My "Bucket List" Goal That Happened

So back on my Part One mini album post, I showed a screen shot of my mini as TwoPeas featured project for the day.  Ever since I have been posting at TwoPeas it has been a "goal (or dream!) of mine to be the feature project.  I guess you could say it was one of my scrappy "bucket list" goals.  So, scrapping is all about documenting and that is what I did!

I figured it would be fitting to use some Jillibean Soup to scrap my layout with. Pardon the shadow on the first shot.  This is really just a me page and I retook shots a few times trying to get them the way I wanted.  I finally just gave up. My spot on the front porch is tricky this time of year because there is a tree that filters the light.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Jillibean Soup (Grandma's Lima Bean collection); Letters-Jillibean Soup (Blossom Soup and Kraft Alphas); Tags/Diecuts-Jillibean Soup (Grandma's Lima Bean); Doily-Wilton; Flair-{a flair for buttons} Etsy shop; Ribbon-May Arts; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Scrapbook Adhesives, Fabri-Tac; Pen-Zig; Stapler-Tiny Attacher

Close up of the flair that I have an addiction to!  I just tucked the "joy" tag underneath it and then centered everything on a few diecuts.

I always tie my bows separate.  I just like the look of them better when I tie them separate.  I ran the ribbon the length of the page and tacked it in the back.  I did use my Tiny Attacher to staple each end, more for fun than for use!

I have to say it was pretty fun to actually make one of my scrappy goals and then get to scrap about it!  Hope everyone is safe on the east coast.  I am sending positive vibes that way for you all.

Water Monster-Gossamer Blue Oct #2

I used to do a lot of layouts/projects with black and white pictures, but I seemed to have gotten away from it now.  I thought these pictures of Sheldon were adorable when I edited them in black and white that I decided to leave them that way.

Love the look on Sheldon's face here.....

Segway Fun-Part Two Jillibean Mini Album

Ok, I am back with Part Two of my mini album...are you ready?!  I think my favorite thing about this section is that Silhouette Cameo file with the arrows.  I just used the arrows that were cut out of the file, flipped to the opposite side and popped them up on the main card part of the file.

Silhouette Cameo with the following files:

So there you have it!  I had a lot of fun putting this together.  I won't lie, it did take awhile, minis usually do.  But you basically have a little scrapbook page for each section!  Have a great day.

Trick or Treat x3 with Basically Bare

I was up over on the Basically Bare blog Tuesday with this layout.  I love Halloween, but I don't seem to do many crafty things for it or with it.  Not sure why, maybe just lazy?!  LOL  These pictures were from last year where I dressed up for work.  Then I got home and had to dress up the dogs for a photo shoot!

Supplies: Pattern Paper-Pebbles (Tricks and Treats); Moon, Stars, Banner-Basically Bare; Twine-The Twinery; Stickers-Pebbles (Tricks and Treats); Paint-Acrylic, Martha Stewart Glitter Paint; Glitter-Martha Stewart; Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and 3L Scrapbook Adhesives; Letters-American Crafts, Stickles-Distress Stickles Rock Candy

Love the fact that you can paint with acrylic paint and before it dries completely, sprinkle glitter on it and it will "set" the glitter!

I just smeared Rock Candy Distress Stickles over the acrylic star.  I just wanted the shine and texture on it.

The banner pennants are great to use for titles!

That's all from me today.  Hope you have a wonderful day and get some scrappy time in!

Perfect Sunday Afternoon-Gossamer Blue Oct #1

I finally got to dig into my October Gossamer Blue kit.  I just hadn't felt like digging in until now, with everything that was going on.  But, I got two layouts done last night and did them both in about an hour.  Which is speedy for me, BTW!

This is actually the second layout, but it came up first in my Flickr queue.  I decided to do an 8.5 by 11, just to mix things up a bit.

Supplies in kit: Cardstock-Bazzill; Pattern Paper-Jillibean Soup (Garlic Flakes/Toasted Pumpkin Seed), Bella Blvd. (Leaf Pile), Basic Grey (Cotton Dress), Lawn Fawn (Bookworm), Webster's Pages (In the Paper); Washi Tape-Bella Blvd.; Tags-Chic Tags; Button-Bella Blvd.; Hemp Twine-Lawn Fawn; Letter Stickers-Lawn Fawn/Jillibean Soup

Supplies not in kit: Doily-Wilton; Letter Stickers-Jillibean Soup; Punches-American Crafts/Fiskars-Jenni Bowlin; Twine-May Arts; Flair-{a flair for buttons} Etsy Shop; Adhesives-Scotch ATG/Fabri-Tac/3L Scrapbook Adhesives; Pen-Zig Millenium

Money shot of the banner/border work and that tag from Chic Tags that was included in the kit.

I had to add some flair from my favorite flair shop {a flair for buttons}.  The colors on it tied the flair into the layout.

We went to a park on the northside of town that is basically like the woods to a city girl like me on Sunday.  Fair warning, you will probably be seeing lots of pictures from that trip!  Have a great day.

Segaway Fun-JIllibean Mini Part One

This mini album was one of my DT submissions for Jillibean Soup.  I had a lot of fun making it and I was totally shocked when it was featured over at Two Peas in a Bucket on Thursday/Friday!!  First time of anything of mine being featured....a dream come true!  Here's a screen shot and yes I will be scrapping the picture!

So, I am posting Part One today, because there are a lot of pages in the mini album.  I know a lot of people like to see each page.  They will be in the order that they are in the mini, so you can get an idea of how I put it together.  Not posting a supply list, everything is Jillibean Soup except for some Twinery baker's twine, Inks, and a Doily!  Adhesives are my standbys-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac and 3L Scrapbook Adhesives.   I will list the Silhouette files at the end of the post, those are Jillibean also and one other one.

Silhouette Cameo with the following files:

I will have Part Two up on Wednesday!  I hope you come back to see the finished mini.

A Special Favor for my Readers/Followers

This is Lanie and oh how I love this girl and her free spirit.  I met Lanie when she was working for Nikki as her General Manager and taking care of business.  We road tripped together to Summer 2011 CHA/Chicago and that drive was a great way for us to get to know each other better.

I don't even know where to begin, so I am just going to copy some of Nikki's post that she had on her blog earlier in the week....thanks in advance for participating.

This is "our" sweet Lanie who has worked for us the last 3 1/2 years. Lanie recently moved to Chicago (in March) to be closer to her boyfriend. Of which we kind of sported her on but didn't want to loose her... but knew her heart was already in Chicago so off she went. She found a job working for another husband wife team that have a small business and she of course was a perfect fit for them. Scott (the boyfriend) and Lanie's relationship only strengthen   and they grew closer and decided to move in together. They aren't kids anymore, they are in their early 30's and know what they want.  So we were happy for her and looking forward to meeting Scott soon.
Lanie started having some back issue and started seeing a doctor. Then many other different symptoms started popping up. One of which were some some lumps and strange unexplained bruises. So to make a long story short she went and got an MRI, ultrasound and mammogram all in one day only to find out later in the day she had 20  tumors throughout her body. Lanie then went in for biopsies soon after finding this out.  She found out Wednesday they are malignant melanoma. She has cancer. Lanie is looking into some clinical trials for treatment.
If you'd like to follow her journey she has a website that she has already started telling her story and by the way she is a great writer. This is her website: http://blondsinboots.com. If you decide to read her story be sure and start with "And I thought the move to Chicago was big milestone (Part 1)" (you will have to scroll down) then "part ll" and she should be updating her latest entry today, about her visit to the doctor.

Now for the "Favor" part:
I actually want to do 2 things (you can choose from one or do both)...
1. Make a few "thank you" cards (with coordinating envelopes) for her and her family to have on hand to send out as she will be getting, and is getting a lot flowers, food etc.. I'd like her to not have to buy a single card for anything. (I'm going to buy her a roll of stamps so she doesn't have to do anything but put them in the mail box!)
2. I want to send her a card every single day to let her know how much she is loved and thought of daily!

So... if you wouldn't mind creating a few thank you cards and or a few cards to send to her personally then mail me all of them and I'll get them to her.  Both kinds of cards need to have the envelopes with them (I had to ask, because I create odd shaped cards!)
I'll mail the thank you cards in batches and then save the daily cards for well everyday. The "everyday" cards can be from you personally or if you aren't comfortable with that then blank is fine (although I know she'd like to hear from you even if you didn't know her personally) but I will write in it where it came from an a little note if you'd rather leave it blank!  I'll shuffle them up and send them out one by one.

She needs this. We have to keep her spirits up!!! I want to bombard her with love!!
Thanks so much and please keep her in your prayers, she will need it.
Please send cards to..

Sneaky Girl-Gossamer Blue #4

Finally got around to finishing my fourth Gossamer Blue layout for September.  I just haven't been in the mood to scrap, but I knew I had to get this done by the deadline!  I want that free album, hee hee.

Thanks for all the encouraging words on my previous blog post and those of you that said you had missed me being around.  I just needed to regroup and gather to get back in the swing of things.

I had no idea that L. was behind me here!  Picture was taken by E. and a great shot I might add.

Supplies in kits: Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye-(Bluebell Lively), October Afternoon (Woodland Park 8x8 pad), Pebbles (Sunny Days); Echo Park (Chevron Woodgrain); Journaling cards-Echo Park (Everyday Eclectic); Masking Tape Stickers-Pebbles; Label Sticker-October Afternoon (Woodland Park); Die Cut Label-October Afternoon (Woodland Park);  Washi Tape-My Mind's Eye; Letters-Pebbles and American Crafts; Flowers-Prima

Just added these at the last minute for a little extra....

Please come back tomorrow, I have a very special favor to ask for a dear person.....

6 x 6 Mini Pads, use them...don't hoard them!

Ok, so I know probably a LOT of you have those fun little 6 x 6 mini pads that we all love to collect, but never seem to use...right?!

A very talented scrapper, Lisa Swift, is doing a feature on her blog this week about them.  SO, you need to head over there and check it out!

I am up today over there, but you need to check out the entire week!  She has asked a bunch of us to participate and I am sure there are going to be a ton of ideas that we are all going to want to try.

Here is a peek of what I have going on........

Here is a peek of a project you will see, but you have to head over to their blog to check out the rest!!!

Have a great Tuesday!

Camera Hijacked-Basically Bare and Cocoa Daisy

Hi, hello, howdy, etc!  Back today with another Basically Bare project that I have had done for awhile and hadn't posted.  I used my Cocoa Daisy kit for this and loved the way it turned out.  I probably would have NOT picked the red/pinks for this had I not used my kit.  But the color combos are perfect for the pictures!

Cocoa Daisy Sept 12 Main Kit and Pattern Paper Add On

Supplies: Cardstock-Pattern Paper-October Afternoon (Woodland Park), Echo Park (For The Record 2), Basic Grey (Handmade Quilt/Flannel Suit), Lily Bee (Fussy Cut); Garland-Basic Grey (Clippings); Sticker-Jillibean Soup (Neapolitan Bisque); Letters-American Crafts; Wooden girl-Studio Calico

Supplies not in kit: Film Strip/Camera/Canvas Lens/Pennants-Basically Bare; Letter Stickers-October Afternooon; Doily-Wilton; Flair- {a flair for buttons} Etsy; Punch-EK Success; Stamp-Amy Tan/American Crafts; Adhesives-Scotch ATG/Fabri Tac/Scrapbook Adhesives; Ink-Prima; Pen-Zig

Those pennants fit right with the scallop in my border punch.

Just tucked the filmstrip in and then I also used the flower from the Cocoa Daisy card in the kit!

Loving the camera.  I backed the lens with a fabric piece cut from a Basically Bare heart and then also stamped on a scrap of it.

Whew, I think that catches me up on my Basically Bare projects that you haven't seen for now.  Check back tomorrow for my LYB Acorn Hollow projects!

Where to even begin.....

It's has been a different couple of weeks.  Getting used to a new normal and just trying to figure out where to go from here.  NO, I am NOT giving up scrapping, it's my one thing that keeps me somewhat sane (ha ha) even if I don't really seem like it at times!  And I am not going to post details, etc. I don't feel like it is necessary. (some of you know and I am good with that!) I am just trying to get a new routine and the blog took the backseat during the process.  Hopefully, I am on track now and I have a ton of projects to share.

It seems to be a time of endings right now...guess it goes along with summer coming to an end and fall beginning. And I am looking at it as..."when one door closes a BETTER one opens". Yes, corny, but I am going with it. I am looking at a fresh start of sorts.  My ScrapbookSteals.com design team came to an end in Sept. as did being the lead of Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker.  You can read about what is going on with Nikki in her blog post HERE.  But I am the lucky one, since Nikki introduced me to all this crazy!  And I would have never imagined I would be doing what I do now when she did. And I am right here, whatever she decides to do.

Now on to the scrappy stuff!  I am so happy that I am staying on with Basically Bare for another term.  I love their products and working with them.  I actually have a couple that I haven't shared here yet, so here is one of them, a card.

Supplies: Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern Paper-Studio Calico (HeyDay); Brad, Tags, FabRips-Studio Calico (HeyDay); Letter Stickers-Making Memories; Canvas Heart, Bird, Clouds/Stars, Frame-Basically Bare; Ink-Prima; Twine-May Arts; Paint-Ranger/Jenni Bowlin; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac, Scrapbook Adhesives; Pen-Zig

To get that brad into the canvas heart, I just used a hole punch.

Look close, it was misting when I took the pictures and you can see it on my tag!

Love clustering the stars and cloud together.

So, I am back and hoping to update a little more frequently since I have worked thru some things.  I have a special post for Sunday and then on Tuesday my Little Yellow Bicycle Cycling Team projects for Acorn Hollow will be going up on the LYB blog and a few sneaks here!

Just a little scrappy news....

Short and sweet again, I promise I will be back in the swing here soon.  Excited about this....Thanks Kimber and Jill!

AND this....

Excited that I was asked to come back again as a Cycling Team Member for the Acorn Hollow collection!  I already have two projects done and a few ideas brewing!!  It's a super cute collection and I am in love with it!  Thanks for asking me back again, LYB!
