PDCC 66 Color Splash...

This is a quick entry for the PlayDate Cafe Challenge this week!  It was a color splash and lilac (or any shade of purple) was the color of choice.  I had trouble...because GASP I really don't have any purple paper that I wanted to use!!  Here's the picture we were given:

So I misted and played and this is what I came up with:
Supplies:  American Crafts Cardstock, Smooch Spritz, Unity Stamp, Offray Ribbon,
Scotch and Fabri Tac adhesive, Memento Ink, Martha Stewart Punch, Sewing Machine
I haven't decided if I really love this card or not.....I do like it....but my first impression is not "love"!  And I just think it's because I was winding down after a busy weekend!

We are under a Blizzard Warning starting at 6AM Tuesday morning....I can't wait!!!!  LOVE Snow!!!!!!
Have a great night!!!

A Scrappy Gnome and introducing Em....

There is a new member of the Em.........

Yes, I got a new sewing machine.  I had a Brother that I had gotten for Christmas years ago....never really worked right.  (couldn't be operator error!)  So, I went on the hunt Friday/Saturday and picked this up at a local quilt shop. Merrily We Quilt Along It's a Bernina Bernette 56.  Within my pricing range...they had me sit and play with soon as I saw the automatic threader...well, pretty much sold me.  They are so nice if you are in the Springfield area and love to look/shop/gawk at fabric or need a sewing machine go in and see them!

Best part....ha ha...I get two 3 hour lessons!!!  LOL LOL  Which is a good thing considering I had it sewing in reverse when I got it home....I am not sure what I did, but it's ok now!  I think I am going to need those lessons!

On to a layout.....I picked up Echo Park's Little Boy line from Our Paper Place and Scrapbook Generation the last couple of weeks.  So, I have been having fun with it.  Of course, after I got the sewing machine working, I had to do a layout!!!

Supplies: Echo Park Little Boy Collection, American Crafts Thickers,
Unknown Ribbon and Jute Twine, The Twinery Baker's Twine, Cat's Eye Inks,
Zig Micron pen, EK Success border punch, Sewing Machine,
Scotch ATG, Fabri Tac, and Scrapbook Adhesives

Closer look at the mushrooms
My Stitched Banner!!

And that stitch around the edges is a blanket case you were wondering!!!

Good stuff coming up this week...I have a Play Date Cafe Challenge entry to post....And I have managed to create something for EVERY sketch over at Sketch Support for February!!!  And some twice!

Have a wonderful night!!

I have been busy....creating that is!

Well, I have been busy creating, if you can believe it??  Saturday was ScrapaPalooza with Scrapbook Generation and around 300 croppers.  We had a fun time, I got to see friends I hadn't seen in a while, got to meet some new people and in general just create from 9 am - 10 pm.  I think I was one of the last to get their stuff packed...I was trying to finish a layout!

It was great to talk to fellow Sketch Support team members...Christina Hoffman, Christy Arthur, and Amy Roller! I have a picture of all of us, I just need to edit it.  I only took TWO pictures....well, Jennifer took two pictures with my camera.  I decided to just enjoy the time and not really worry about pictures!

Speaking of Palooza...I was "the bad cropper".  I spilled my can of Dr. Pepper.  Luckily I was sitting on the was in my area.  Moving like the Man of Steel, I quickly picked up my project, trimmer, etc.  Then my sweet friend, Lexi, pointed out that the edge of my phone was sitting in the puddle.....did I try to save, I went for the PAPER!!!!!  Phone is fine, the puddle was small, and no scrappy supplies were hurt in the process.

Here is a layout that I got done that I can show was a just for fun one, no DT assignment, no deadline except the building closing!
Supplies:  American Crafts City Park; American Crafts Thickers; American Crafts and May Arts Ribbon, Martha Stewart border punch, Jute, Scotch ATG and Fabri Tac Adhesives, Clearsnap Cat's Eye ink

And a close up of that flower!

Well, that's it for me....I am up at Sketch Support on Wednesday.  And there is a giveaway sponsored by American Crafts that you can get in on until make sure and visit over there!!

Valentine Tag for you....Twinery Fun!!

Oh my goodness....I don't know what has happened but my mojo is flowing like a river after the winter thaw and I am making all sorts of things I usually don't make!!

The other day I was at Staples and happened upon the shipping tag aisle.  Well, I just decided to pick up a box of them.  Now, I have no clue if this is cheaper than getting them elsewhere, but I had some rewards to use!!  These are great tags to alter also....very sturdy!!

As we all know Valentine's day is fast approaching, and now is the time to start making the cards, tags, gifts, etc if you are going the handmade route!!  Oh, totally do not forget the mailboxes either!!
This tag took literally no time to make.  I would have made a few more...but my mess needed to be cleaned up and I needed to get to bed!!!

I knew I wanted to make a twine heart shape out of my baker's twine from The Twinery.  So, I drew a heart and cut it out.  Then I took redline tape (super sticky double sided) and covered the heart with it.  Then I took my Pink Sorbet twine...started at the top point, and just laid my twine around the outside of the heart. Then I just kept going until I had the heart filled in.  I then tied a small knot with some ends sticking out from the Caribbean twine and glued it in the middle.  Then I decided I needed another heart, so I mad a bigger one, use the same colors of twine and then glued the smaller one on top of the bigger one.

A little distress ink, a little Unity Stamp action, some K&Co paper, with some vintage lace, a little more Twinery twine in Cappuccino...and Voila a tag is born!!!
Supplies: Shipping Tag, Unity Stamps, The Twinery Baker's Twine,
Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker Cute as a Button button,
K&Co Sweet Nectar paper, Memento and Distress Inks, FabriTac and Red Line adhesives.

I love this tag as it is, but it would look so cute on a scrapbook page or on a card.  If you haven't tried to make these kinds of tags.....pull them out, grab some Twinery Twine and start creating!!!!

I know there are AMAZING crafters out there that can do some wonderful things with Unity.  I thought I would jump in.  I know my chances are slim, but a girl has to try right??

Happy New Year and a couple of favorite moments from the past year...

Well, 2010 is officially gone and 2011 has arrived.  Personally, I am looking for a new start for the new year.  This past year has not been the best around here.  I should have known when I started 2010 projectile vomitting at midnight.  Yeah...a little TOO much info probably!  This year, I moved from the couch to the bed, so it seems to be going great this far!

Things I found out in 2010

I found out that I sometimes want to be more creative than I have the time for.
I have made some new online friends thru the stamping world and found that I LOVE to stamp.
Give things chances and you might find that they are different than what you thought.
A new DSLR, even on auto, helps me take better pictures!  LOL LOL

Time is precious.....cherish everything

These are just a few that I thought I would jot down.  Everyone seems to be choosing "one little word" for 2011 in the creative arena.  I just don't know if I can choose just one.  So, I am leaving it that if I want to I will and if I don't...that's ok too.
It's up, it's live, and it's kicking off 2011! (and yep...totally typed 2010 just then!)  Go check it's going to be fun fun fun....2 page, 1 page, card, and add-on sketches to get your mojo flowing for the entire year!  There will be guest designers, sponsors and you never know what's in store!

Ok, going to end the post with some photos.  Can't show anything right's either not done (more the case!), CHA related and has to stay hidden, or is in my head waiting to be done!  Here are a couple of my favorite photos with my Nikon that I got this past year.

Have a WONDERFUL 2011!!
