG and Scrapbook Adhesives; Punch-EK Success

Silhouette Cameo with the following file:
Design ID 38472

I love the border strips that you can reuse, since they are so cute.  I used a couple on the page. I also used Laina's stamps again.  I can't seem to stop reaching for them.

I had an envelope that I had cut and decided it was too big for another layout.  I just added it under my flower/banner combo.  Cute border strip and a Laina stamp again!

I know I occasionally whip out an 8.5 x 11 layout on here, but I had a lot of fun with this one.  I just could not get a 12 x 12 format to work.  So, if you get stuck, switch up your layout size and see if it helps!

Smile Everyday

It seems like it has been forever since I have done a card and posted it.  In my case, if I go for a time without making cards I need to practice before I start coming up with cards I like again.

When I made my margarita layout, I whipped up this card afterwards.  Layering is a great way to make a plain card into a great card.  Also, cards are a great way to use up random journaling cards that are in collections, but don't quite fit with the layouts you have done.

Supplies:  Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern Paper-American Crafts (Ready Set Go/Amy Tangerine); Stamp-Laina Lamb Designs (Captured); Buttons-Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker; Doily-Wilton; Punch-EK Success; Twine-May Arts; Adhesive-Scotch ATG and Scrapbook Adhesives

You can see here where I added texture with the twine.  And I added dimension by popping up the journaling card and then also the "smile" banner across it.  That stamp is from Laina Lamb Designs "Captured" collection.  I also tilted the "smile" banner just a bit at the same angle as the camera.

P.S. Laina sent me a couple of stamp sets/die sets to work with.  I have bought  almost ALL off her stamps and dies now!  I love them.  The quality is amazing for a clear stamp and I get great impressions every single time I use them!

That is all from me today.  You will be seeing a lot more cards in the future, I have the itch after creating this one!  Have a great Tuesday.

True Love Rescue

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was a lazy one that is for sure.  I got a couple of new projects done that I will hopefully have up here on the blog this week.  We did a little shopping.  I did birthday shopping for C. and then getting ready to start the work week.

I am slowly scrapping pictures from our pet modeling photo shoot that we did back when Sheldon was about 5 months old.  I think we ended up buying ALL the proofs, so some of them look a lot a like.  BUT I want each picture that I scrap to have it's own feel.  Using a pink/red theme with this picture of Higgins was one way to do it!

I love these little banner stickers that came in the kit.

I love to play with my titles!

Since the sewing machine was already out, I decided to use it!  I also used the leftover hearts I had cut out for my previous layout for the sketch challenge.

Tomorrow is a CARD here on the blog-just warning you!  Hope you have a great Monday and that it goes quickly.

Sister Date Night

I was up over on the Basically Bare blog on Tuesday with this fun little layout.  I snagged this picture off of Facebook, because it was too cute for me NOT to scrap!  Seeing these two together always makes me wish I had a sister.

I won the Carta Bella collection "True Friends" off a Facebook contest and thought it was the perfect collection to use of this picture.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Carta Bella (True Friends); Flair-{a flair for buttons} etsy shop; Gear, Canvas Heart, Arrow-Basically Bare; Ink-Prima Chalk Ink; Stamp-Cocoa Daisy; Letters-American Crafts, Carta Bella & October Afternoon; Stickers-Carta Bella; Twine-May Arts; Tag-Elle's Studio; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives

I cut one of the larger gears in half here.

Mixing up the title work...

I sponged the Prima ink all over the canvas heart lightly and then used it darker on my stamping.  I didn't have any smaller arrows, so I trimmed down a bigger one.  And then the cute flair just seemed to fit right in there!

I will be back tomorrow with either a card or a layout, I haven't quite decided yet!  Have a great Wednesday!

My Favorite 5 o'Clock Drink!

Sometimes you just have to break out and do something totally different on a page.  This would be one for me!

Adding an angle has been in my head for awhile, but I just wasn't sure how I wanted to do it.  I think I will probably do it more now after this.  I broke out the mists, a stencil and lots of Laina Lamb Design stamps to create this layout.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-American Crafts (Ready Set Go); Stamps-Laina Lamb Designs (Captured Memories, Graph Paper Notes, Right This Way); Mists-Heidi Swapp Color Shine (Primrose, Teal, Chartreuse); Letters-American Crafts & Studio Calico; Ink-Jenni Bowlin (Stick Candy, Chicken Feed, Weathervane) & Memento (Tuxedo Black); Twine-The Twinery; Punches-EK Success;  Doily-Wilton; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Scrapbook Adhesives, & Fabri Tac; Pen-Sharpie; Sewing Machine; Stencil-Crafter's Workshop/Ronda Palazzari

Silhouette Cameo with the following cutting file:
Design ID 38472

A view of the angle.  I worked from the bottom up on it.  I did add the green chevron strip last.

That ADORABLE mini envelope.  I see using this a lot in the future!  I also stamped with the Color Shine mists.  I liked the watercolor effect it had on that paper.

Close up of some more stamping and the stencil.  The chevron part is actually on the other side of the stencil, I just masked off the parts to fit it in.

And that is IT for me today!  We are expecting an ice storm here, so it may get a little interesting tonight!

New Sneakers with Fancy Pants

It's Tuesday everyone!  You probably already knew that though, right?  I am a little sluggish after a three day weekend, but hopefully that will go away quickly.

Anyone that knows me in real life, knows I love shoes.  Specifically, Keen brand shoes!  I am not a "girly" shoe person at all.  No high heels, I am too much of a klutz.  I like fun casual shoes.  I had been eyeing this particular pair for over a year and they happened to go on clearance, so I snatched them up. It's hard to find size 11 to begin with, let alone on clearance.

This is Fancy Pants Hopscotch collection.  I don't use Fancy Pants much, and I am not sure why?  I LOVE the colors in this collection.

Supplies: Pattern Paper-Fancy Pants (Hopscotch); Stickers-Fancy Pants; Letters-American Crafts; Buttons-Cosmo Cricket; Ink-Jenni Bowlin; Stamp-Sodalicous; Journaling Tag-Elle's Studio; Pen-Sharpie; Doily-Wilton; Punch-Martha Stewart; Flair- {a flair for buttons} etsy shop Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives

Random button placement.  I had thought about using twine on the buttons, but I liked the naked look better for them, since there were so many.

Just a different angle shot with a little flair!

Ok have a wonderful Tuesday!  I will be back on Wednesday with another colorful project.

Loves to Run-Sketch Challenge at Gossamer Blue

Haha, fooled ya!  I am posting on Sunday and I said I wouldn't be back until Monday.  I got this layout done and couldn't wait to share it.

Gossamer Blue had another sketch by Valerie H. to play along with and since the kit has somewhat of a heart theme, I wanted to play!

Gossamer Blue Feb. 2013 Main KitColor Add On Kit and Paper Add On Kit

Supplies from kits: Pattern Paper-Crate Paper (Fourteen/Sparks), Carta Bella (Devoted/I Love You This Much-Beautiful Moments/Damask, Stripes, Chickadee), Basic Grey (True Love-Giddy/Simple Elegance), Pink Paislee (Secret Crush-Heartbeat); Journaling Tags-October Afternoon; Stickers-Crate Paper (Fourteen) Chipboard Hearts-Pink Paislee

Supplies not in kit: Stamps-Laina Lamb Designs (Captured Memories);  Ink-Memento;  ; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives; Pen-Sharpie; Sewing Machine; Mists-Heidi Swapp (Teal) & Studio Calico (Piglet)

Silhouette Cameo with the Following Files:

Both mists that I used worked wonderfully on the resist hearts.  I will be picking up more of the Color Shine from Heidi Swapp.  Loved it (the teal color here).

I used one of Laina's stamps on this label.  The font rocks on this!

I even dug out the sewing machine AFTER I had everything done!  I drew lines with a pencil for my journaling to try to keep it somewhat straight.  I then used a white artist eraser to erase my lines.  This type of eraser with not leave "marks" or scuff your paper like a regular pink eraser will.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the weekend.

Pinterest Inspired with Laina Lamb and Gossamer Blue

Don't freak out, yes I have posted twice in one day!   My first blog posting didn't auto post and I didn't realize it until later in the day.  It would have helped if I would have scheduled the time for AM vs. PM.

Gossamer Blue has started a Pinterest inspired challenge over on their blog.  I am not much for challenges usually, but I didn't want to have to think too hard to create a layout last night.  I had gotten some new Laina Lamb Design's stamps and dies from My Favorite Things that I was itching to use also.  Combine the two and I came up with a fun layout that I love and it's another one done!

Here is the Pin that I am basing my layout on.  A Christmas card of all things!

Source for pin is Shutterfly.
And then here is my layout that I came up with.  I followed the card pretty close, but I had to put my own spin on it!

Gossamer Blue Feb. 2013 Main KitColor Add On Kit and Paper Add On Kit

Supplies from kits: Pattern Paper-Crate Paper (Fourteen/Be Mine and Sweetheart), Carta Bella (Devoted/So Loved Striped-Beautiful Moments/Damask); Glitter Cardstock-American Crafts or Fancy Pants; Journaling Tags/Pennant Strip-Basic Grey (True Love); ; Ribbon-May Arts; Wooden Arrows-Studio Calico; Vellum Burst-Basic Grey (True Love); Chipboard Hearts-Pink Paislee

Supplies not in kit: Stamps-Laina Lamb Designs (Right This Way & Captured Memories); Embossing Power-American Crafts Zing; Ink-Memento; Letters- American Crafts; ; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives; Pen-Sharpie

I had to alter a letter to make the "r", I don't think it turned out to shabby.  And Laina's stamp fit perfectly in the pennant shape!  I also stamped Laina's chevron stamp along the bottom of the glitter strip and embossed it in white.

I mixed the wooden arrows from Studio Calico with a stamped arrow from Laina.

Love, LOVE this saying!  The Captured set is perfect for Project Life
(or Project 12 in my case!).

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!  I had a hectic, but fun day at work.  I am ready to relax tonight.  I will be back on the blog probably Monday!

They Call It Puppy Love-Gossamer Blue #1

I cannot believe that it is Valentine's Day already.  Wasn't it just Christmas and New Years??  I don't really make a lot of Valentine's stuff, but I thought this layout was a good one for my Valentine's Day post.

When I got my Gossamer Blue kit, my first thought was "hmmm, what am I going to do with this heart theme?"  I was a little puzzled at first, but then this layout just came together.

Gossamer Blue Feb. 2013 Main Kit, Color Add On Kit and Paper Add On Kit

Supplies from kits: Pattern Paper-Basic Grey (True Love/Vintage Love), Pink Paislee (Secret Crush/Polka Dance), Crate Paper (Fourteen/Be Mine and Sweetheart); Letter Stickers-Carta Bella (Devoted), Crate Paper (Fourteen); Journaling Tag-Basic Grey (True Love); Pink Tag, Glitter/Pink Hearts, Red Doilies-Unknown; Washi Stickers/XOXO Sticker-Crate Paper (Fourteen); Ribbon-May Arts; Wooden Heart-Studio Calico; Vellum Arrow/Word-Basic Grey (True Love)

Supplies not in kit: Clothespins-Unknown; Twine-May Arts; Letter-October Afternoon and American Crafts; Punch-EK Success; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives; Pen-Sharpie

This cluster is what took the longest for me to create.  Not sure why, I couldn't get it just the way I liked it.

The title came together quickly!

Everyone have a Happy Valentine's Day!

A little Red B@rn Love!

I forgot to post my last layout from my Jan. Gossamer Blue kit and a DT assignment for Basically Bare.  Whoops!  This was up over on the BB blog last part of January.

Carl had taken us for a drive in the country to look for deer and I had to grab a picture of this barn.  I love barns and the lighting/scene set was just to perfect!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye (Lost and Found 3); Studio Calico (Darling Dear), Teresa Collins (Now and Then), October Afternoon (Midway); Tree, Star and Cloud-Basically Bare; Chipboard Howdy-Studio Calico; Journaling Tags-October Afternoon (Farm Girl); Letter Stickers-October Afternoon; Wooden Letters-Studio Calico; Punch-Fiskar's; Flair-{a flair for buttons}; Ink-Distress Ink; Paint-Art Anthology; Mist-Art Anthology; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives; Silhouette Cameo

Love Love Love-American Crafts Style

Here's a question for you!  Is it wrong that I am sitting here at 10 pm eating an apple while I write this blog post?  I was just kind of craving one.  Random, right?

Ok, on to the good stuff!  I got to crop this weekend and got a few projects done.  I did realize that I do use my Cameo more than I thought I did.  I was missing it at the crop for little things that I wanted to do.

Another park picture of the furry kind.  I love the way the light is hitting them in this and the looks on their faces.  This layout is far from my usual style, but I love the way it turned out.  It was a good challenge for me.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper, Die Cuts, Stickers-American Crafts (Ready Set Go); Punch-EK Success; Adhesive-Scrapbook Adhesives and Scotch ATG; Flair-{a flair for buttons} Etsy shoppe; Pen-Sharpie

The journaling close up.  Follow the arrows!

Love that paw print flair button and those faces!  I had to put this close up on here just for them.

That's all from me today.  I feel like I have been such a bad blogger.  I just looked and I have two postings for Feb?  It's is the 10th (well, when I am writing this!) and I have just been slacking.  It's hard to blog everyday, but I also find it relaxing.

Have a great Monday!

Project 12 for January-Done!

Whew, January flew by and I really am trying to comprehend that it's is February.  And not really any snow to speak of yet.  That is just wrong in my book!

This is my Project 12 for January and my standard disclaimer:  PHOTO HEAVY POST!  I am not posting supplies, since I am using up the leftovers of my Gossamer Blue kits and then just adding things here and there.  If you want to know something, just leave me a comment and I will try to figure out what it is.  Chances are, I will be able to tell you.  I will list Silhouette Cameo files and their sources when I use them.

Peek A Ella Boo-MME and Gossamer Blue Guest Design Entry

I took a break from the blog a couple of days, just to kick back and not fret about it.  Plus, I didn't have anything in the "queue" ready.

I decided to enter the Gossamer Blue/My Mind's Eye Guest Designer contest.  I really don't care if I get it, I just thought it might get the creative juices flowing and it gave me a reason to buy this adorable paper from My Mind's Eye collection "Collectable/Notable"!   This has to be one of my favorite collections from MME.  And a bonus to this is I found a layout using some Indie Chic that I haven't shared yet on the blog.  I had forgotten about it and not even edited the pictures!

One of the park pictures I took a couple of weekends ago.  Ella is just so darn happy here! Probably because she had just gotten done bossing the boys around!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye (Collectable/Noteable); Chipboard-My Mind's Eye; Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye; Sticker-My Mind's Eye; Cardstock-American Crafts; Letters-American Crafts & October Afternoon; Stamp-American Crafts; Twine-May Arts; Doily-Wilton; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Scrapbook Adhesives, Fabri-Tac; Sewing Machine

Silhouette Cameo with the following files:

Just a little close up  of the corner detail and that fun teal blue chipboard flower!

Title fun!  And yes, I even dug out the sewing machine.  I need to use it more!

And now, I have a super, duper fun layout that I LOVE to add to my every growing collection that I need to put away in an album!!!  Have a great night!
