Sitting in the BIG Chair-Basically Bare

Vacation, well let's just say I did about absolutely nothing and leave it at that!  I did a little DT work that need to be done, took quite a few naps here and there,  and not much else.  We did have a purpose for vacation....these two below had to have some surgery done, so we took some time off for them.

Sheldon got neutered and microchipped.

And Higgins had a dental, which ended up in two teeth out.  Ouch.....

They are both getting around and feeling fine.  Higgins is quite happy and a little "gummy" and Sheldon has been on and off the leash in the house to restrict his jumping around and wrestling with the big dogs!

I had a post up over on the Basically Bare blog yesterday.  We are in the final stages of debuting all the fun new goodies that you can play with!  I was allowed to work with any of them and here is what I ended up with.

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Fancy Pants (Summer Soul); Canvas-Frame-'Staches-Basically Bare; Brad-Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker; Punch-American Crafts; Letters-American Crafts and October Afternoon; Ribbon and Twine-May Arts; Tag-Staples; Flair-{a flair for buttons} Etsy Shoppe; Stamp-Unity; Inks/Mists/Paint-Tattered Angels, Ranger Distress Stain; Acrylic Paint; Jenni Bowlin; Adhesive-Fabri-tac, Scotch ATG

Silhouette Cameo with the following files:
Design id #27512

Design id #27953

Some fun May Arts ribbon thru the canvas holes on the page with a cute little flair button to embellish the center of the tied knot bow.

And I used the 'Staches as accent pieces on the picture and frame.  I edged with my new favorite, Ranger Distress Stain in Picket Fence.  Seriously in love with the's almost like paint, but not quite as heavy.

I am up on Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker blog today with a couple of projects and a sneak of what I have been working on that will be revealed in August.  Also, check out Nikki's blog tomorrow, we have Guest Diva Delaina Burns with a couple of fun projects and a giveaway!

A Free Sketch and Crazy Hair Ella (Cocoa Daisy)

If you are a lover of sketches head to Scrapbook Generation's blog and download a free sketch from Allison!  Here is the LINK.  It is a very cute sketch!

And speaking of sketches, this layout was based on a sketch over on Cocoa Daisy's blog.  I did change it because I wanted to use this picture and the picture on the sketch is square.

Supplies:  Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern Paper-Echo Park (Lovely Chevron), My Mind's Eye (Chevron and Turquoise Wood), October Afternoon (steno pad), Crate Paper (Storyteller Tag Cuts); Button-Unknown; Brad-October Afternoon (9-5); Stamp-Cocoa Daisy; Diecut Tags-October Afternoon (9-5 Tidbits); Paperclip-7 Gypsies

Supplies not in kit used on layout
Ribbon-May Arts; Punch-American Crafts; Pen-Sharpie; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri-Tac and Glue Dots; Canvas Heart-Canvas Corp; Ink-Memento; Mist-Studio Calico Mr. Huey's (Bluegrass)

I have had this canvas heart in my stash for about a year!  Time to use it!

I layered a few of the tags from Crate Paper to create my own.

And I recently picked up a set of these.  You know I love border punches and I couldn't resist a "set" like this.  So far I like them pretty well.  I used them on the layout above.  They don't seem quite a sturdy as my punches that are not interchangeable....but I think that is to be expected.  They are super easy to use and change out and there are some good basic border shapes in there.  I even gave a set as a birthday gift...which was perfect for her, because she didn't have any border punches at all!

And in other news....THIS little guy has learned how to jump on the big people couch now.  He has been on and off the dog couch (aka the loveseat under the window) for awhile, but it has a box for them to step up on.  At least he isn't jumping off, which could hurt his growth plates until they fully close.  He is just sliding like a snake off the cushions!

And I am just going to leave it there for now!  Have a great rest of your Friday!  Don't forget to go download your free sketch!

New Goodies from Basically Bare!

Whoo hoo, everyone knows that CHA was this week.  Basically Bare wasn't at the show, but did release some fun, new stuff for their Summer release!  If you head over to the Basically Bare blog, you can see projects and videos demonstrating these new items.  (heehee...I will be up in a few days..project no video!!)

How fun, right?  I did come up with something for the 'Staches that is out of the box for them.

I haven't figured out what my favs are from CHA yet....I will get back with you on that one!

Mid Week Mojo with Glitz Designs!

It's Wednesday, which means it's time for Mid Week Mojo over at on the blog.  I was the lucky one that made the sketch this week and got to work with Glitz Designs Happy Travels Collection.  Here is my sketch...btw..this is my very first sketch that I have made and shown anyone.

I had these pictures of being in the top of the Willis Tower when I when to CHA in 2011 and thought they would go perfect with the colletion.  I did "blue" up the sky a little bit in PSE because it was so hazy that day, but still it was neat to see!

Supplies: Pattern Paper-Glitz Designs Happy Travels Collection (; Stamps-Unity Stamp Co.; Punch-Fiskars; Twine-May Arts; Lettering-American Crafts, October Afternoon, and Glitz Designs; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Scrapbook Adhesives and Fabri-tac.

Love this gemstone with the twine...and those epoxy stickers are fun to add in for small details.

And I made a card based on the sketch.  If you look really hard, you can see the sketch basics.

Supplies: Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern Paper-Glitz Designs Happy Travels Collection (; Punch-Fiskars; Twine-May Arts; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Scrapbook Adhesives and Fabri-tac.

Cocoa Daisy Fun-Reading Buddies

The layout below represents a daily ritual!  Carleen out on the back porch, reading and the dogs piled around her.  Sometimes it is one of them and sometimes it is all of them.  It doesn't matter if it's over 100, they will sit out there at least for a little while.  The only thing that really has changed about this is that Carleen now reads on her iPad, instead of her Nook color!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Echo Park (ViewMaster and Lovely Chevron), My Mind's Eye (Chevron and Turquoise Wood), October Afternoon (Typing Pool), Crate Paper (Storyteller Tag Cuts); Letter Stickers-Sassafras; Button-Unknown; Diecut Tags-October Afternoon (9-5 Tidbits); Paperclip-7 Gypsies

Supplies not in kit used on layout
Letters-American Crafts Thickers; Twine-May Arts; Punch-EK Success; Pen-Sharpie; Doily-Wilton; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri-Tac and Glue Dots; Butterfly Flair-{a flair for buttons} Etsy shoppe; Washi Tape-My Mind's Eye

LOVE that butterfly flair button!!  It came in my recent order from
{a flair for buttons} and I had to use it ASAP!

Just a close up of the title!

Lazy weekend here again, I work today and tomorrow and then I am off until next Monday!  Whoo hoo, gotta love some vacation days.  Taking them mainly because Sheldon has a neuter and Higgins has a dental.  Love our vet, but we always are worrywarts when it comes to the furkids!

100 Days of Summer Fun-Simple Stories

It's my first "official" debut posting over at the blog today and I admit I am a little nervous.  And the steal is a new vendor for them Simple Stories.  I got to work with the Simple Stories 100 Days of Summer collection.  I came up with a couple of layouts and a card to share, so let's get to them.  (There are more pictures over on the ScrapbookSteals blog that aren't here!)

Additional supplies I used:
Doily-Wilton; Button-American Crafts; Twine-The Twinery Baker's Twine; Punch-Fiskars;
Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri-tac and Scrapbook Adhesives

I was looking thru pictures, trying to come up with some for another layout (not like I don't have any!?!) and found these and though they would be fun to use with the collection! And I had LOTS of fun with the sticker sheets on this layout!

Additional supplies I used:
Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri-tac and Scrapbook Adhesives

And then I made this card quickly, after I had finished that first layout.

Additional supplies I used:
Twine-May Arts; Button-American Crafts
Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri-tac and Scrapbook Adhesives

This is a great collection and I can't believe I hadn't added it to my small pile of scrapbooking supplies before now.  Yes, I am using "small" loosely!  LOL  My big is acutally quite big!  That's all from me today!!  Get busy scrapping!

Funny Faces-Playing with Cocoa Daisy July kit

I totally did NOTHING over the weekend.  I slept, read and just vegged out.  I know it is good to do that sometimes, but it also has a tendency to put me in a slump for creating.  Which I hate, BTW.  And I have been in a bit of a slump lately anyway, so that is not a good thing at all.

I got my Cocoa Daisy kit, along with my {a flair for buttons} order in the mail on Monday, so I made myself get my kit out and work with it.  I love the kit and just kept looking at the papers over and was the cutting and gluing that was holding me back.

And just by this layout, you can tell I am not creating like I normally do.  I am still not sure if I like it or minute I do and the next I don't.  And it looks tilted...but it's not...I think it's that woodgrain paper doing a visual trick! Plus, there is a LOT of white space which I usually do not have!

Supplies: Cardstock-American Crafts;  Pattern Paper-My Mind's Eye (Turquoise Wood & Chevron), Crate Paper (StoryTeller Tag Cuts); Die-Cuts-October Afternoon (9-5 collection); Letters-Sassafras (green), October Afternoon (9-5); Buttons and Twine-Unknown; Paper Clip-7 Gypsies; Stamp-Cocoa Daisy (Chevron Arrow Stamp)

Items not in kit:  Adhesive-Scotch ATG and Fabri Tac; Ink-Jenni Bowlin (WeatherVane) and Prima (Tin Roof); Punch-Martha Stewart Large Border Punch

Close up of layered die cuts and button

and again.....

I thought a neat thing to do would be to include part of the Cocoa Daisy logo or the quote card they slip in the kits for at least one of my projects from each month.  (note...I did this in May without thinking about doing it for June)  So, I think I am just going to add that little touch each month!

And Ella Boo is NINE years old as of 7/10/12!!  Hard to believe that she is quite that old.  She hasn't slowed down a bit.  Could be because she has always been somewhat of a couch potato to begin with.  I managed to grab this picture of her and Sheldon in the backyard last night.  And Carleen brought her Andy's Frozen Custard home for her birthday treat.  I managed to get a couple of pics of her eating it, but it wasn't easy!

That's all from me!  I am off to read my book.  It's a series by H.P. Mallory which is pretty good.  (witches, warlocks, vampires, etc...without being to heavy or gory!)

Whoops..I almost forgot!!  It's is's THIRD birthday celebration.  Head over to the blog to get in on all the giveaways.  They are doing one a day and the deadline for all of them is this Saturday, July 14th at 11:59 AM Mountain time.  So, you still have time to get in on them!  So far they are giving away an entire My Mind's Eye collection, Miss Caroline and then a couple of WeRMemory Keepers Lucky 8 punches and other goodies!!

Quick Late Night Update and a card...

Just a quick late night update.  I was getting ready to head to bed and though I would post this card.  I love the Sketchbook collection by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts, but I just haven't gotten to play with it a lot.  I have been trying to get some things done for deadlines just to make sure they are out of the way.  BUT I couldn't wait any longer and whipped out a quick card with it the other day.

Supplies:  Cardstock-American Crafts; Pattern Paper-American Crafts (Amy Tangerine Sketchbook); Die Cuts-American Crafts (Amy Tangerine Sketchbook); Twine-May Arts; Adhesive-Scotch ATG and Fabri-tac

I had grand, grand plans for getting a lot done today, but that went by the wayside!  We did get the computer chair issue taken care of, so at least we have a chair that doesn't wobble back and forth when we sit in it.  Other than that, I took a nap and read the second book in my series that I am reading and have just about finished it.

AND Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker  has a project kit for July over on her blog.  I had forgotten to link it up since I had pre scheduled all my posts this week.  This is available and there are limited kits, once they are gone they are gone!  She has more pictures of the inside over on the blog, which I linked the post.

Toodles, I am off to sleep some more!  We have a have to take a nap, so that you can sleep at night!

There is a fun steal over on today!  Doodlebug Designs Striped Buttons, lots of fun colors to play with!  The Summer DT got to join in on this one and we all had fun!  Here are the projects I came up with.

The buttons are a solid color on the back!  So double the fun!

And you know me, when I have scrapbooking supplies and blank canvases laying around, an altered piece is sure to follow!  And this was no exception.  If you are wondering the canvas size, it's approx. 12 x 4 inches.  They come in a three pack at Michael's.

Supplies: Pattern Paper-Echo Park (Summer Days); Buttons-Doodlebug Designs Striped Buttons; Chipboard-Echo Park (Summer Days); Stickers-Echo Park (Summer Days); Twine-May Arts; Doilies-Wilton; Canvas-Micheal's; Punch-Martha Stewart; Adhesives-Matte Medium Gel and Glue Dots

Sketch Support Update

Allison had decided that Sketch Support was going to take a break at the end of May.  Today she announced on her personal blog that Sketch Support will not be continuing.  I am sad about her decision, but I TOTALLY support her and it 110% and understand.

I have loved being a part of the Sketch Support team and would not have hesitated to stay on it.  I will miss the team in a big way.  Looks like I am going to have a little more free what can I get into?!

I just wanted to give a quick update here, because I know there are some people that come over from the Sketch Support blog from time to time.

You can read about her decision here......

Our Gang-Cocoa Daisy Layout

I got out my Instax the other day to take some pics of the dogs...I tell you what...between Ella and Jetson, I wasted a few pics!  I made this page the other night during a "scrap night" over at Nikki's house.  This was after she had fed me "truck meat" and I didn't know if I would survive until morning.  Hee really, it was literally meat from a truck that guys drive around and sell out of.  Nikki bought meat...her neighbors called the cops!  I survived and the hamburgers were good, I will give her that!

Supplies-Pattern Papers-LilyBee (Lemonade and Hopscotch), Simple Stories (Bingo/Stripe and Summer Quilt), American Crafts (Amy Tangerine Saffron Study), My Mind's Eye (Howdy Doody Ledger), Basic Grey (Daisy Mae); Stickers-Pink Paislee (Prairie Hill), Jenni Bowlin (Hodge Podge Playful);  Arrow Tag-Ormolu; Chipboard Letters-Jillibean Soup

Supplies not in kit
Ink-Memento; Hangers-Tim Holtz; Twine-May Arts; Adhesive-Scotch ATG, Fabri-Tac and Scrapbook Adhesives

The fun circle stamp that came in the kit....

I hand cut part of the chevron from the Simple Stories paper and then just layered an Ormolu tag on top of it to mimic the arrow shape.

I think I might be able to squeak out another layout or definitely a few cards from what I have left out of my kit.  Just in time, because the new one is right around the corner!

She is Lovely...a whole lot of....

Here's another layout with Jillibean Soup's Coconut Lime collection.  I LOVE the green and pink combo  in the collection.  And I had fun creating this one, because of these fun pictures of Ella Boo Bear!

Supplies:  Pattern Paper-Jillibean Soup (Coconut Lime); Die Cuts-Jillibean (Coconut Lime);
Twine-The Twinery; Punch-EK Success;
Adhesives-Scotch ATG, Scrapbook Adhesives and Fabri-Tac

Love this little diecut tag!

I fussy cut butterflies from the pattern paper and then arranged them along the bottom of the pictures.  It took me longer to cut them out than to do the entire layout I think!

I can't think of much else to ramble on, so I am just going to leave it at that!  Have a great day!
