A just for fun post...

Well, it's Saturday evening and just got back from a road trip today.  Went  to visit Carleen's parents. They are so super sweet!  Well...I kinda visited...I feel so comfortable there that I can fall asleep and take a nap while her dad is napping too!  Took the pups along and they played with her brother's dog.  They had fun running around and barking.  Jetson decided that a "mud" treatment was in order for the day.  Once we got home we had to get the mud out of that fluffy coat.  He definitely needs a B-A-T-H soon!

I got some white Bazzill cardstock and a new Martha Stewart border punch the other night and just had to try it out on the following layout.  YES, I am proclaiming my love of MARTHA!  I love all things Martha and I don't care if she comes up with the idea or not!  Now, if her organizational skills would rub off on me...well that would be the "Bee's Knees" in my book!!!  Weird...I am organized at home...well, let's just not talk about it!

And speaking of LOVE....Glue Arts and Kiki Art have teamed up!!!  I used all Glue Arts adhesives on this layout.  So easy and so sticky!!!  I used the Glue Glider Pro, some of the Squares and the Ribbon adhesive.  I bet you are wondering about the ribbon adhesive, since there is no ribbon on the layout.  Well, it was PERFECT to attach that thin strip of white with the pink flowers right above the picture.  So, remember if your tape runner's width is too large, think of ribbon adhesive to tack paper down also!!!

Kiki Art Jardin collection, Glittered Chipboard Hearts, Amor Bling and Puzzle Pieces; Sakura Pens,American Crafts Thickers,
Making Memories Slice/Sping Card, Martha Stewart Punch around the Page,
Bazzill Cardstock, Glue Arts Adhesive

Here are some closeups of a few of the elements:
I cut this title with my Slice out of  JARDIN cerca y florcitas And then went along the inside of the letters with a Sakura glitter pen.  After adhering the title, I thought it needed something a little more so I went around the outside of the letters with the same pen.

Below, I did my journaling on one of the Puzzle Pieces...LOVE these for journaling cute.  And I took the same Sakura pen from above and traced along the edge to add  a little something!!!  And that grass:  Well, it was cut from the same Slice card out of JARDIN Mariposas GW and  JARDIN cerca y florcitas also. I then traced with a Sakura Pen and then pop dotted for dimension.
And last but not least...the snail!  I couldn't figure out where I could use one of the Glittered Chipboard HeartsKiki Art has...but I really wanted to use one.  SOOOOO....I cut it in half, trimmed a little, and then made a snail head to glue to it.  Then, of course, every snail has a shell that has a swirly in I took the Amor bling and made a swirl!

Well, that is it for today....I am tired and glad the Olympics are about over......I can't take staying up so so late for much longer.  My days and nights are totally mixed up.  I have never really gotten back on schedule from being on vacation a couple of weeks ago!!!

Don't forgot, BLOG CRAWL is happening next weekend.  I have started the "gift" that I will be giving away that weekend.  So, you need to be sure and check back!!!  Plus...I hear that my DT box with new stuff from Kiki Art is in the mail and winging it's way to me....Whoo hooo.....I love paper!!!!

Design Team Call: Townhouse Divas!!!!

Sorry I haven't blogged this week. With the birthday festivities and the Winter Olympics, that pretty much took up my time! Yeah, I am a Olympics junkie....more so with the Winter ones.  I LOVE figure skating and to those who say it isn't a try standing on that little blade! I am balance challenged and know I couldn't do it!!!! Ok, on with the big, I mean BIG news:

This team’s main job will be slightly different, but not any less exciting or fun, than the Doghouse Divas Design Team.  Most of the requirements will be around the CHA trade show (show is in January and July every year) and getting the new products sampled quickly.  Another requirement will be making class samples, attending local crops and giving away prizes, etc.  How fun does that sound?!  Plus you will get to interact with the Doghouse Divas and join in on all their fun too!  We may have to see just who can have the rowdiest house!

Willow Bee....Be Creative that is!

I am so excited....this idea just "came" to me.  I LOVE it when that happens!  This is made from a clipboard.  I wanted to have the clip on there, but the weather is NOT permitting any spray painting at the moment, so I decided to go without it!

These papers are from the Willow Bee line from Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker.  These are sooooo fun to work with.  The the green leaves are from Flaming Butterfly, but I didn't want the flower to be without leaves!
Supplies: Paper, Cute as a Button Buttons, Stamps, Craft Flags, Stickers all Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker (mostly Willow Bee line) Ribbon and Lace are Unknown, Making Memories Slice and letter stickers, Cat's Eye Inks

How fun is that flower!!!  And the pocket....did you SEE THE POCKET??????  That is from the new stickers "Pocket of Treats".  The packaging can be used for SOOOO many things!  I can't wait to start playing with them.  (think journaling, pull out tags, peek a boo pockets)

Well bloggies....I am off to bed...I am trying to get to bed earlier, so that my days and nights aren't so mixed up...we shall see how long that lasts!!!!!

Just a note! and Sketch 185 for Scrapbook Challenges

As you can tell, I have been playing around with the background!  I was trying to get it all organized and pretty.  hee hee....Disaster about struck when I tried to change from a two column to a three column....blogger didn't like it and I had my margins all messed up.  EKKKK...(note to self....ALWAYS backup the template, before playing around).  I pretty much got it fixed and got all of Nikki Sivils Doghouse Divas over there on the side.  It's a BIG list, but you need to CHECK out their work...AMAZING talent on the team and I am so honored to get to be a part of it.  I am still working on Kiki Art links...I decided to quit while I was ahead the other night!  :)

I am going to work on some Nikki Sivils goodies tonight!!  I got my design team package of goodies and have just been trying to come up with what I want to do first.

My fellow DT Diva, Deana Boston played with some Kiki Art goodies!!!!  She has created a new word to describe Kiki Art...are you ready for it......RAINBOWLICIOUS!!!!!!  LOVE it...and I am sure that Kiki does too!  Head over to her blog HERE and check out what she did with the goodies....SO know you want to see it!!!  Leave her some love while you are at it!  That girl can rock some scrappy socks off of you.  :)

AND if you are looking for Kiki Art and cannot find it, we have a list of retailers on the blog.  I am SURE they would be more than happy to help you out with an order!!!  We also have a store in Spain that is carrying the product!!  How exciting for all of us at Kiki Art!!!!!

Here's my layout for sketch 185 for Scrapbook Challenges.  If you haven't checked us out, please do!  There is major inspiration over there, lots of challenges, fun and just chit chatting!  Here's Pamlea's sketch that we had to work with:

And here is my take.  I did a digital layout, since it was late and I didn't want to have to drag all my stuff out and then put it back up!  Plus I had a little digi mojo going on, so I decided to work with it!!!
Supplies: All freebies from Shabby Princess (LOVE their stuff!)
Ok, that's it for today folks!!!  I am off to scrap my little heart out, if I don't fall asleep first!!  I do like my naps!

Free...did someone say Free Kiki Art Paper??? NEW LINE???

If you haven’t heard of Kiki Art, read this post by Ella Publishing Co. They talk about what this new scrapbooking manufacturer is all about.
I know a lot of you have been asking me where to get Kiki Art products, and the truth is, it’s brand spankin’ new, so a lot of retailers don’t have them on their shelves yet. Boo Hoo! ((We are working on a list of stores that currently carry Kiki Art products, and I’ll make sure to keep everyone updated)).
…so no Kiki Art in your area?! :( No fret! Keep talking your local scrapbook stores into getting some of her fabulous stuff. In the mean time, there’s another way to get your hands on Kiki Art.
Kiki Art is having a HUGE giveaway for our Facebook fans! What’s up for grabs?! Well, stuff that you are going to LOVE, of course! Here’s some of the paper that’s up for grabs (to see ALL of the paper, click here):

I know you are all thinking, “How do we play?!” Here’s what Kiki wrote on Facebook:
Ok… let’s do something fun today!!! The prize? The complete LOVE/AMOR and Hot AIR Balloon collections. How to get it? Tell us what was the general theme for our blogs in January and who was your favorite author for that month. You can also leave her a comment at her post, and that will increase your chances to WIN!
Let me recap that for everyone.
1. Log onto Facebook. Then, become a FAN of Kiki Art.

2. Go to the Kiki Art’s Facebook Page, and leave a comment on her wall post stating the theme for the blog in January. Don’t know what the theme is?! Check out the Kiki Art blog to review what the majority of the posts were about. …or if you are really stuck, email me at and I’ll give you a little hint.;)
3. For another chance to win, leave a wall post stating who wrote your favorite blog post in the month of January.
4. You have until Sunday night to play, so get to it!

And BIG KUDOS to my Sarah for this posting.  She wrote it and I cut and pasted it!  So, this is totally Sarah's post!  Hugs to her letting me copy it.  It was a late night last night and I am not fully functioning today!!!!

A Fun Kiki Art layout and some "DogHouse Diva" News!!!!!

So, I decided to create with Kiki Art without a clue as to what I was going to come up with!!  This was purely just creating a page from nothing in mind to a page I would love!  I love the collages that you can get with and I used one on this.  I do pay for the premium version, because I wanted extra features.  And I do have PSE, but Picnik has some fun stuff to play with!

Great ready for Kiki-Art to KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!  We on the design team are gearing up and getting ready to show you what we can do!  So, don't forget to visit the Kiki-Art blog regularly and be sure to be on the lookout for Kiki Art in your LSS.....and we may have some news, but we have to wait for awhile!

And how fun...someone pointed out that the picture collage with the border around and below looks like a window with a flower box!  I hadn't even noticed it.  I just wanted to use the Kiki Art FunTape to give the page a splash of really bright color!

I feel this layout captures the "essence" of Kiki-Art to me.....carefree, creative, fun, and full of life!  And the papers just ROCK....this layout came together so quick......the title took me the longest to figure out!
Suuplies:  Kiki Art Jardin Collection (FunTape, Bling, Papers), Bazzill Cardstock,
Martha Stewart Border Punch, Generic chipboard letters, American Crafts Thickers,
Cat's Eye Inks, Stickles, Lace, Buttons, and Twine

ANNNDDDDD.......I haven't really told anyone, I tried out for Nikki Sivil's Design Team and I made it!!!!  Yes, I did blog for her, but as a friend helping a friend.  If I wanted to be on the Design Team, I was required to try out with everyone else and judged accordingly.  So, I am OFFICIALLY a "DogHouse Diva"!!!! When she called me, I had tears.  Thank goodness I was in Target, or I would have probably really been crying. :)
I am so excited.  My term is from now until May.

And even more exciting she asked me to be lead of a local team here!!!  This will be a team that can do fast and quick projects when they are needed on the spur of the moment (which happens more than you think!).  So, be sure to check Nikki's blog, she will be having a call posted shortly for the local team.  You local girls that read this, hint hint!!!!!

And how exciting, there were "two" spots, but six girls were picked for the Design Team and then Nikki created a "Stamping and Card-making"  Team!  How cool is that.  There is some AMAZING talent on the teams, and I am a little nervous!

You can read the announcement here  Design Team Announcement

Ok, off to go pinch myself!!!!  And Kiki-Art team members and Doghouse Divas, I will be updating the blog with all your blog links!!!!

Have a Scrappy Kinda Day!!~~Katrina
