Finally a title....

Started this LO last night and just this evening came up with a title....i was STUCK on what to call this page. Ella is crazy about real and stuffed squirrels, so I wanted a title to reflect that..When I finally looked up the definition of "squirrely" it said...."odd, crazy" a light bulb finally went off and I jumped on it!

Hope you like it! And I am trying to take better pics of my LO....over at Creative Scrappers forum there was a tutorial by Cheryl that helped bunches with my pic can see the difference in the two pics!

ATC Swap on 2 Peas....

Well, my first post on this blog started with an ATC "model" for a swap I am in, so I guess I should show my finished ATC's that I am sending! Here they are :) The Basic Grey letters just about did me over. They were cut with Cuttlebug and Quikutz font SkinniMini. And let me tell you they are mini! I cut thin chipboard, then BG paper and then mounted the paper on the chipboard. I couldn't get CB to cut after glueing the paper on first. It has been humid here and I think it was just damp. Once isn't bad....try it NINE times and then it gets to be a little much! But it was worth the finished look. :)

Hoping to get a couple of layouts done, so that i can post those also, but started scrapping late tonight, so they won't be on here atleast until tomorrow!

Have a scrappy day! Katrina

Layout and some news....

Here is one of the layouts I did this's of my precious Fannie, who crossed to the bridge a year ago this weekend. It was hard for me to do this, but I "needed" to do it. I love the way it turned out and am very happy that I had these pics of me and her together. I usually do not want my picture taken, so these are a rarity. (all papers are BasicGrey, rub ons are 7 Gypsies, ribbon is unknown) I hand cut the flower out and distressed and inked it.

A friend of mine is starting her own scrapbooking company, Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker. Here is her blog, she will be starting her search for a design team, so here is your chance to be in on the ground floor of a team! Her website isn't up and going yet, but will be soon. I am excited because 1. I know her and 2. I get the chance to show you stuff! Be sure to check it out. She is going to CHA in July, so products should be available at retailers soon!

Just a couple of Layouts

Here are a couple of LO's that I did at the Crop Around the Clock. I don't have much to post today! Higgins Smile is the LO that got Layout of the Day at Creative Scrappers Forum.....this LO also made the Top Ten by Votes on 2 Peas....I am not sure how long it was up there....I saw it for at least 3 hours!!!

Happy Scrappy!

Wow, went to the Crop Around The Clock that the ScrapNook put on this weekend and I am beat! I made it though...didn't sleep at all until I got home. I did park a little crooked in the garage, least I didn't hit anything!

I got my drink tags for a swap I am doing done, and 3 1-page LO's and 1-2 page LO. 2 pages are a challenge for me, the one that I did took a lot out of me and I did it late in the day on Sat. so it wiped me out...I ended up just doing one after that and called it quits!

AND, then I get home and find out that my Lime Rickey LO of Higgins that I have done made Layout of the Day 5/16/2009 on the Creative Scrappers forum that I belong to (I actually just joined!) I was totally shocked!

Here is the last LO that I did at the crop....I cut the wing on the butterfly to lift it up, backed the opening with coordinating paper, inked the edges of the wing and added some chipboard elements to the corners of the picture. Everything is Basic Grey Urban Prairie, except the hearts at the bottom, those are Prima.

Tomorrow, I will post some more LO pics....just too tired right now!

So Sweet Ella

Here is the layout I promised to post....the colors might not seem quite as bright, but I took them this evening after work, so I didn't have a lot of "natural morning light" that seems to be the best to take the pics in.

This was my first attempted at "rolling" edges and ripping (not just using a distressing tool). I also came up with the idea of a string of buttons, I thought it would be unique!

If you click on the pic, it will get bigger and you can see the detail better. The background paper is by Fancy Pants (Delight line), flowers Prima, tag Bo Bunny, chipboard letters Basic Grey (covered with KI paper), mat for pic Bo Bunny, ...cute... stamp Maya Road, not sure of birds..I think Autumn Leaves.

I just love this layout and I think it is the best one that I have done so far. Let me know what you think!

Oh, Lindsey and Becky, so far I like my ribbon holder...I will know more after this weekend!

Happy Scrapping!

Busy weekend...

Friday night I went to my first crop at the ScrapNook here in Springfield. LOVED IT...didn't want to go home, but I was getting tired! I got 2 layouts done there, which is amazing considering how slow I am. Plus, I kept getting up and wandering around the shop, looking at all the goodies!

If you haven't see the new Basic Grey line, Lime Rickey, it's out of this world. Bright, crazy, funky
and fun. You either love it or you hate it. You can see the collection here Basic Grey's Site.

I hope to get pics up soon...this is the one thing I am going to have to work on to keep this blog fun and fresh! (and learn how to take better pics!)

I worked on a LO this weekend with paper from Scenic Route, Kaiser Craft, Primas, buttons, and some Basic Grey chipboard letters. I AM going to post a pic of it, because I think it's my best LO yet. Here's one of the papers I used: Kaiser Craft Monarch.

Just imagine a bright orange background with that cute!

Digital Layouts..

A little ditty about how I got into this crazy paper, gluing thing called scrapbooking.

At my job, I am responsible for advertising on our digital sign for one (now two) of our stores. You have probably seen the signs I am talking about. The electronic ones that have messages changing/running across them. Our sign has the ability to import images, create multiple types of text, import animation, etc. You can put pictures up there, possibilities are endless with these things. These are the "new" age of billboards!

In the process of learning how to use the sign and since I update our website, I ended up learning Photoshop Elements. (LOVE THIS!) The ads that I put on the sign that are created in PSE, I think, are more unique that what I can create with the program that came with the sign. And more important...more readable!

So, in the process of all this, I started a blog about the dogs and wanted to make it a little more personable. A dog friend who scrapbooks, told me about free digital kits that you could use to create your blog backgrounds and headers......this is where IT began!

I decided that digital scrapbooking sounded like fun...wouldn't take up a lot of space in the house, only on the harddrive...solution for that was to buy an external drive, etc. That lasted for a couple of weeks and POOF...paper started coming in the house and hasn't stopped. :)

Here are a couple of digital layouts that I have done that are posted on my dog blog: Ella and Jetson

Happy Scrappy Day to you!

Monday, May 4, 2009

Well, my first post on my new scrapping blog. I guess I should get some layouts posted. For now, I will post my first ATC that I made for the Basic Grey ATC swap. All papers are from the new Lime Rickey collection. This is just a template for my cards that I am going to make. I learned to staple the farthest spot first, since the stapler didn't want to staple over the others!
