My new found love....border punches!!

Supplies: Bo Bunny Papers and orange ribbon, Thickers, Creative Imaginations Rubons,
Unknown Ribbon, and Basic Grey Chipboard

Ok, I have fallen in love with border punches. These are the neatest tool....I won't tell you how many I have of them...just that I LOVE them!!!

If you take a look at some of the layouts I have posted....can you see that I used atleast one punch in every layout?

Maybe that's why I love Sassafras....they have those border strips that are groovy!!!

Here's a layout from a trip to the fair....They have a stand that is called Pineapple Whip and had this funky cutout to take pics in! At the 24 hour crop, we got a package of Bo Bunny beachy themed paper and I thought it was perfect for this layout!

Have a scrappy day!! I am on vacation, so I am heading to the LSS and some scrappy time later!

Vintage for me!

Supplies: All older Sassafrass papers (Sew fine?), Glimmer Mist, Thickers

Well, this was a challenge for me. I have not tried to do "negative" space, because I don't think that it comes as easy for me as "the more the better" look!

I did this at a Friday night crop at my LSS, with a little help from one of my new scrappy friends, Lexi. She does negative space and vintage quite well. This layout was one of first for me...using Glimmer Mist, negative space, and sewing. Lexi had brought her sewing machine, so I took a chance to use it!

This picture is one of my favorites from the Cardigan Nationals trip that we took in April 09. This was toward the end of the day after Ella (precious pup in pic!) and I had competed in the AKC Rally Obedience trial. This was the very first time that both of us were in the obedience ring to show for competition. It was ruff (rough!) for me, because I was a nervous wreck. As soon as we got done in the ring, I broke out in tears. (Stress, I cry when I get really really stressed!) I had almost excused us from the ring, but glad I didn't. We did well, with a second place finish and one leg for her Rally Novice title. It takes three passing legs to get a title on your dog. We may try to finish that title in October, at the trial here in town.

Ella doesn't give a whole lot of kisses and I am so glad this moment was captured. I will always cherish how much she gave in the ring that day with me and I learned that I need to just BE...and things will always work out.

ohhh...Scarlet Lime Kit giveaway and an awsome blog

I have to tell you about an awesome blog I have found in my scrappy wanders around the net....Pamela's World of Scrap caught my attention when I first found it and I am a regular visitor to her site! She is a member of the My Little Shoebox Design Team and recently became a member of Rusty Pickle's DT!

She is having an awesome giveaway, a Scarlet Lime kit!! Who wouldn't want to win it? I would love to try one of their kits, just once to see what the fuss is all about...because I am sure it is worth it! (fear of commitment to a kit club here!)

Giveaway ends on Sunday, so you still have time to enter! Check it out HERE!

Another Layout!!

Supplies used: All Sassafras items, Sharpie Marker, Cat's Eye Ink

Ok, I love gnomes. I will just say it right now. I think they are cute and fun. I would love to have a ton more of them. ;) Some people I know do not like them....and that's ok. But there is just something about a short little person, in a pointy hat, that talks with an accent that makes me laugh....ok at the moment I am referring to the Travelocity Gnome....not the gnomes in my yard. (or do they talk at night and I just don't know it?)

So, of course I had to scrap the little guys. This is my other favorite layout of the crop this weekend. I love Sassafras paper and these just seemed to go with these pics.

So, what do you think about gnomes?? Love them, hate them, think they are creepy? Let me know!!!!

24 hours equals 5 layouts and lots of fun!

Supplies for Whooo's a Happy Boy:
Papers , Brads, and Bread(less) tabs----Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker
Letters--Basic Grey, American Crafts, and Making Memories
Ink or Pen-Cat's Eye and Sharpie

I am still recovering after attending The ScrapNook's 24 hour Crop Around the Clock...lots of scrapping (well some people!), lots of laughing, fun and trying to stay awake! I have attended two of these and 5 layouts is about the average I get done. I am usually a slow scrapper, because I have problems with scraplifting (which I amazed when people CAN DO THIS!) and using sketches unless it is for a specific purpose, such as a challenge, a job (aka sketch design team) or contest. Plus I like to talk and shop!

Kudos to Carol first of all for hanging in there with me and winning the giveway at the end!! Great job girl..I will crop with you anytime! Major Kudos to Kimberly (and Jenn) who cooked an awesome breakfast and her MIL cinnamon rolls are to DIE for! And finally Kudos (and some major hugs) to Sheri, who bless her little scrappy heart, put everything together, hung in there, and created an amazing slide show tribute for a dear dear friend even with computer problems. The ScrapNook's crops ROCK whether they are 24 hours, 6 hours, or anything in between.

I was so excited to get to scrap with Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker's Henry's Brilliance line. Now, these are themed "Back to School" so I knew this was going to be a challenge for me...since I don't have kids, well human ones anyway. :) So, the pics I had picked to scrap with the papers, I printed wrong (perforation tab in side of pics...dang it!) so I had to come up with an alternate plan. The result is the layout you see posted here. I LOVE this of the first clean an simple layouts that I think that I have done that I am happy with. I would change nothing on this one...and that makes me happy.

Look for these papers online or in a store near you...they are shipping now! And stay other favorite layout of the weekend will be posted either tonight or tomorrow....can anyone say Sassafras?????

Nikki Sivils on Diva Craft Lounge...And my scrappy happenings.....

Nikki was asked to do an interview for the internet show Diva Craft Lounge. You can listen to the whole interview here. (If this is an older post you are reading....week of 8-12-09!)

The first part is Provo Craft (I think they are talking about the Gypsy) and then Nikki comes on after. If you want a chance to "hear" her, then here it is! And yes....she is this sweet, crazy, and funny in person!

I have been scrapping but haven't had a chance to take any pics yet. With my work schedule, rain, and having to be the perfect lighting things just haven't worked out to my advantage on the pic front.

I have actually dug out my sewing machine...NO I have NO idea how to sew! I got the machine back when I was crossstitching with the intent to make "pillows" out of some of my things....notice I said intent! ha ha!

I went and got some fun bright thread...lime green, blue, purple and a couple of varigated. I have stitched with the lime green and I LOVE IT! I am even taking my machine to the 24 hour crop this weekend. Yes, I am crazy enough to do it again for 24 hours straight!

Hopefully I will have pics of some layouts soon. For now, this will have to do...I love this pic of Jetson...he looks a little goofy, but he is a goofy guy anyway!

Wow, I won!!!

Green Tangerines is having a blog party and found out that I won a prize! The blog party is still continuing, so be sure to check it out.

We have a WINNER!!!!!

Everyone, we have a winner of the Boo-tiful 6x6 paddie and the stamp set!!! I had over 100 entries for this and Nikki was so happy when I told her.

AND, I may host another giveaway soon, so everyone keep checking back...this was my first giveaway and it was pretty fun!!!!

I put everyone's chances into an excel sheet and numbered them. I was going to do a random number generator, but decided that Nikki should pick the winner!

I called her on her cell phone, they were in Georgia heading back from CHA. Told her what I was doing and she was excited to pick a number for me! The number she picked was 88, because that is the number of her favorite NASCAR driver Dale Jr.

So, here is the winner and their entry that was number 88 in my spreadsheet
