This is Life, or at least for Ella! (Gossamber Blue #4)

This may be my fourth layout with my November Gossamer Blue kit, but I still have goodies left and may make a couple more!

This is truly an Ella captured moment in the backyard.  So regal, so elegant and so serene.  She has to watch for squirrels and cats!  And I had to jump on the "white stem/flourish" bandwagon.  Thanks Emily Pitts!

Me Captured (Gossamer Blue #3)

Everyone have post Thanksgiving turkey regret?  Or maybe I should ask, shopping regret?!  All I can say it's going to take a few days for me to recover from the festivities.

A "rare" layout with a picture of me on it.  And there are not even any dogs in the picture either.  What is up with that?  Carleen took this when we went to the Japanese Festival here in town while we were walking around the stroll garden.

5 Months-Gossamer Blue #2 for November

It's the day before Turkey Day or Thanksgiving, if you prefer!  This year I have a lot to be thankful for, that I never really gave much thought to.  Learning to appreciate the here and now, the little things, and just life in general.  I am so thankful that I am learning this, instead of just thinking I am learning it!

Up for today (and probably until Monday) is my second layout with my November Gossamer Blue kit. The picture on the layout is one from our pet modeling session with April at UTurn Studios that I finally got around to getting on a page.  Picture is used with her permission!

Looking for some fun ideas? Quirk has them!

This is a little different post today.  Quirk Publishing contacted me about a PDF that they are giving out for FREE.  It's a sampling from some of their crafty/art books that they publish just to give you an idea of what is in the PDF.  There are some super cute ideas that I want to try in it, so I thought you might want to also.

All you need to do to get this is go to this page right HERE and download the PDF file.  I am loving that doggie gadget cover, the mini books, and those mini pop tarts.  All the instructions are there to make a bunch of fun little projects. And they tell you what book they are out of, just in case you want more fun.

So head over and get your PDF.  You might find a book that you want to add to your Christmas list.  Mine is that Pure Vanilla book.  I am a vanilla freak....white cake/white icing/vanilla ice cream!!!

Have a great Tuesday!

Hat Trick-November Gossamer Blue #1

Ever start a layout and about 10 minutes into it just give up?  That was me with this one.  I had printed smaller close up pics of everyone's face/hat and tried to use them with the bigger pic and it just wasn't working.  So, I gave up and vegged out on the couch for the rest of the night!

When I dragged it back out, I ditched those smaller pics and just went to work with the bigger one.  I am ok with how it turned out.  I think my mojo is just a little off right now. And that looks like a shadow across the page, but really it isn't.  I think it is an illusion from the way the paper is shaded.

Gossamer Blue November Main Kit and Add-On Kit #2

Supplies in Kits: Pattern Paper-Heidi Swap (Vintage Chic *Handwritten), Pink Paislee (Portfolio *Amazing), I lowe SCRAP (Summer Dreamer 01), Glitz (Cashmere Dame *Floral); Letters-Heidi Swap and Glitz; Enamel Dots-My Mind's Eye (The Sweetest Thing); Chipboard-American Crafts (Dear Lizzy *5th and Frolic); Wooden Arrows-Sodalicious; Owl/Cloud-Glitz (Hello Friend); Stamp-Sodalicious

Supplies not in Kit: Doily-Wilton; Flair-{a flair for buttons}; Ribbon-May Arts; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri-Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I used a couple of different flair pieces.....

I wasn't sure about the owl, but I kind of like him sticking out up there!

So, one layout down from the November kit and three more to go!  I think I can do it.  hee hee

A Dog Will Steal Your Heart-Jillibean Soup Goodness

I hadn't done a sketch in awhile, but when I saw the one over at Jillibean Soup that Nicole had created, I decided it was time to change that!  And of course, I totally changed it up. Would you expect any less?  I have a ton of Jillibean paper left from my guest design projects, so it was a win win to do the sketch. Plus, it just racks another layout done!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Jillibean Soup (Soup Staples II, Grandma's Lima Bean Soup, Winter Tortellini and Spinach Soup); Hexies/Circles-Jillibean Soup; Banners-Jillibean Soup; Tag-Jillibean Soup; Letters-Jillibean Soup, American Crafts; Mist-Studio Calico Mr. Huey's (Atmosphere); Adhesive-Scotch ATG and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

I just added a smaller subtitle.  I needed something in that spot and they did the trick.

LOVE the long title and I had fun playing with all my letter stickers and different fonts.

I am off of here for the weekend.  I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week.  Way too quick in my opinion, but for some reason I don't think I have a say!  We are doing Christmas pics with the dogs tomorrow, so we will see how that goes.  Have a great weekend.

You Love a Beautiful Day-Little Yellow Bicycle

This has to be one of my favorite Little Yellow Bicycle layouts that I have ever done!  I love LYB's fall collections and Acorn Hollow is no exception.  I saved my favorite layout for last.

These are pics that I have had printed, just waiting to be scrapped and they went perfect.  BTW, I print at home.  So it's not like I have a huge order sitting around!  I print and then I change my mind on what I want to scrap!  LOL

Supplies:  Pattern Paper, Embellishments-Little Yellow Bicycle (Acorn Hollow); Twine-May Arts; Punch-EK Success; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Fabri-Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives

Close up of the fun leaf embellishments that are in the collection.

I loved this little fox and thought he looked cute at the bottom of the trees.  And the owl for the O in LOVE!

If I get them edited, I will have pictures from the weekend on here tomorrow.   Our friend and Sheldon's breeder, Laura, came down to show Sheldon's sister in the dog show here.  We had a mini reunion as Maddox (another puppy from the litter) came up on Saturday and they all romped in the backyard!

Sorry no projects...I have been so busy working on stuff that I can't show. Jillibean Soup guest design spot for December and then some upcoming Basically Bare posts!

Fall Is In The Air-Little Yellow Bicycle Layout

Whew, crazy busy around here!  Can you believe that I still haven't shown all my Little Yellow Bicycle projects?  That is being taken care of this week!  I have a layout today and then I will have one on Wednesday.

This layout uses one 12 x 12 sheet of pattern paper for the background.  The rest are from the 6 x 6 mini pad that is in the Acorn Hollow collection.  I felt the background was busy enough with the tall, tall trees and I really wanted to try to use it as a background.  So in came the 6 x 6 mini sheets!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper, Embellishments-Little Yellow Bicycle (Acorn Hollow); Twine-May Arts; Punch-Martha Stewart; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Fabri-Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives

Close up of the twine and bow.  (don't look at my pic!)

Embellishment cluster!

This was a very, very simple layout for me.  This is comparing to what I usually do.  But it was perfect at the time I was creating it and I still love it!

Come back Wednesday!!

Fall Banner Time with Little Yellow Bicycle

It's a banner day on the blog today!  I think fall banners are one of my favorites to make.  They just seem to "flow" right out of me and come together quickly.

Little Yellow Bicycle always has so many embellishments that you can create a ton of projects using them and still have some left over.  As you look at each panel, you can see I used quite a few on each, but I still had enough to do a layout, card and still have some left over.  Plus, they are quick to use and I didn't have to think too much!

Supplies: Chipboard-Little Yellow Bicycle; Pattern Paper-Little Yellow Bicycle (Acorn Hollow); Acetate and Chipboard Embellishments-Little Yellow Bicycle (Acorn Hollow); Accordian Flower Kit-Little Yellow Bicycle (Acorn Hollow); Punch-EK Success; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L; Jute Twine-Unknown; Ink-Prima

So you can see the detail better on each panel:

This was created with the 6x6 mini pad from the collection.  No sheets of 12 x 12 were harmed in the process of making this!  Those mini pads are perfect for little projects like this.  The smaller patterns will not overwhelm your altered project.

Have a wonderful day.  Right now it's cloudy and overcast here and I love it!

Mixing some Gossamer Blue and Basically Bare Goodies!

Have I mentioned that I am totally in love with the color scheme of the Oct. Gossamer Blue kit?  I think the brown and orange make the rest of the colors pop.  This is my fourth layout with the kit (which I also got the main paper add on) and I could still make a couple more layouts.  I did use cardstock on a couple of them, which I normally don't do.

This is also a DT project for Basically Bare that was on the blog the past week.  So excited, as we have some new DT members coming aboard that will be announce shortly.  I cannot wait to see what they come up with.

Gossamer Blue October Main Kit and Main Paper Add On

Supplies in kit:
Pattern Paper-Jillibean Soup (Garlic Flakes/Toasted Pumpkin Seed), Bella Blvd. (Bliss/Leaf Pile),  Lawn Fawn (Bookworm/Checked Out); Washi Tape-Bella Blvd.; Tags-Chic Tags; Button-Bella Blvd.; Hemp Twine-Lawn Fawn; Letter Stickers-Lawn Fawn; Tag Sticker-Jillibean Soup

Supplies not in kit:
Letters-American Crafts Thickers and October Afternoon; Adhesives-Scotch ATG/Fabri-Tac/3L Scrapbook Adhesives; Pen-Zig Millenium; Punches-American Crafts and EK Success; Mists-Mr. Huey's; Twine-May Arts; Modeling Paste; Houses and Pennant-Basically Bare; Gingham Fabric Tape-Love My Tapes

Close ups of the houses from Basically Bare.  I made a double knot out of the hemp twine to make the door knob here.

This one I used the modeling paste on, after I ripped off the top layer of cardboard on the house.  I thought it made it look like a little log cabin!

I just added this large pennant from Basically Bare at the last minute as a little extra touch.  I am happy with how it turned out.

Since I am pre-scheduling this, I have went and voted today.   I just crawled out of bed and went and got in line before the polls opened.  Luckily our polling station is just up the block and no one is going to care how you look at "dark-thirty" in the morning!  I hope you exercise your right to vote today also.

Autumn Bliss-Little Yellow Bicycle Acorn Hollow

When I was uploading projects to my Flickr account, I realized that I had not shared any of my Little Yellow Bicycle Cycling Team projects from the Acorn Hollow collection.

Here is the card I made with the collection.  I love that maroon text paper and I knew I had to use it on my card somewhere.  For the card I used only the 6x6 mini pad from the collection as far as the pattern paper.

Supplies:  Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern Paper-Little Yellow Bicycle (Acorn Hollow); Stickers-Little Yellow Bicycle (Acorn Hollow); Stick Pins-Little Yellow Bicycle (Acorn Hollow); Ribbon-May Arts; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

And a close up of the cluster.  I started with the three leaves and then just kept adding on, until I got the look I wanted.

I will definitely have more LYB Acorn Hollow projects on my blog this week, since I hadn't shown them yet.  I will also have another layout using my October Gossamer Blue kit and some Basically Bare goodies.  So be sure to stop back by!

AND MAKE SURE TO VOTE TOMORROW!  EVERY VOTE COUNTS!

Should We Jump? Gossamer Blue #3

My thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by Hurricane/Cyclone Sandy.  So glad to hear from Jingle that she was ok and read on Facebook the rest of my scrappy and dog online friends that weathered the storm and are ok.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween.  It was a little crazy with four dogs in the house, but the baby gate did the trick of keeping them in and keeping the trick or treat goers out!  Had to clean up the crafty area so that we could get to the front door.  (For those of you that don't know, I have a fold up table that I pull out and craft on, right in the pathway of the front door)

This is my third layout from my October Gossamer Blue kit and totally out of the normal range for me. Not a lot of layers or dimension to it.  I do like the way it turned out though!

Gossamer Blue October Main Kit and Main Paper Add On

Supplies in kit:
Pattern Paper-Jillibean Soup (Garlic Flakes/Toasted Pumpkin Seed), Bella Blvd. (Bliss),  Lawn Fawn (Bookworm/Checked Out), Basic Grey (Cotton Dress); Cardstock-Bazzill; Washi Tape-Bella Blvd.; Tags-Chic Tags; Letter Stickers-Jillibean Soup and Lawn Fawn; Tag Sticker-Jillibean Soup

Digital Cut Files-Lori Whitlock that came with the kit

Supplies not in kit: Letters-October Afternoon; Flair-{a flair for buttons} Etsy Shop; Adhesives-Scotch ATG/Fabri-Tac/3L Scrapbook Adhesives; Pen-Zig Millenium; Punch-Martha Stewart and American Crafts

Close up of the punched border strip at the top.

I had to add some flair from {a flair for buttons} of course!  I thought this piece was pretty cute, especially with the looks on their faces in the picture.

Well, this is short and sweet.  I am heading to bed (I am pre-scheduling this!) and going to read for a bit.  Hopefully my Sleepy Time tea will kick into action pretty quickly!
