Snow Day for the Furry Ones!! And Kiki Art giveaway soon!!!

Well, the snow finally got here that they were predicting.  It snowed all day on Friday and pretty much all night.  We woke up to white, white, and more white.  I love snow so I am not complaining a bit.

So to celebrate the snow here are a few pictures of the dogs enjoying it.....well, when we finally got them off of the porch.

Ella isn't too sure about this stuff all over her nose!

Jetson wondering why everyone won't come out in the yard with him

Higgins, who finally decided that someone could take a picture of him!  And his legs are longer than everyone else, so that's how deep the snow is.

Let's RUMBLE!!!!!  OR pick on Jetson, since he can be a pain.  :)

Whew, they worked me over, I am WORN out!

I will have a Kiki-Art giveaway as soon I as I get my projects back from CHA!  They are on their way here, so hopefully within the next week.  And it's going to include the super cool TOTE BAG like Kiki gave the Design Team!!!   Be sure to start looking for Kiki-Art in your LSS, we made a splash at CHA!!!!

Off to run some errands and maybe take some more snow pictures!!!  Have a great weekend.

Let the CHA fun begin!!!!

Well, I am obviously not at CHA if I am updating my blog, right?!  Well, I could be if I had a laptop...but I don't so that takes care of that!!  :)

I have only been scrapbooking thru one CHA since I started and I got the excitement...but not like this time!  I actually could have went as a design team member for Kiki Art, but it didn't work out this time.  I am hoping maybe Chicago in July.  How fun would that be and if I wanted to drive it would only be an eight hour one.  :)

So, instead I am going to share a few things I have done with you for CHA...this will be going on for a few days, as I have quite a few projects there!!!  Which I am very excited about and honored beyond belief!

This first one is my inital K altered with Kiki Art papers from the Magica Collection.  This is a bright and fun line that reminds me of a fantasy land or dream!
Photobucket

Supplies:  Kiki-Art Magica Collection Papers, Cat's Eye Ink, Bazzill Tulle,
Martha Stewart border punch, Fabric-Tac adhesive, Button is unknown

This next one is a layout of my friend and Higgins, who was very distracted by a squirrel or something else that was running around behind me while I was trying to take the picture!!!  We took lots of great pics that day and you will see quite a few of them.  It was perfect...a little overcast, so it really made the colors POP!  The title "me and you" came to me from the song So Happy Together.  I searched for the lyrics and used them for my journaling.
Photobucket

Supplies:  Kiki-Art Familia Collection; Magica Collection Rainbow Chipboard and Stitch FunTape,
Bazzill cardstock, Making Memories Slice

And last but not least a.....wait for it..........CARD!  If you follow my blog, you know I state that I need to work on making cards more.  Well, believe it or not, I actually have TWO at CHA!  And I am happy with botho of them. :)  I embossed the cardstock with my trusty Cuttlebug and then used up some of my scraps to make the card.  And the butterfly is made with my Slice, O Wire from Zutter, and the Glittered Chipboard Hearts from Kiki Art.  I took the Kiki Art FunTape and ran it along the backside of my ribbon to create a ribbon that matched!
Photobucket

Supplies: Kiki Art paper, FunTape, and Glittered Chipboard Hearts; Bazzill Cardstock; $1 stamp from Michaels, EK Success Border Punch

And last but definitely not least, my buddy Karen, who is on Spellbinders design team, has made it to the finals of the Purple Cows contest!  So, go throw a vote her way if you would! Here is her blog where you can see the amazing mini album that she made.  Creative Yearnings     Here's the site to vote for her project!    Purple Cows Voting.

Thanks for coming by today....and I will have a Kiki Art Giveway on my blog this week!!!!!  And new layout goodies to share!!

Kiki Art layout and Nikki Sivils Day

Well, here is my layout for Kiki Art about massages.  I LOVE them!  And yes, my massage therapist thought I was a little nuts that I wanted to take pictures.  I did tell her that she would end up on a scrapbook page and possibly a blog or two!  :)

Supplies: Kiki Art China Collection pattern paper, Bazzill cardstock,
Tombow Adhesive, Making Memories Slice, Martha Stewart
border punch, Ranger Inks, Ribbon and Lace are unknown.

I am not used to using such a "dark" color scheme, but I am happy with the way it turned out. If you follow or have looked around my blog, I usually use "bright" colors!!!  Kiki Art will be at CHA, so if you are there, be sure to stop by and say hi to everyone!  And tell them you read my blog! :)

So, I posted that I was going to help Nikki and Heather (her "Graphic Bee") at Scrapbook Generation the first of this month.  I thought I would share a picture that I believe Stephanie took of the three of us.  Stephanie came all the way from Springfield, IL!  She is great fun and I hope she comes down and we all get to do something together.  And I promise, I will try to remember a step stool for her to ride in the Toaster (my Honday Element....it's a little tricky to get in the back...especially if you are vertically challenged!)  The day was a blast and there were SO many people and lots of pictures taken.  We were tired, but a fun tired.  I hope we get to do it again. :)  From L to R--Nikki, Heather, and I.  Man...you can tell I hadn't felt well all week. :)

So...CHA is getting ready to start...who is excited?  ME for one!!!  I can't wait to see all the new stuff that hasn't been sneak peeked yet.  ;)  And Making Memories has some new stuff for the Slice, so I am excited to see what that is all about.

I will be doing a Kiki Art giveaway during CHA, so you will want to make sure you read and keep an eye on the blog.  And I will have projects from Kiki Art and Nikki Sivils to share!  I can start posting those on Sunday.

Off to nappy land....rainy weather makes me happy and sleepy!

Hardest Part of Designing......Nikki Sivils Sneak Peeks for CHA

I don't know about anyone else...but the hardest part of design team work is the "waiting" to post it!!!!  I get something done and I want to put it on my blog right then!  Or at the very least post in a gallery!  I just want to share all the excitement out of creating something new and different.  Especially when I am super excited and LOVE the project I have made!

So, today I have no layout, no projects to show.  I have a couple of things that I am uber super happy with, but I cannot show them until CHA starts!  WAHHHHHH....But I will give you a sneak peek of a couple of Nikki Sivils new paper lines that are coming out at CHA.  One of them, is what my projects are made of that I can't show you.  These are so cute and wait until you see the ones she hasn't released pics of yet!  You are gonna love them.

I will let you go to Nikki's blog posting for the stories behind these two lines.  I love that she has stories behind them.  And don't let the boldness of Flaming Butterfly get you in a flutter.,  hee hee....it is super fun to work with.  There that's a hint of what my projects are made out of!  And I have another line, but I can't say anything about it yet!  Let's just say I will be working my fingers as fast as I can the next few days!

Let me know which one you like best!!!!!

Flaming Butterfly

Willow Bee

Aren't these great!!!!  So different and so fun!

Couple of Kiki Art projects to share!

Hi everyone!!!  Here are a couple of Kiki Art projects that I have worked on in the last couple of weeks.  I have worked on some other things, but I just can't post them yet.....not until CHA starts.  So, if you don't hear from me for a week or so, that will be why!

Supplies:  Kiki Art Jardin line papers, Tombow Adhesives, Bazzill Cardstock,
Smooch Accent Ink, Acrylic paint, Quikutz dies, Martha Stewart punches.

The first one I already gave you a sneak peek of here a post or two down.  I got the darn stomach bug on New Year's Eve and lets just say I rang in the New Year in a NOT SO FUN way!  I am better now, just a little tired and a cold.  So, that is why I haven't posted this one yet.  The funny thing is, after I did this layout for the Kiki Art blog, it turned horribly cold here, with snow!!!!  Yeah!!!  Maybe I did a "snow layout" dance!!!!  I edited the pics at Picnik.com and added the snowy frames.  These papers are from the Jardin Collection and are more springtime than winter...but I just added paint to make some snow!!

To make my die cut letters stand out I cut them four times and glued the layers together with my Tombow Multi, this gives the cardstock the effect of chipboard, by layering.  Warning the smaller the letter the more time it takes, but it works great!!!

Here is the other layout I did for the Kiki Art blog.  I actually filled in for Sarah since she is SWAMPED right now with CHA happenings. She sent her layout to me and I wrote the posting...and then I added a "mini" layout to go along with her 12x12 one. If you are in Anehiem at CHA you need to go by the Kiki Art booth and meet Sarah, Kiki, and Nicole.  They are going to be rocking the Kiki Art projects and having some fun.  Make sure you stop by and say HI!!!!  Kiki is coming from Canada, so give her a special warm American welcome!!!  I so wish I was going.  :)

Cardstock, Making Memories Slice

Did you know that alot of the sayings that we have are Chinese Proverbs??  I had no idea until I came up with the idea for this layout and started looking around the internet.  One of my favorites that I included on the layout is;  Dogs have so many friends because they wag their tails, not their tongues!!!

And the see the border paper?  That black area is thickly flocked!  So, you get the effect of a ribbon, without having to use one.  And I thought the glittered chipboard shapes gave an oriental feel to the piece.  How fun and easy was this!  (please forgive the picture....no sunlight for days...it was the best picture I could get!)

Alright, I think I might go scrap now!!!!

Have a scrappy kinda day~~Katrina
